Introduction

I am a mechanical engineer by profession, working in the field of industrial
production of electronic equipments and components for the past 18 years. Apart from
my professional activity, I was always fascinated by the mystic nature of the universe
around us. This kind of an intriguing approach has lead me to a consistent thinking about
the actual nature of the human mind, the reach of science in defining the phenomenon of
the nature and the real secrete of the nature itself. The cumulative effect of this kind of a
consistent thinking resulted in studying the mysteries of the nature with a deeper interest.
The resultant effect of the consistent thinking of the past several years is this book.

This book is a collection of independent research papers or speculative scientific
articles written over a period of last five years. The entire text is an outcome of an
independent study conducted in different fields of science and humanity during this
period. All the three articles are generally interdisciplinary in nature and are not confined
to a single field of science. The basic references for all the three articles are drawn from
general books of science. But, the conclusions are the possible realities for a distinctively
long-range future of the present civilization. These conclusions are highly speculative in
the immediate context of the present civilization. Hence, the contents of the text are to be
treated as a part of speculative scientific theory based on the scientific facts of the present
world and not as a part of real time science.

The first article is a critical analysis of the theory of the Big Bang. The most
mysterious of all the events in this world is the origin of the universe itself. The scientific
account of the origin of the universe is explained by the theory of the Big Bang. This
article explores the possible loopholes in the theory of the Big Bang by relating the
concept to the human mind and the possible derivatives in different planetary conditions
of existence in the universe.

The second article is an exploration of the mystery behind the massive extinction of
dinosaurs, which is supposed to have occurred around 65 million years back in this
planet. This article further explores the possible causes behind the Bermuda Triangle
mystery. The phenomenon of mysterious disappearances, which have occurred in the
Bermuda Triangle region during the twentieth century, contain the possible clue for the
mystery behind the massive extinction of dinosaurs. A further extension of this logic
provides a clue of what can happen in this planet in course of time.

The third article is an exploration of the possible eventualities in the unfortunate
situation of a massive nuclear conflict in this world. With the backdrop of a huge
stockpile of nuclear weapons all over the world, no one is sure about what really can
happen in the unfortunate situation of a massive global nuclear conflict. An attempt is
done in this article to explore the immediate consequences and the long-term possibilities
in the unfortunate event of a massive global nuclear conflict.

As mentioned earlier, the derivatives or the conclusions of all the three articles are
speculative in the immediate context and are not a result of any practical scientific study

based on the contemporary norms of science. As the range of each subject is extremely
vast, these conclusions are derived on the basis of a theoretical analysis and hence are to
be treated as a part of speculative science meant to serve as a guideline to explore the
future realities in the present civilization.

II The Zero Time Universe - A Review of its origin


For almost a century the theory of the Big Bang has been the scientifically accepted
model to explain the origin of the universe. Further, this theory has been supported by
enormous amount of practical data. Hence, any person thinking in a scientific way is
bound to believe that, the theory of the Big Bang is the ultimate reality to explain the
phenomenon of the universe. Rigorous attempts are being done to accurately calculate
the age of the universe or to arrive at the exact number of years since the event of the Big
Bang. But, the greatest mystery of the theory is the actual occurrence of the event of the
Big Bang itself. By all means the event of the Big Bang is an imaginary product of
reverse calculations from the present state of affairs of the universe. In most of the texts
which we read, generally the age of the universe has been estimated to be somewhere
between 10 to 20 billion years. The most interesting aspect to be noted in all these
calculations is the earth time, which has been used as the absolute parameter or the
yardstick for calculating the age of the universe. How far all these calculations based on
the parameter earth time are really true can be revealed by a critical analysis of time as a
concept in the minds of every one of us.
The aim of this article is to focus on hitherto neglected aspect of relating the human
mind with the planetary conditions of our existence. A differential analysis of how a
human mind can think in different ways in different planetary living conditions and
during the times of high velocity interstellar travel leads to the conclusion that, the
parameter earth time is not at all an absolute parameter within the universe and hence,
cannot be used to calculate the age of the universe. The essence of the universe lies in
creating an illusionary timed state within a timeless state or the zero time state of its
existence.


1. Concept of time - as related to the human mind:

Time is a concept in the mind of every living organism in the universe. It is a fused
entity, associated with every living organism in the universe, without which the mind of
any living organism or the humans becomes non functional. We are born with time, we
live with time, we age with time and we perish with time. Without the concept of time,
there is no life in the universe. Hence, time is one of the basic ingredients required for
existence of life in the universe. Always the mind of every living organism in the
universe exists in the present mode of time. The past mode of time is the memory backup
in the mind of every living organism in the universe and the future mode of time are the
events, which are yet to happen in the universe or which we are yet to come across. So,
past is a happening, which gets accumulated in the human memory, present is something,
which is happening right in front of our eyes and future, is something, which is yet to
happen, or we are yet to come across.

It may be little boring to go through the above lines as every sensible person is
fully aware of these things and there is nothing new in the explanations mentioned above.

But the very objective of writing this article is to explore a new concept of time, which
we are not exposed to. The objective definition of this article is to arrive at a new concept
of time, which is known as Zero Time. So, it is very essential to start with too trivial
concepts within which we are living, so that a gradual understanding of the new concept
arrives in the mind of the reader. Hence, an elaboration is done on the simple facts, to
which we generally do not attach much importance in our day today life. A careful
attempt is done to make the new concept as simple as possible.

At any moment of time, our mind is in the present mode or the other way of
defining the state of our mind is that we live in the present always. We are born with the
present, we live with the present and we end with the present. With reference to the
present, the past and the future can be defined. Hence the past and the future modes of
any event or occurring are linked to the present. This phenomenon is like unrolling of a
carpet or a film reel. The basic reference point for the past or the future lies always in the
present. The operational guidance for the human mind in its present mode is governed by
the past, which is generally accumulated in the form of a human memory. Memory is
again a variable, which changes from person to person. Some people are gifted with a
very good memory whereas some people may have a poor memory. But every mind has
a definite memory backup without which it is nonfunctional. It is just not possible to live
in this world without a memory backup within the mind. Whether a strong or a weak
memory, we must need a memory in our minds without which we cannot survive in this
world. So, the past and the present state of the mind are always clear. Present is fully in
front of us in the form of events which are happening right in front of our eyes and past
as a backup whether strong or weak which keeps getting updated as present unrolls into
the future. Invariably all the three feelings of the human mind coexist and every human
mind works towards the future after a calculated analysis of the past as a memory. Hence,
without the concepts of the past, the present and the future, the life cycle of a human
being is incomplete. In other words, we exist in this world because a definite concept of
the past, the present and the future exists around us.

The most important factor, which is associated with any human mind, is the link,
which exists between the planetary motion in the universe and the feelings of the past, the
present, and the future, which are governing our lives. The capability limitations of the
human mind or the understanding potential of the human mind has a definite link with the
planetary motion in the universe. It appears to be a strange statement, unless and
otherwise a careful thought is applied to understand the link between our existence and
the planetary motion. Now, consider the fact that a definite concept of time exists in the
universe because of the relative planetary motion of earth on its own axis and around the
sun. We have a clear definition of a day and a night because of the earths rotation around
its own axis with a consistent speed. Hence, the basic unit of time is originated relative to
the earths rotation around its own axis. Our biological clock is invariably fused to this
motion and this is the basic ingredient of our life or the basic foundation for the operating
system of the human mind. A definite time clock is fused in our minds because of this
planetary motion. Knowingly or unknowingly we are operating or living in this world,
with this as a fundamental link for our existence. Right from the time of our birth in this
planet we are continuously living with this link. Quite similar to any other fundamental

and biological requirements for existence of life, like, oxygen, water and food, we need
the basic unit of time fused deep in our minds as the operating time clock to live and
operate in this world. Without the concept of time there is no continuum in the process of
life. All human activities are based on the fundamental yardstick known as time or in
other words, all our activities and achievements are related to a yardstick known as time.

