Teaching with Technology

In recent years integration of instructional technology (IT) into the university
classroom has become a significant part of education. As such resources for educating
and assisting faculty in this new arena have become crucial. Workshops on how to use
software are not always enough. Teachers need to understand the ways in which these
new tools can make a significant difference in student learning.
TEP's IT support staff is available to assist instructors in exploring different
potential technologies that create useful and productive student learning experiences.
offer instructors step-by-step instructions for using some campus-wide available
technologies (such as Blackboard and PowerPoint),
offer suggestions for how instructors might initiate and guide particular
technology-supported learning activities,
present the different roles technology might play in a classroom, and
Promote thinking and reflection about the best uses of technology in the
classroom.

Critical Thinking
Using Technology to Support Critical Thinking
How To Improve Critical Thinking Using Educational Technology

o The Reason! Project at the University of Melbourne has developed the
Reasonable software as part of a general method aimed at enhancing
critical thinking skills. This paper describes the challenge involved, the
theoretical basis of the Reason! Project, the Reasonable software, and
results of intensive evaluation of the Reason! Approach.

Collaborative Learning Enhances Critical Thinking

o The concept of collaborative learning, the grouping and pairing of
students for the purpose of achieving an academic goal has been widely
researched and advocated throughout the professional literature. The term
"collaborative learning" refers to an instruction method in which students
at various performance levels work together in small groups toward a
common goal. The students are responsible for one another's learning as
well as their own. Thus, the success of one student helps other students to
be successful.
And Action! Promote Problem-Solving with Web-based Action Mazes

o Is an application for creating Web-based Action Mazes? An Action Maze
is a kind of interactive case-study; the user is presented with a situation,
and a number of choices as to a course of action to deal with it. On
choosing one of the options, the resulting situation is then presented,
again with a set of options. Working through this branching tree is like
negotiating a maze, hence the name "Action Maze".

Multimedia and PowerPoint
Unleashing the Power of PowerPoint

o PowerPoint as a tool will not, in and of itself, improve student learning.
Its the way that instructors use PowerPoint that can encourage student
learning by strategically employing it to engage students in the learning
process, incorporating classroom assessment techniques and using
methods geared toward reaching multiple learning styles.
Incorporating Multimedia into Your Teaching

o One of the most important uses of technology is that it makes it easy for
instructors to incorporate multimedia into their teaching. While we use all
of our senses to take in information, we each seem to have preferences in
how we learn best. In order to help all students learn, we need to teach to
as many of these preferences as possible.

Understanding Digital Images

o Pedagogically speaking there are many reasons you might consider
adding digital images to your course content. To do it most effectively,
you need to know a little something about accessibility; inclusive
classroom considerations, copyright and fair use, file size, and format
options.

PowerPoint: Showing Chemistry Bigger Than Life

My opinion

Teaching with Technology has Become very important with the development of other areas such as
engineering, medicine, defense and aerospace, agriculture and science of the modern era. The field
of education has witnessed a great boom in the late twentieth century, but it is taking a drive and
gave us a broad dimensions at the beginning of this century. And education institutions competed
two types of public and private sectors in the direction to find and provide effective means to help
the student to learn easily and provides the ability to innovate effectively in the study and future
work. Include the means of modern education, computer and educational CD-ROM disks (CDs), and
the Internet means a sea of my knowledge and great learning, and the media audio and video such as
television, video and other modern methods. As technology has transformed other sectors, and
managed various means to change the way the helm of education and learning in the modern era.
Before we talk about the importance of technology in education, we have to know what is meant by
"technology education" and Mguetdadtha. Known as "technology education" as a means or an
integrated process involving theories of education, and ideas, and applications are on the way you try
to enter the means of modern technology to match and learning objectives of developing and
facilitating education, and to find viable solutions to the problems and learning difficulties faced by
the teacher and student. When RFID technology as devices and methods of computer and Internet
education to enrich the learning process becomes simple and easy to allow easily for those working
in the field of education to overcome these problems facing education.
If we talked about the importance of technology in the field of education, we find that this increase
in importance after the other. Today, because of the fact that our world a bilateral rapidly changing
and evolving, so had to specialists in the field of education to take risks in creative thinking to build
a permanent educational policy linked with modern technology. And should not only develop their
ability to survive from the era of digital information is very volatile, but they have to defeat those
challenges associated with them also. We have witnessed the end of the last century, beginning of a
trend rapidly towards directing the use of computers in developed countries, followed by Internet
access in the field of education in universities and various educational institutions, resulting in this
living environment is able to create an atmosphere is clean and wide use of technology in these
centers and educational institutions.
So we can be defined and the role technology can play in the field of education
1- Technology plays a role which helps guide the teacher in guiding the scientific
material for the student and the change from the traditional method of
education in explaining the lesson and the provision of information. The
technology - developed by all means - they can simply change a root-level
special education teacher and his ability in how to approach the student a way
that gives greater opportunity and easier to understand and receive the lessons.
This in turn will reflect the student's ability to develop mental abilities and
intellectual learning, and refine the creative talents and capabilities in their
studies and school activities.

2 - The way modern educational Kalkmpiotr be the focus of attention of
students for use in the field of education, taken as a guide or teacher assistant
guide them electronics, its programs and diverse functions in various learning
and discovering new talent and the development of mental abilities in various
subjects and educational. As well as the Internet opens a new chapter helps
11

students per semester may participate in educational activities in the field of
research and exchange of information through these activities.

3 - technology provides abundant source of the information needed by her
teacher and student alike. Internet has become a broad sea contains extensive
information such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, maps and other information
sources that are difficult to obtain through traditional search. In the time it
takes a teacher or professor days in his search for the information in a
particular subject, go online and takes no more than hours (or preferably
minutes) to get that information easily without stress.

4 - Technology as a source of communication open and wide branches became
the teacher and student in constant touch by talking over the internet. While
the teacher is sitting in front of his machine-mail, the student can
communicates with a mentor in the home via the Internet Vicuna so may have
made a new way to communicate, and open the door to connect and discuss
matters with the student in his study. Also communicates that the students can
continue to be each other with regard to their homework or their research
process. There is also to make the Internet a means of communication between
the teacher and the school, and between the teacher and other teachers.

5 - This expansion and the information explosion in the large field of
technology makes multi-media education versatile and wide-ranging, a
genuine and different functions in their positive impact in the way of
education and research information. The different ways of learning in their
specifications and its technology and capability in the field of education.
There is a disk or CD that contains educational material science student can be
used at home by himself, so he had achieved a way of self-learning. There are
also online with multiple educational sites and varied information and various
sources.

6 - Finally, the association of technology education in schools is becoming a
must inevitably missed. If the student must be geared to face the real world
turbulent technological and modern technology, after graduating from school.
It has become a most sectors of government work and require special expertise
and skill in the use of modern technology, including computer.
