Warranty
24 ,Months under normal condition of usage and maintenance from the date of completion during
which period any defect noticed and intimated to us or duly detected by our personal inspection
shall be rectified free of cost.
Warranty will cover the followings: -
1. Integrity of the floor against de-bonding cracks and bubbles.
2. Cracks over the joints on existing cracks.
3. Resistance to chemicals, oil and detergents.
We do not warranty for the followings: -

1. Scratches due to movement of sharp objects.

2. Extraneous damages due to floor settlements or dynamic cracks which other unexpected
loads.

Floor Care
To ensure adequate returns on your flooring investment, due care should be taken. The following
measures will ensure a better Performance and longer life of the floor coating system.

• Avoid water stagnation, wipe dry at the earliest.

• Avoid spillage of chemicals and solvents: if spilled, wipe dry at the earliest.

• Avoid spillage of oil, if spilled, wipe dry at the earliest.

• Do not drag objects

• Avoid excessive impact.

• Do not drop sharp objects.

• Do not apply point load on the surface.

• Do not use trolleys with steel / iron casters

• Do not heat on the floor surface or do “ hot jobs “ such as welding.

APPLICATION GUIDELINE FOR FLOOR COATINGS

HARD GRINDING

Surface Preparation:
Vacuum, steel shot, blasting is by far the preferred method of surface prep. A profile of CSP 2 or 3 is
recommended. If this is not familiar, the profile should appear similar to 60-80 grit sandpaper.

To hide this profile it will require a minimum of 15 mils of finished coating thickness. For best results use a
fill coat of epoxy to hide the profile prior to applying the topcoat. Any substrate imperfection, cracks,
divots, spalls, pop-outs, overlap of blast pattern, etc. will show through. All imperfections should be pre-
filled prior to coating.

Acid etching is not preferred as it can be inconsistent in profile, introduces water into a porous substrate,
and a byproduct of the acid base (concrete) reaction is the formation of salts. If these salts are not removed
with the rinse water they will dry on the surface and inhibit long-term bond

Joints and Cracks:

Honor all expansion/isolation joints (do not coat). Fill with the appropriate joint material, flexible or semi-
rigid, after installation of the coating. Saw cuts, cracks or control joints can be filled and coated over in a
temperature controlled environment.
KemOxy Concrete (P)

Product Description:

KemOxy Concrete Primer is a modified two-component epoxy resin based primer. The system comprises of an epoxy
resin in combination with suitable catalyst. Application of this combined system on the concrete surface provides an
excellent adhesion to super-lying structures.

Intended Uses:

KemOxy Concrete (P) is use for flooring, painting on concrete structure and can be recoated with topcoat by
using epoxy, polyurethane, chlorinated rubber paints.

Surface Preparation:

Surface should be cleaned and free from oil, grease, and latencies. Surface should be dried thoroughly
before application.

Application Method:

Application can be done by brush for optimum penetration of primer. Allow to surface dry for application of mortar.
KemFlor 521
Self –leveling, epoxy resin based floor toping
Solvent less epoxy self leveling floor toping for heavy industrial use .It has very high mechanical
strength.
Uses
KemFlor 521 can be applied to provide high strength .It is recommended as a protective coating
on floors where both high level of aesthetics and abrasion resistance are required . It is suitable
for
• Food and drink processing plants
• Pharmaceutical and cosmetic plats
• Workshop in industries ,machine-shops and warehouses
• Depots and loading ramps ,hangers ,stairs etc.

Advantages
Enhances the total system’s finish , easy to apply, solvent-free no fire risk, excellent adhesion to
substrate, very high mechanical strength .

Primer Application
After ensuring that the surface is free from all adverse factors, apply KemOxy
Concrete Primer a modified two component epoxy resin based primer.

Mix the entire content of the base and catalyst thoroughly and apply immediately to the surface by
brush or roller. Ensure proper penetration of the coating into the substrate. If the surface is
porous; apply a second coat of KemOxy Concrete Primer. Apply KemFlor 521 on the primed
surface while it is still tacky.
KemFlor 521 , Application
Add the components in the particular ratio , under continuous stirring by a very slow speed electric
stirrer , till the mixture is homogeneous. DO NOT MIX BY HAND. Remove all material from each
can. Scrape the sides of the container several times to ensure complete mixing. Be careful to not
introduce any air bubbles while mixing.