Further, the simple fact is that, the time period for a single rotation of the earth is
split into smaller fractions of hours, minutes and seconds. These are the smaller fractions
of the unit of time, which only enable us to plan our day today life and existence. Our
minds are invariably fused to these units of time and all our activities and happenings are
definitely related to these units of time.

2. Concept of time with a change in the status of the planetary motion:

Without the planetary motion of the earth, there is no feeling of time. In that case the
very concept of time disappears around us. Consider a strange situation when the earth
does not rotate around its own axis. This is a totally non-practical situation, but an
imagination like this is being done to visualize the eventual happenings in this condition
where the concept of time has to be redefined. Now, in this kind of a situation where the
earth does not rotate around its own axis, there can be two different types of living
conditions. One half of the earth continuously faces the sun and the other half of the earth
is continuously away from the sun. In other words, on one half of the earth it is always a
day and on the other half of the earth it is always a night. Whether life can exist or not in
this kind of a situation, due to lack of other life support parameters is a secondary issue.
An assumption like this is done at this juncture to visualize the difference in the line of
thinking that can originate in the human mind with a change in the status of the planetary
motion, which imparts a definite time clock to the human mind. As our minds are
permanently fused to the time clock imparted to us by the planetary motion of the earth,
we always tend to feel that whatever happens in front of our eyes is only the truth or the
reality. But, we generally do not think of the range of this reality. Anything, or any event,
which is logical within the range of our reality, may not be logical beyond the range of
our reality. The range of our reality is generally governed by the parameters of the
planetary motion within which we are living or in a broad based statement, we can say
that all our truths and realities are confined to the earth where we are living. The
visualization of what occurs in the mind of a person living beyond the range of our reality
is unknown. Hence, a visualization of a static or a non rotating planet is done to explore
the exact difference between the understanding potential of the human mind in the
present situation and the understanding potential in the changed situation where the
parameter or the yardstick of time is different.

Now, consider the first case where one half of the earth always faces the sun and it is
continuously a day. Further, let us imagine that a person is living in this kind of a
situation. Here, the position of the sun with reference to the earth is always fixed or the
sun is always overhead. It is always a day for the person living in this situation. The day
is continuous and never-ending. The concept or the practical occurrence of a night can
never happen in this situation as the earth does not rotate and there wont be any

beginning or end for the day. This day is always a day or an eternal day. Then, where is
the provision for unit of time, when the day never ends? There wont be any months or
the years to count upon. Even, there wont be any seconds, minutes or hours to count and
record the activities of the person. The very concept of time disappears from the mind of
the person who is living in this kind of a situation. The concept of the past, the present
and the future do not exist in the mind of the person. Simply, there is no provision to
visualize the past, the present or the future because there is no fundamental yardstick of
time fused in the mind of the person living in this kind of a situation. The person always
exists in a state of an eternal present. All activities seem to be in the present whether they
have already happened or are going to happen. The concept of the past, the present and
the future fuse themselves into a single entity known as the present. The words, yesterday
and tomorrow will not be having any meaning in the mind of the person existing in this
kind of a situation. Every thing and every activity is recorded in the continuous state of
existence known as the present. The concept of time gets totally erased from the mind of
the person. There wont be any universal objects or moving reference points in the view
of the person, which he can relate to visualize the past or the future. Further, the person
may visualize light as stationary or a flux like, than a traveling medium.

Again, a situation like this is totally impractical, but we need to imagine a situation
like this to understand the further concepts, which are narrated in this article. The concept
of time can originate in the mind of the person living in this kind of a situation only if a
universal object exists in front of him, which is executing a periodic motion. He can
relate the activities happening in his world with the periodic motion of the universal
object such as the sun or the moon. The very objective of visualizing this condition of
life is to understand the importance of the link, which every living organism has got with
the planetary motion of the earth. In the kind of the situation imagined here, where any
person is living on the face of the planet, which always faces the sun, all the derivatives
of the person are going to be totally different from the derivatives or visualizations of any
person living under normal conditions on this planet. What we conclude about any event
or any happening may be totally different from what the person as imagined in the above
said situation may conclude. As the basic or the fundamental yardstick of time is different
for persons in both the situations, the understanding potential of persons in both the
situations differs widely. What is true in one situation can be totally untrue in the other
situation. All the derivatives of our present world may not hold good in this kind of an
imaginary situation. What we feel as perfectly normal and scientific may be treated as
totally untrue in the imaginary situation. Or, what is perfectly normal and scientific in the
imaginary situation can be totally untrue in our normal situation.

This is because the understanding capabilities of the human mind vary in both the
cases. In our case where we live on the earth, the understanding capability of the human
mind and the capabilities to visualize the happenings and the activities of life are directly
linked to the basic operating unit of time, which is a derivative of the planetary motion of
the earth. Wherein, the imaginary case of the person living on the face of the planet,
which is always facing the sun the basic unit of time is de-linked from his mind and the
consequence is that, his understanding potential differs wildly from that of ours. What is
believed to be true by such a person is going to be totally untrue in our case.

This kind of a statement may look too premature to conclude unless we visualize
some practical examples of what happens when a similar event occurs in both the cases.
Now, consider the living conditions where we are living. We have a clear concept of time
due to the planetary motion of the earth. Further, we have a clear concept of mass, space
and time fused in our minds. We can never have a feeling that the universe is static.
There is always a periodic motion of the universal objects such as the sun, the moon, the
stars and other celestial bodies around us. All the conclusions of the present civilization
or all the fundamental theories of science, which we believe as true, are basically
developed over a period of many centuries by brilliant scientists, are based on this state of
mind within which we are living in this planet. In all the cases, the state of mind of the
person who has developed a new scientific theory and the state of mind of the common
people living in this planet are bound within similar living conditions of the planet.
Hence, there is always a common conclusion at the end. Any scientific theory has got a
validity and acceptance within the civilization, after a careful analysis is done by all the
interested people of the civilization. What seems to be correct for one person has to be
correct in the minds of other persons. This is the fundamental yardstick for acceptance of
any new theory. But, the most interesting fact, which is generally ignored in this kind of a
situation, is the limitation of the range of validity of any scientific theory. To what extent
our theories are valid, or whether what we conclude as true is really true or an illusion in
our minds can be analyzed with further clarity only when we delink the factor of time
from our minds.

The basic theory, which is presently valid in this civilization, is The Big Bang. This
has been derived based on the fact that the universe is gradually expanding. This is
clearly valid as the facts are universal and a clear motion of the galaxies is derived on the
basis of red shifts in their spectral patterns. As per the concept of the Big Bang, around
10 to 20 billion years back all the matter in the universe was concentrated at a single
point. The cataclysmic explosion of the Big Bang is the starting point or the beginning of
space and time. This concept is derived from reverse calculation of the state of affairs of
the present universe. It is quite natural to conclude like this as our state of mind can
actually observe the facts on which the theory is based.

But, somehow, we have to be extremely cautious in concluding whether this is the
absolute universal truth or not. The universe is extremely deceptive than what it seems to
be. Now, consider the case of a person who is living in an imaginary situation as
explained earlier where the planet is non-rotating. If the theory of Big Bang is presented
to him, what is going to be his reaction? Can he ever accept this as the absolute truth of
the universe? The answer is never. When the concept of time gets totally erased from the
mind of the person living in such a condition, where is the question of beginning? There
is neither any beginning nor any end. Life is always a continuous affair and the very
thought of past or the beginning cannot occur in the mind of this person. The person
tends to visualize that the universe is always static or a constant which never changes.

All the events happening around the person in such a living condition are quite
similar to the events occurring in our dreams. Generally when any person dreams, it is

extremely difficult for the person to recollect the time duration of a dream. All the events
occurring in a dream, even though they are sequential in nature, cannot be quantified in
terms of a real time yardstick known as time. For example, consider that a person dreams
of an event where he goes to a market and purchases some groceries. In a real life
situation, if the person goes to a market and purchases some groceries, then there is a
definite time duration required for this event. Imagine this time duration as one hour.
After this event of marketing is over, the person can quantify this event as the one
happened during a span of one hour. But if the same event occurs in a dream, in that case
the person cannot quantify this as an event with a real life yardstick of time. If any person
is dreaming, the actual time period of the events happened in a dream cannot be
recollected. The events happen in a state of flux where the yardstick for measurement of
time is missing. The word time has no meaning within a dream. After waking up, the
person can sequence all the events happened in a dream and calculate the actual time
required for such events in reality and know the total time duration for such an event in
real life based on his experience. This quantification of time is based on the previous
experience of the conscious mind of the person. But in the actual process of dreaming the
scale for quantification of time is absolute zero. All the activities and events seem to
occur in a state of flux where the concept of time does not exist. An activity or an event,
which can occupy a real time scale of a year or a month, can be squeezed into a zero time
scale in a dream.

At this juncture a brief review is required regarding the phenomenon of sleep and
the states of the human mind. The human mind has roughly two different states. The
conscious mind and the subconscious mind. Generally, in a sleep the conscious mind of a
person is at rest. Only, the subconscious mind of the person is active. All the activities
and events of the person occurring in real life are completely controlled by the conscious
mind. The subconscious mind only monitors the situation. The conscious mind has a
definite yardstick of time fused into it, which is basically required as a reference for all its
activities. Generally, when we are awake and carrying on with our day today work the
conscious mind is fully active. The conscious mind of any person rests only in a state of
sleep. During the process of sleep, the subconscious mind of the person is active. The
most interesting feature of the subconscious mind is that, it can operate without a fused
yardstick of time within itself. It is always independent of time. Time is not the basic
parameter required for its existence and operation. The very concept of time does not
have any meaning for the subconscious mind. All the events that we observe in a dream
are the ones occurring in ones subconscious mind and hence are not time related.
Probably, this is the main reason for difficulty in quantifying the time duration of
activities happening in a dream. An event, which requires a relatively large time period in
real life, can be squeezed into a very short time period in a dream.

It is generally observed that sleep has two phases. Non REM sleep (NREM) and
REM sleep. Dreams generally occur in a REM state of sleep. Here the word REM means
Rapid eye movement. The NREM state of sleep is further divided into four sub stages. In
all these stages the subconscious and the conscious minds are at rest. Movement of
eyeballs below the closed eyelids of the person cannot be observed in NREM state of the
sleep. In the next phase of sleep referred as REM sleep, the person actually dreams.

During this time period rapid flickering of eyeballs can be noticed below the closed
eyelids of the dreamer. A sleeping person undergoes NREM and REM phases of sleep in
cycles of 70-90 minutes of NREM followed by 10-20 minutes of REM. This sequence
NREM and REM repeats throughout the night. Roughly this is the mechanism of sleep
which all of us undergo every night. The elaboration on the mechanism of sleep and
dreams is being done at this juncture only to elaborate on the concept of zero time or a
timeless state of happenings.

Now, consider a situation where a physician is monitoring a sleeping person
experiencing a dream using an EEG (Electroencephalograph). In this case, the physician
can monitor the time duration of the dream. Consider that the person is dreaming of an
event where he is flying from Tokyo to Moscow. In a real life situation, this event can
stretch over a period of a few hours (probably around six to eight hours). Whereas in the
dream, the entire sequences of this event gets completed hardly within a few minutes.
This can be clearly monitored by the physician. But, for the person who is actually
dreaming, the time elapsed during the dream does not have a clear time duration. The
entire event occurs in a state of zero time, where time is a meaningless parameter for any
activity. The reason for this is, for the subconscious mind time is not a relevant parameter
for any activity. An event, which can spread over a period of many hours in real life, can
get squeezed into a timeless state or the zero time state.

For the conscious mind time is a prerequisite parameter to function in the normal
condition. Without the parameter of time our minds cannot function. When we are awake,
our conscious mind is fully alert and is perfectly synchronized with the earth time. All
our activities happen in a situation where the yardstick of time is inbuilt in our minds. We
always have an inbuilt yardstick of time fused in our minds due to the planetary motion of
the earth. Once we go to bed and gradually fall asleep our conscious mind rests. In this
kind of a situation the conscious mind gets de-synchronized from the earth time. We tend
to loose the concept of time as our conscious mind rests. During the period of sleep when
the conscious mind is at rest, only the subconscious mind is active. Upon getting up from
a deep sleep, the first thing our conscious mind tries to do is, to regain the lost link of
synchronization with the earth time. This is the precise reason why; the first thing we do
on waking up from sleep is to look at the clock or the wristwatch to know the earth time.
This phenomenon is like a car moving off the highway, running over open land for a
short distance and then again trying to come back on to the highway. In this process the
car tries to regain its lost track.

For the conscious mind no activity is possible without the synchronized link with
the earth time. In a civilized world, where we are used to wristwatches and clocks
everywhere around us, our tendency is to get synchronized with the earth time quite
frequently by looking at wristwatches and clocks. This phenomenon happens with every
one of us many times a day whether knowingly or unknowingly. As mentioned earlier
most of us have to look at the wristwatch or the clock immediately upon getting up from
the bed. This activity of getting synchronized with the earth time happens with every one
of us throughout our life times. This situation is quite similar but in a different way in a
countryside of any under developed nation, where poor people cannot afford the luxury

of wristwatches and clocks. Generally, the tendency of the public in such areas is to look
at the suns position or brightness of the daylight to get synchronized with the earth time.
Hence, the synchronization of the conscious mind with the earth time is absolutely
essential for governing the day-to-day activities throughout our lifetime. As this process
is invariably inbuilt in our minds and bodies we do not tend to attach much significance
to this activity.

Now, in the case of an imaginary person living on the surface of a planet which is
always facing the sun, all the activities and happenings around him seem to occur in a
zero time or a timeless state of the mind. In this kind of a situation, the conscious mind of
the person behaves like our subconscious mind, which is not linked to the earth time. All
activities and events occurring around such a person seem to occur concurrently in a state
of flux, without a clear time barrier between the activities. The past, the present and the
future collide into a single entity of zero time. The very word time carries no meaning for
such a person. This is quite similar to the situation occurring while we are dreaming,
when our subconscious mind is active, which does not have a requirement of
synchronized link with the earth time.