Since the mix ratio is critical to the performance of the flooring system, Quantity to be mixed
should be calculated beforehand based on the area to be covered and coating thickness desired.
Actual coverage will depend on texture, porosity, slope of the substrate.

Pour the mixed KemFlor 521 onto the surface as soon as possible (See pot life) and spread using
a notched trowel. Immediately after the trowel application, a spiked roller should be used to
ensure a level homogenous surface free of voids and surface imperfections.

Do not overwork the material. Apply slowly to minimize bubbling. If bubbles appear, use a
porcupine roller to produce a bubble free film.
KemFlor 517 SL
Self –leveling, solvent free, epoxy resin based floor coating system

KemFlor 517 SL is a solvent-less epoxy floor coating for use in industrial and commercial
environments. It produces a smooth, self-leveling finish with several advantages:

Uses
KemFlor 517 SL can be used where a durable and easy to clean floor surface is required. Some

Primer Application
After ensuring that the surface is free from all adverse factors, apply KemOxy
Concrete Primer a modified two component solvent less epoxy resin based primer.
Mix the entire content of the base and catalyst thoroughly and apply immediately to the surface by
brush or roller. Ensure proper penetration of the coating into the substrate. If the surface is
porous; apply a second coat of KemOxy Concrete Primer. Allow the primer to set for 8 hours but
not more than 16 hours prior to application of subsequent coats. Longer curing will require
abrading of primer for proper adhesion.

Mix KemFlor 517 SL in the ratios given below by weight. It is advisable to use entire contents of
each can to ensure accurate proportions and to enable estimation of consumption.
KemFlor 517 SL Application

Add the parts in the sequence below, under continuous stirring by a very slow speed electric
stirrer or jitty blade mixer fitted on an electric drill till the mixture is homogeneous. DO NOT MIX
BY HAND. Remove all material from each can. Scrape the sides of the container several times to
ensure complete mixing. Be careful to not introduce any air bubbles while mixing.

Since the mix ratio is critical to the performance of the flooring system, Quantity to be mixed
should be calculated beforehand based on the area to be covered and coating thickness desired.
Actual coverage will depend on texture, porosity, slope of the substrate.

using a serrated trowel. Immediately after the trowel application, a spiked roller should be used to
ensure a level homogenous surface free of voids and surface imperfections.

porcupine roller to produce a bubble free film. KemFlor 517 SL is designed for use without
solvents, use of thinners is not recommended.

Requirement/Need –

• Dust free environment for Asia’s largest

paint shop-400000 SFT in Rudrapur.
• Systems- 3mm epoxy SL

• Climatic condition – temperature -4oC-

8oC. , Relative humidity – 45%.
• Project completion time – 4 months

Solution:

• Surface Preparation: To enhance the mechanical bonding to

the substrate, shot blasting machine was used instead of
grinding.
• Product- Kemoxy Concrete (P) , 0.1 mm + Kemflor 521 2
mm + Kemflor 517 SL 0.9 mm
• Due to low temperature, we have warmed up the material to
achieve application viscosity.
• To acclimatize to the adverse conditions, surface preparation
was carried out in the night while application of the material was carried out in afternoon.
• Due to porosity of concrete, a seal coat had to be applied on epoxy screed.
• Asbestos sheet inserted in expansion joints which were 15 inch deep.
• Crack filling in concrete with Epoxy repair material to avoid future cracks in flooring.
• After laying epoxy flooring, expansion or contraction joint had to be opened and filled with polysulphide
sealant
• Three teams were engaged for the applications

Result:

• Floor is functionally sound after 2 years of application.

Company Profile:

used

the finish of top coat.
• Zero level undulation is the minimum basic
requirement in pharmaceutical industry. To
attain this, grinding was carried out not only
on the surface but also after application of
screed and seal coat.
 • Top coat was applied after 15 days of laying epoxy screed. Extra seal coat had
to be applied to activate the screed as the complete area was not available to
give a seamless finish.
• After laying epoxy flooring, expansion or contraction joint had to be opened
and filled with polysulphide sealant