Within any person, the conscious mind and the subconscious mind co exist in a state
of mutually contradicting realities. What is reality for the subconscious mind need not be
a reality for the conscious mind. For example, when we are dreaming, the dream is a
reality for our subconscious mind. But, on waking up from sleep, we quickly brush off
the dream from our minds as an illusion, because the conscious mind takes over the
charge of our decision making function. For the conscious mind dream is only an illusion.
The contradiction in conclusions between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind
within a person is due to the fact that, each operates on a different time scale. Conscious
mind, when it is alert and fully active, always needs a synchronized link with the earth
time. Any activity or any event, which is not related to the earth time, has no meaning for
the conscious mind. This is the general state of existence when we are awake. During our
sleep our conscious mind rests and also gets briefly de-synchronized from the earth time.
During this period the subconscious mind is fully active and generally takes over the
decision making function. For the subconscious mind events in a dream are a reality. This
is because the subconscious mind does not have any prerequisite of a synchronized link
with the earth time. It can always operate independent of the earth time. An event, which
can happen over a long period of earth time, can happen in a state of zero time for the
subconscious mind. Hence, always there is a contradiction in conclusions between the
conscious and the subconscious minds within any person.

Generally the events occurring in any persons dreams need not be true in reality.
They are only the illusions, which occur when we sleep. But, the example of dreams was
chosen only to explain the phenomenon of zero time or the timeless state of affairs, which
occur, on a non-rotating planet.

Now, consider the second case, which can arise on the other half of the non-
rotating planet, which is always away from the sun. Here it is always a night or a never-
ending night. Now, imagine that a person is living in this kind of a situation. In this case

the ground level realities of the person are quite similar to the ones happening on the
other side of the planet, except for the fact that all the activities are nocturnal. All the
observations of the imaginary person are going to be similar in nature without a clear
time gap between the events. Also, as the person happens to live in a state of an eternal
night, a day is always mystery for such a person or rather it is a myth. But, still as all
other living conditions are quite similar, all activities happen in a state of zero time, but in
an eternal night. But, when the person looks at the cosmos, he can clearly see the stars
and galaxies like what we see at night. If a telescope is installed in this kind of a situation,
the person can observe the celestial bodies with clarity.

Now, consider what happens if the theory of the Big Bang is presented to such
a person. What is going to be his reaction? Probably, he will accept this as a fact and
partially agree with this theory. He can clearly observe the red shifts in the spectral
patterns of the distant galaxies and conclude that, the theory is trustworthy. Generally, the
observations of the universe from such a situation are going to be quite similar to the
earth based observations, except for the fact that, they are happening in a state of a
continuous night. The person can observe that the galaxies are speeding away from him
or his planet. But, the strange factor in this kind of a situation is that, the factor known as
time does not exist for any calculation. The word time is always a meaningless word for
such a person. The movement of galaxies derived on the basis of red shifts of their
spectral pattern is going to be an accepted fact, but always de-linked from the factor
known as time. Our observations from the earth are always earth time related. Whereas
the observations of the imaginary person in this case are quite similar but zero time
related. The other possibility is that, such a person can have a dilated unit of time, based
on the observations of relative shift in the position of stars as the planet revolves around
the sun on a yearly basis. Here the assumption is that the planet is revolving around the
sun with one side always away from the sun. In that case, what is one year for us gets
transformed into one basic unit of time for the imaginary person. Then all his calculations
will be based on this dilated unit of time.

The other way of visualizing life with different unit of time and its effect on our
minds is somewhat comparable to life on north and south poles. Generally, on any part of
the earth we are used to life within the limits of four fundamental directions, east, west,
north and south. All our activities and movements can be generally related with reference
to these four basic directions. Directions such as northwest, southeast etc. are mainly
derived from the four fundamental directions and hence, these are relative directions and
not fundamental or absolute in nature.

Now, consider the situation exactly on the geographic north pole and geographic
south pole of the earth. In case a person stands exactly on the north pole of the earth, then
for him the directions north and south do not have any functional meaning. The same
situation holds good for any person standing exactly on the south pole of the earth. In
both the cases the absolute directions north and south exist exactly in the vertical axis of
his body and hence do not have any operational significance. Further, the directions east
and west collide into a circular path and an absolute definition of east or west is difficult
to conclude. In such a case the tendency of the human mind is to loose directional

orientation with reference to the axis of the earth. In practical situation of the present
world, every flight moving in such a situation needs an external navigational support.

Now, in this kind of a situation if a person walks around without any external
navigational support in the polar regions, the tendency is to walk around in circular paths,
even if the person aims to walk in a straight path. After walking for a while in a straight
path the person may discover himself somewhere around vicinity of the starting point of
his walk. This is because, even though the person is thinking that he is walking in a
straight path, the directional disorientation in his mind forces him unknowingly to walk in
a circular path. Further, this can be attributed to the effect of collision of east and west
directions in a circular path. Probably, this may be the practical experience of several
polar explorers. This is an example narrated to explain how human activities can get
disoriented when the absolute directional parameters change around in our living
conditions. The change in living parameters in polar regions is not an exact analogy for
life on a non-rotating planet. In case of a non-rotating planet, the concept of time gets
disoriented from the human mind whereas in the polar regions directional disorientation
occurs in the human mind. This example is mentioned only for a relative comparison and
not for an absolute comparison. An absolute equivalent for such a living condition is
extremely difficult to simulate in our practical life. The situation of disorientation of time
in the human mind can lead to extremely contradicting conclusions about the realities of
life in the universe and its absolute nature.


3. Concept of time - as related to the Big Bang:


The observations made by Edwin Hubble and Humason at Mount Wilson during the
early part of the twentieth century have led to the present day theory of the Big Bang.
These are the extraordinary findings of the last century. A per their observations the
spectra of all the distant galaxies is red-shifted. Further it is observed that, farther the
galaxy more is the red-shift in their spectral pattern. This has resulted in the conclusion
that the galaxies are speeding away from us. The more the distance of any galaxy from
earth more is the speed at which the galaxy is moving away from us. But, the fact to be
noted here is that all the observations are earth bound. Our observations are always
linked to a factor known as earth time. For us time is a fundamental factor required for all
our conclusions. But, the question is whether is it really true for the universe?

At this juncture this question may look like a very silly doubt. How anything in the
world can be complete without including time as a variable? The very thought of keeping
away time as the primary variable from our calculations may look absurd to many
readers. Then the question arises how to go about calculating the affairs of the universe
without including time as a primary variable? When we know that time is the very spice
of our life, it is extremely difficult for anyone to visualize the state of affairs of the
universe which has no significance for the word time. Strictly speaking time is a factor,
which never exists for the universe. Whereas for all the living organisms including the
human beings time is the rail track essentially required for existence of life. Time is the

very spice of life without which we cannot exist. But, technically for the sake of
calculations we can ignore this factor known as time briefly for a while for calculating the
state of affairs of the universe. For example, consider that a marine creature like fish
develops intelligence like us and tries to think about the world. For the fish in the ocean,
the limits of its movements are the boundaries of the ocean. It can observe all the
happenings within the ocean and can start concluding about the mechanism of life.
Because the limit of its movement are confined to the boundaries of the ocean, the fish
tends to believe that, life can exist in a condition only where there is water. Can it ever
imagine that life can exist even outside water? Also, for the fish, as the confined
boundaries of its universe are the limits of the ocean water, all its conclusions are
definitely true within the ocean. But, none of its derivatives hold good beyond the
boundaries of water. This kind of an example may offend the ego of some of the readers.
In twenty-first century, how can we ever try to equate ourselves with a fish in the ocean?
But, when we consider that, the solar system is the ocean where we are living, all our
calculation may hold good only within the limits of the solar system. Beyond the
boundaries of the solar system the equations may change. Any way, this is the opinion of
a new school of thought. If we consider interstellar travel beyond the solar system,
considering the distances involved in reaching the nearest galaxies, the equations of time
and space may need a redefinition.

4. Concept of time during interstellar travel:

It may be difficult for any one to come to a concurrence with the idea that time is
not a variable for the universe. With the background realities of our life, it is quite true
for anyone, to ever accept this as the reality. But, temporarily, at least we should doubt in
this regard whether time is certainly a variable for the universe or not. After visualizing
the living conditions of a person on two sides of a non-rotating planet the basic suspicion
that arises is, whether time is an essential variable for the universe or not. For some
readers this kind of thinking may look absurd or insane. We are used to a life where we
are continuously synchronized with the earth time. The very question of life without the
variable of time may look as an utter nonsense. Without the variable of time no event in
this world is true for us. With this kind of a background it is quite natural for anyone to
conclude that imagining life without the variable of time is a meaningless statement or the
path of insanity. But, for a person on an interstellar trip at speeds nearing the speed of
light, life without time is always a way of life. These are the extremely contradicting
realities of life and time. For us on the surface of the earth, no event is true or valid
without being related to time. But, for an interstellar traveler, all events in life occur in a
state of zero time or somewhat near to this state depending on his speed of travel.

The practical feasibility of an interstellar travel at speeds nearing the speed of light
does not exist in the immediate context. The speed of light is 300000 kilometers per
second whereas the maximum speed attained by any manmade spacecraft is limited to
around 30 kilometers per second. This is far too less compared to the speed of light.
Hence, in reality space travel at speeds nearing to speed of light is only a part of science
fiction. In this article an assumption of interstellar travel at speeds nearing the speed of
light is done to visualize the practical realities of such a situation.

For an imaginary interstellar traveler at speeds nearing the speed of light time is no
more a basic ingredient of life, during his travel. Yesterday, today and tomorrow are the
meaningless words in his life during this travel. All events seem to happen concurrently
or at a very rapid interval of time slot between the events, which his mind cannot easily
observe. As the earth time rapidly shrinks towards the state of zero time things start
changing in his physical requirements. When his unit of time is related to earth time, he
may eat breakfast in January, afternoon lunch in June and dinner in the month of
December. Probably, his food requirements may drastically shrink with the shrinking of
earth time. Anyway, this is only a generalized explanation and not an exact calculation.
Further, there are two basic factors involved in the state of affairs of an interstellar
traveler. One is his physical aspect and the other is the psychological aspect. During the
period of travel as earth time shrinks in his mind, his psychological age slows down.
What exactly happens to his biological structure is somewhat a mystery. Whether such a
travel leads towards a retarded biological ageing, is to be confirmed with a practical
experimentation. Comparing his speed, with the speed of light, we can do the exact
calculations of his requirements. However, with the present level of materials technology
around us and the lack of a powerful propulsion system, an interstellar travel nearing the
speed of light is not a possibility in near future. But, the most important factor in the
psychological aspects of such a person is, he is no more linked to the earth time. He is
totally de-synchronized from the earth time. The life of an interstellar traveler is perfectly
all right without any requirement of earth time like us. Further, all the derivatives and
conclusions of such a person can be totally different from the derivatives of the same
person while on the earth. Before the interstellar journey, if he reads the theory of the Big
Bang, he may conclude this as the perfect reality. But, during the period of interstellar
journey, as he travels at speeds nearing to the speed of light, he may start thinking that
the Big Bang is not the correct conclusion for this universe. As he nears the state of
affairs at zero time he may start thinking that the Big Bang never occurred, it is only an
illusion, back on the earth. Once he realizes the truth during the space travel, upon his
return from the space travel, he may try to convince other people that universe is
extremely deceptive than what we really think about it from the earth. At the same time,
he will never be able to prove this to others on the earth, as all the persons around him are
perfectly hooked to earth time. Only he got a chance to de link himself from the earth
time and move towards the state of zero time during the process of interstellar journey.
Further, his friends on earth can get convinced about this phenomenon, only if they get a
chance for an interstellar trip to galaxies at speeds nearing the speed of light. In reality, as
of now this is only a fantasy or an extended visualization for the cause of zero time and
not an immediate subject for experimentation.

Another curious factor to be noted in an interstellar travel is the synchronization
and de-synchronization required for the traveler during different phases of the journey.
Now, for example imagine that a journey is planned to a planet in a solar system around 5
light years from earth. At the beginning of the travel, the astronauts mind is hooked to
earth time. Gradually, as the speed of his travel increases towards the speed of light, his
mind and body shift towards a state of zero time. He continues to exist in this stage
during the travel. Once, he nears the planet on the other solar system, he has to reduce his

speed, and gradually arrive and get synchronized with the time sequence of that particular
planet. On his return journey, the entire sequence repeats till he arrives back on earth and
gets hooked back to the earth time like us. This phenomenon is somewhat similar in
nature to the experience of the present day astronauts who live in a state of zero gravity in
their space travel. But, upon their return from the space, they get hooked back to earths
gravity like all of us.

But, on the earth as our conscious minds are continuously bound with the earth time
and also, as the possibility for experimentation of such a phenomenon are not easily
available, only thing we can do is to imagine such a travel and fantasize the different
possibilities in such a situation. This is only an attempt in this regard.

A perfect synchronization of the human mind with the state of zero time can occur as
the interstellar traveler increases his speed in space and tries to reach the speed of light.
During such a period he can be in perfect harmony with the universe. Further, he can
realize the universal truths in a clear way. But, this is a long way to go. The objective of
the concept of zero time is, to conclude the realities of the universe in a different way
than the hitherto conventional way of concluding based on the earth time. It may look to
be very strange to begin with. But, a careful and a rational thinking is required before
concluding this as a fact. As mentioned earlier, this is only an initiation for a new school
of thought. By all means, it appears as though we are trapped by the deceptive trick of
the illusionary universe, which is extremely stealth in nature of its activity. We have to
carefully, de-link ourselves from this trap to arrive at a different reality. Does it mean to
say that, should we discard all the earth bound realities and all the beliefs as of now?
Possibly, never. All the ground level realities and the calculations regarding day-to-day
life are perfectly all right with earth time as the basic parameter. The zero time realities
are for only concluding that actual nature of the universe is different, a non-expanding,
static or a constant.

With this kind of thinking, temporarily, we may have to doubt whether the word
time has any meaning for the universe or not. For the universe time is always still. Time
neither begins nor ends for the universe. Only for us, because we are earth bound, time
begins and ends in the form of days, months and years. For the universe all the activities
seem to be happening concurrently in a state of zero time. All events happen for us
sequentially with a direct link to the earth time. Also, all our calculations based on earth
time may not be the conclusive ones for the state of affair of the universe. We exist and
end, but the universe always exists. The happenings in a state of zero time for the
universe are extremely strange and beyond the limits of normal imagination and cannot
be quantified in a single theory by a single person. But, for us back on the earth, all
events get stretched to our earth bound requirement of earth time. The universe seems to
be static or a constant in nature and imparts us an illusion of expansion for our minds by
deceptively linking our minds to the earth time. One person in a single theory cannot
conclude this line of thinking. Only the line of thinking can be initiated.

5. Age of the Universe:

Now, again consider the concept of the Big Bang. According to the concept,
around 10 to 20 billion years back the Big Bang occurred. This is the beginning of space
and time. At the time of Big Bang all the matter in the universe was concentrated at a
single point. The cataclysmic explosion of the Big Bang is the starting point for this
universe. When we carefully observe these statements, all our statements are based on the
earth time as the fundamental yardstick for calculating the affairs of the universe. But, for
the universe, earth time has no significance. All events and all activities happen in a state
of zero time or in a timeless state The very word beginning of time does not make any
sense for calculating the state of affairs of the universe. The significance of earth time is
extremely enormous in our case as we are earth bound. It is an absolute necessity for our
living. We are desperately depending upon this yardstick for the functioning of our
conscious mind. We can never imagine life without earth time. Hence, it is quite logical
for us to use this as the basic parameter for calculations of all the earth bound events.
But, is it logical to extend the same parameter beyond the range of validity of the
parameter? 10 to 20 billion years back means a considerable slot of earth time. For our
minds on the earth this is fairly a very long span of time, especially considering our life
spans. But, for the universal events happening in a state of zero time 10 to 20 billion
years may not be of any significance. When time never exists where is the question of 10
to 20 billion years? All these figures are significant for the limited range of earth bound
calculations. We are bound to calculate like this not because of any fault of ours. It is
because the deceptive universe binds our minds, especially our conscious minds with a
tricky link synchronized with the planetary motion of the earth. We are bound to ignore
this fact, as it is a part and parcel of our life, throughout our lifetime, like oxygen and
water. But, this illusion can come out of the human mind during the period of very fast
interstellar travel to other galaxies. Calculating the beginning point of the universe is like
searching for the starting point of a circle while moving in a circular path. If we are
moving in a circular path and are trying to locate the starting point of the circular path,
then there is no end. By any calculation every point can be the starting point or an end
point. A circle is always an endless loop. Similar is the case with the universe. Universe
always exists in a timeless state of existence, which is generally referred as the zero time
state.

One more line of thinking prevailing in the field of cosmology is that the universe
expands till a certain point and then the process of contraction begins. The entire mass
within the universe collapses back into a single point in this process. The main reason
attributed to this contraction is the internal gravitational forces within the galaxies. If the
universe undergoes a cyclical process of expansion and contraction in a sequential
manner, then the question arises as to how many cycles of expansion and contraction can
take place in a universe. For example if we consider that 100 billion years of earth time is
the time period required to complete a cycle of expansion and contraction, even then one
cannot arrive at the exact point of beginning of the universe. It is extremely difficult to
arrive at the number of expansion and contraction cycles which the universe has
completed and how many more to be completed. It is not possible to answer this kind of a
question. The natural logical or the mathematical answer for this question is infinity.

Even then the exact point of beginning of the universe remains untraceable within
infinity. The phenomenon of the universe seems to evade all the scientific logic of
interpretation of its behavior. The basic problem for all these calculations is the parameter
earth time, which is considered to calculate the age of the universe.

This phenomenon can be easily explained by the following example. Now consider
that a person is swimming in a swimming pool. The task to be given to the person is to
measure the volume of water within the swimming pool using a bucket without moving
out of the swimming pool and without spilling water out of the swimming pool. If the
person starts measuring the volume of water within the swimming pool with the bucket,
then there is no end to his misery. Any number of buckets of water, which he measures
and counts, fall back within the same volume of water in the swimming pool and get
recycled. Similarly, in cosmology, earth time is our bucket and the universe is our
swimming pool. We will never be able to quantify the age of the universe using earth
time as the measuring bucket.

6. Concept of zero time in day-to-day life:

Now, for the common reader, what is the simple meaning of zero time? It may be
difficult for some of the readers to visualize the state of affairs at the speeds nearing the
speed of light. Hence, a simple definition of zero time can be arrived at by
experimentation with ones sleep. Now, consider a simple experiment where a person
sleeps in a perfectly darkened room (with an ample scope for ventilation) so that no
daylight enters the room. Further, there should be no wristwatches, clocks, Televisions
and radios around. There should be no modern gadget around the person, which can
provide a hint of earth time around the person. Now, consider that the person under
experimentation enters the dark room at 10 pm. At that moment the persons conscious
mind is perfectly synchronized with the earth time of 10 pm. Once he falls into a deep
sleep, gradually, his conscious mind gets de-linked from the earth time and he tends to
loose the concept of time in his mind. Only the observer outside the room can observe the
earth time duration of his sleep. Now, consider that, the person sleeps for 8 hours
continuously and wakes up at 6am. Now, in this kind of a situation, as the room is
perfectly dark and devoid of any modern gadget, which can provide him an indication of
earth time, on getting up it is extremely difficult for the person to confidently conclude
the exact duration of his sleep. Only the observers outside the room know that he has
slept for exactly 8 hours. But, for the person who has slept, the feeling of 8 hours cannot
occur in the conscious mind unless he looks at the daylight or a clock or a wristwatch.
During this process of 8 hours of sleep the conscious mind of the person was in state of
zero time or a timeless state. This is the state of the mind of a person when he cannot have
a feeling of time. Even if the person dreams during the entire period of 8 hours of sleep,
still he cannot quantify the time duration of his dream in terms of earth time. This is
because the person dreams in the subconscious state of the mind and the subconscious
mind is not time related. This is the precise trick of the nature, which unknowingly binds
our conscious minds with the requirement of a continuous link with the earth time. Or
rather, we are continuously addicted to the earth time for functioning in this world. Earth
time is the implicit spice of our life throughout our lifetimes. Without this factor we are

non functional in this world. The most contradicting reality of our life is that we shift on
and off from earth time state to zero time state of our conscious mind regularly on daily
basis. When we are awake and are fully alert our conscious mind is continuously hooked
to the earth time. Or we are operating in the earth time state. This is the conscious state of
our mind, which controls our activity and conclusions regarding all aspects of our lives.
When we are fast asleep, our conscious mind is at rest and enters a state of zero time.
During this period it looses track with the earth time. This phenomenon repeats
throughout our lifetime on a daily basis. This is precisely like swinging of a pendulum,
which oscillates from one end to the other end repeatedly. This example holds good for
the conscious mind only, whereas our subconscious mind is continuously in the zero time
state throughout our lifetime. The earth time state and the zero time state of the conscious
mind are like the two faces of the same coin. Both mutually contradict each other in
conclusions and at the same time coexist concurrently in ones mind. In reality most of
our decision-making is done by observations of the universe in the earth time state. Or in
other words, all our conclusions are earth based.

But the basic question is, how far our conclusions are really true when applied to
the state of affairs of the universe? Hence the basic doubt arises about the absolute
validity of the concept of the Big Bang. By a clear analysis of our minds and by
nullifying the relative effect of the earth time from our minds we may probably arrive at a
different conclusion.

7. Possible deviations from the concept of the Big Bang:

Another factor to be noted in the concept of the Big Bang is the state of the matter
and space at the moment of the Big Bang. As per the concept, around 15 billion years
back all the matter in the universe was concentrated at a single point infinitely hot and
dense. This is the beginning of space and time.

Now, in this statement we have four variables used to define the concept. They
are, matter or mass, energy, time and space. The constituents of the mass are the basic
particles, mainly the protons, neutrons, electrons and neutrinos. Energy was in the form
of intense heat of the matter. The other controversial variables are time and space. As
explained earlier time is not at all a variable for the universe. Universe always operates in
a state of zero time. Time is only a concept in our minds, which is valid for calculating the
earthbound realities. The other basic doubt is regarding space. It is quite possible
theoretically to compress all the matter in the universe to a single point. But, how all the
space in the universe can be concentrated into a single point?

Now, consider the simple example of compressing all the matter in the earth to its
minimum possible volume. Theoretically, if all matter in the earth is compressed to its
minimum possible volume, it can occupy a volume of less than a table tennis ball. As the
actual volume of the basic particles (protons, neutrons and electrons) is negligibly small,
the inter-atomic space and the intra-atomic space occupy the vast volume of space in any
matter. Hence, when all the basic particles in the earths matter are brought together,
eliminating the inter-atomic space and the intra-atomic space, then the volume of

concentrated matter can be very small. Matter becomes intensely dense in this process. In
this case the point to be noted is that, while the matter can be compressed to reduce its
occupied volume, the volume occupied by space before and after the compression remain
the same. The space occupied by the matter before the compression remains as a
laboratory vacuum without any change in the volume even after the compression of the
matter. Only the basic particles can be brought together. But the space remains as a space
without any change in the volume. Matter can be compressed or stretched within a space
but can we ever compress or stretch space? It is rather impossible. Space remains as an
integral and unchanging parameter in this process.

This process is like compressing a piece of sponge. If a piece of sponge is
compressed to eliminate all the trapped air within it, volume of the actual matter can be
reduced enormously. But, in this process the volume of air, which gets squeezed out of
the sponge, remains unchanged. So, when the space cannot be compressed, the question
of beginning of space can never arise. Space always remains as static or unchanged. So,
this is one more basic doubt arising in the concept of the Big Bang. Even if we accept
that all the matter in the universe was concentrated at a single point about 15 billion years
back, even then all the space in the universe cannot be concentrated into a single point.
Hence the major doubt in the concept of the Big Bang is the statement beginning of space
and time. Neither space nor time can begin or end. They are always static in nature. Only
because of the illusion imparted on our conscious minds by the trick of nature, we feel
that they are variables.

The other basic question is how such enormous amount of matter can occupy a
single point? This basic doubt holds good equally for the concept of the Black Holes.
How such a large amount of matter can ever be compressed into a single point ridicules
any logic. For centuries, all our concepts are based on the fact that, matter or mass is
indestructible. It can only be converted into other forms of matter or energy. This fact is
quite true in the entire earth bound phenomenon. Any deviation from this notion is
technically not acceptable. But, the basic question is how far this is really true in space?
Further, what happens to matter when it tries to reach the critical speed of light? No
doubt, its mass increases enormously and size reduces drastically. But, beyond this
critical point, does it become a part of space rendering itself invisible? A clear picture is
yet to be formulated in this regard. Hence, the hypothesis to be arrived at this juncture is
that, inter-atomic space and intra-atomic space within the matter hold the mysterious
capability of rendering matter unseen. Or inter-atomic space and intra-atomic space can
swallow the matter into oblivion? But, back on the earth, our earth time bound conscious
minds cannot understand this phenomenon is the question. The answer is still not clear at
this juncture. The mysterious relation between matter and space is yet to be unlocked.
Perhaps, the limitation in the capability of the earth time bound conscious mind is the
hindrance for visualizing this phenomenon. Further, the absolute nature and volume of
space is not clear. Hence, at this point the exact relation between space and matter is
subject to further thinking. The hypothesis in this regard is only a temporary conclusion.

By this kind of thinking about time, space and matter a very serious doubt arises
regarding the very event of the Big Bang itself. Especially in the first instance, whether

did it take place at all? Or we are beating around the bush in vain? It is quite true that
even now, the red shifts in the spectral pattern of distant galaxies are noticeable. But, the
basic issue here is that, the Big Bang is only a theoretical model for the universe based on
reverse calculation from the present state of affairs. But, when the concept of time is de-
linked from the universe, the answer may be different.

Then the question arises, what is the actual state of the universe?
In the absolute sense, the universe seems to be static or a constant. In the relative sense,
with reference to the effect of planetary motion on the human mind and the influence of
time on us, the universe appears to be a dynamic network of matter and space with the
illusion of time interlinking each other. Time is not at all an absolute parameter for the
state of affairs of the universe. Time is only an illusion imparted on our minds by the
motion of light and the relative motion of the earth within the solar system. With
reference to the earth as the basic platform all events in the universe occur sequentially
with a time gap between the events. With universe as the basic platform all events within
the universe occur concurrently without any time gap between the events. This is the
absolute meaning of the zero time state of existence of the universe.

Further, matter and space appear to possess the stealth capability of replacing each
other within the dynamic network of the universe. Time is an absolute parameter only
within the limits of illusion of motion of light and relative motion in the planetary system.
Universe always exists in a state of zero time.

It may be extremely difficult for many readers to deviate from the conventional
concepts and agree with these kinds of unconventional concepts. But, on a long run, the
absolute reality and the conceptual model of the universe may be totally different from
the present day concept. Hence, this line of thinking is initiated to ascertain the absolute
reality about the universe.

on the life of the common citizen. If we compare the quality of life of the common
citizen, at the end of the nineteenth century and at the end of the twentieth century, there
is a total difference in all fronts of life. The awareness level about the world has totally
expanded in all aspects of the society. The amenities required for day today life are
totally modern. All this is attributed to the developments in the fields of science and
technology.

Consider the planet where we are living, which has millions of different types of
living organisms. Of all the living organisms, the Homo sapiens have the unique gift in
the form of the human mind. The creative capability of the human mind alone is
responsible for the tremendous growth in this advanced civilization. We have the unique
power to think and to explore into new frontiers. The higher the limit of exploration and
new discoveries, higher is the quality of life of the common citizen. When compared to
the Homo sapiens, the development in the brain structure of other species is extremely
limited. The thinking capability and the creative potential of the human mind are
unparalleled. This creative potential alone has resulted in a tremendous leverage for the
Homo sapiens over all the other living organisms in this world. As a result there is a total
dominance of the Homo sapiens, all over the world.

Just try to visualize the life in this planet during the fifteenth or sixteenth centuries.
The discoveries and developments during those times were very much limited. Social life
was restricted with the religions overshadowing all aspects of the society. Probably, God
was the central figure for all the origins. All the social activities were confined within the
barriers dictated by the religion. People lived in different parts of the world with different
religions dominating the social life in each case. The very thought of going beyond the
barriers dictated by the religions was considered as a sin. Scare was everywhere,
whenever it comes to the point of accepting any new idea. The earth was the central
figure in this universe. From that kind of a situation, there was a gradual shift in the
social lines of thinking over a period of last four to five centuries. With the new
discoveries floated by different scientists gaining acceptance, the barriers in the mind of
the society have stretched. There is a considerable degree of rationalization in social
thinking. Scientific thinking is the present way of life. The understandings about the
universal facts have reached a new dimension. Now, the earth is no more the central
figure in the universe.

We are a part of the vast universe, which is ever expanding. The exploration of the
universe has been a continuous process. Every day a new fact is coming into light.

Ignorance is gradually being replaced by awareness. There are some extra-ordinary
achievements in the field of space technology from the moon landing to the exploration
of the solar system. These are really spell bounding. The excitement is universal.

In this ultramodern civilization there are very few unknowns, which are yet to be
conquered. There are several events, which have happened in the prehistoric world, and
which are occasionally repeating in some parts of the world, are still mysterious in nature.
Some of these events, which have happened in this world are not easily explainable with
a certain and a credible scientific theory.

An attempt is done in this article to analyze the facts and the probable causes, which
may be responsible for such events in this world. If we go through the process of
beginning of life and evolution of species in this planet, the mass extinction of dinosaurs,
which has reportedly occurred in this planet around 65 million years back, is one of the
long standing puzzles. The present valid theory to explain this phenomenon is that, an
asteroid colliding with the planet 65 million years back is responsible for this extinction.
But, in the process of evolution of species, there has been one more mass extinction of
living organisms in this planet, which is reported to have happened around 225 million
years back. The reasons attributed for this kind of extinctions are quite different. But if
we carefully analyze both the cases, there is a common phenomenon during the process
of mass extinctions. A considerable percentage of the living organisms existing in the
world during those times vanished in the process of extinction. As per the present
understanding of various texts, the cause of extinction is different in both the cases. Now
let us consider both the cases in detail to analyze the cause of what probably could have
happened during those unfortunate times.

As per various texts life began in the universe approximately 3.5 billion years back.
Since then the process of evolution of life has been a continuous phenomenon. In this
process of evolution, life has diversified into millions of types of plants, animals and
marine organisms. To have a brief idea regarding the process of evolution and the
subsequent mass extinctions, one has to go through the following extract, from the
chapter The Story of Life on Earth of the book Atlas of the World published by The
Readers Digest Association, Inc.,

* Flowerings and Extinctions:
Like a mountain stream, the flow of life seems to have gone through a
series of long and relatively quiet periods, interrupted by moments of sudden and
dramatic change. At each of these gates up to half of all living organisms, both in the
ocean and on the land, quite rapidly disappeared. Those that survived emerged into a
world of opportunity, rich with ecological niches left empty by the death of their
predecessors. At these moments, organisms have suddenly radiated into a proliferation of
new forms.

As mentioned in this extract, it is quite clear that in the process of
evolution of life in the world, there have been some sudden discontinuities at very large
intervals of time. These are the probable cases of mass extinctions after which a
considerable change was induced on the pattern of subsequent evolution of life in this
world. The first such extinction is reported as, probably happened in this world around
225 million years back. Subsequently around 65 million years back one more event of
mass extinction is reported to have happened in this world. The exact causes are different
for both the reported cases of mass extinctions.

Now, consider the first reported case of mass extinction, which is
supposed to have occurred 225 million years back. During this time, the planet was
saturated with different types of living organisms on the land as well as in the oceans.
The planet was dominated by Rhinesuchus- a crocodile like fish eating amphibian,
Dicynodons a type of plant eating reptiles, Millerosaurus- an insect eating reptile and
many other types of living organisms. But, in the event of sudden extinction, which
occurred 225 million years back, many of these creatures vanished. The cause for this
massive extinction is generally attributed to a major shift in the global landmass at that
time. The common theory prevailing at present is that, the super continents at that time,
Laurasia in the north and the Gondwanaland in the south came together to form a single
landmass, which is known as Pangaea. It is believed that, the pattern of the ocean
currents changed during this fusion of landmass. The subsequent changes in the seasons
were supposed to be very severe. Further, this resulted in very wide fluctuation of food
supply on the land. Probably, there was a severe change in the ecology, resulting in the
destruction of plant systems. It is also reported that, the area of the continental shelves,
which was richest of all food supply environments in the world, was reduced by half in
the process of this fusion of landmass. Considering the theory of shifting of continents
and the observed continuous movements of continents, by a methodical reverse
calculation from the present state of affairs, it is quite likely that such an event could have
occurred. In this process of major shift of continents at that time and the subsequent
severe changes in the living conditions in the world, a major catastrophe is supposed to
have been experienced by the life on the earth. In this process of the mass extinction,
about half of all the species alive at that time disappeared. This process of extinction is
supposed to have wiped out about seventy-five percent of amphibians and about eighty
percent of the reptiles present at that time. In the subsequent process of the pattern of
evolution, these creatures never reappeared. Whatever may be the cause of massive
extinction, the fact to be accepted here is that, something strange occurred to all the living
organisms in the world at that time.

Now, consider the second case of mass extinction, which is
supposed to have occurred in this world about 65 million years back. During that time,
the dinosaurs ruled the world. Probably, hundreds of variety of them lived on the land. In
this event of massive extinction, all the marine reptiles, all the flying reptiles and entire
family of dinosaurs are supposed to have vanished. To explain the cause of massive
extinction of dinosaurs, several theories are prevailing at present. One of the possible

causes is supposed to be a massive solar flare. It is visualized that a massive solar flare
caused abnormal rise in the atmospheric temperature and the radiation from the solar
flare resulted in glandular abnormalities in living creatures, resulting in the death of a
majority of living organism at that time. The second theory is that, during those times,
poisonous plants had over dominated the ecology. The herbivorous dinosaurs perished
because of plant poisoning and subsequently, the carnivorous dinosaurs perished because
of lack of food, as they were dependent on herbivorous dinosaurs for food. The third
theory is based on the great retreat of the seas during those times. The sinking of seas
dried up the fertile swamps resulting in drastic reduction of food rich zones. The retreat
of seas had further effect on the climate as more land was exposed to atmosphere. The
ambient temperature dropped drastically and also, the atmosphere dried further. This
resulted in mass extinction of dinosaurs due to cold and starvation. But, the most likely
cause is considered as a massive meteorite or an asteroid colliding with the planet,
resulted in wiping out all the living organisms in the world, at that time. This is the
contemporary acceptable explanation for this extinction.

An asteroid colliding with the planet can result in considerable
amount of damage to the living organisms and ecology. The eventualities can be horrible.
All the life support parameters can get wiped out in the world for many years. The shock
wave produced by the collision of the asteroid can produce huge turbulences in the
atmosphere. The impact of an asteroid on oceans can result in huge tidal waves, which in
turn sweep over all the continents. This can drastically affect the life on the planet. The
impact of an asteroid on the land can result in a huge shockwave in the atmosphere and
further the atmosphere can get saturated with dust resulting in blocking of sunlight for
many years. Normal life can begin only hundreds of years after the event. In this kind of
a process, even if a few dinosaurs had managed to survive, subsequently they would have
multiplied into hundreds and thousands and reoccupied the planet in full. But clearly this
kind of an event has not happened. Otherwise, we would have been lucky enough to see
some of the dinosaurs in our zoological parks.

As mentioned in the extract, the life on the planet seems to have
gone through a series of long and relatively quiet periods, followed by sudden changes or
the extinctions as we call them. The fact to be noted here is that, life in this world gets a
reshuffle, probably when it reaches a certain level of saturation. Saturation means, the
planet was probably occupied with a massive number of the living organisms with a
limited prospect for further growth. In this kind of a situation there seems to be an
ecological imbalance in the world. This can occur with over breeding of the living
organisms present in the world at that time. In the sudden process of massive extinctions,
which have occurred, a majority of life on the land as well in the oceans has disappeared.
Even though, several theories are prevailing at present to explain the possible causes of
mass extinctions, it is extremely difficult to arrive at the correct cause for such a
happening. Further, always there is a scope for new line thinking. These kinds of mass
extinctions of the prehistoric world have always been a mystifying phenomenon for the
present world.

At this juncture, it may occur to the mind of the reader, as to why
an analysis of mass extinction of dinosaurs has to be done when several theories exist,
which are proposed on the basis of scientific facts and actual studies. Why at all an
analysis has to be done on the events, which have happened in this world millions of
years, back? Probably, this kind of an analysis is basically required to analyze the
probable future continuum of the present civilization. Considering the fact that we are
living in the same world where, once upon a time the dinosaurs lived, we should not
ignore the possibility of similar events repeating in the present world. The nature seems
to be more deceptive than what we imagine about it. Hence an attempt is done to
visualize, one more possibility of what probably could have happened in this world
during those unfortunate times. At times, the attempt may look like an utter nonsense,
because at present there is a considerable amount of information available in the world to
support the existing theories. But the analysis, which is done in this article, is
fundamentally based on certain weird phenomenon, which is happening in this world and
is subjected to a continuous neglect as non-event. This analysis is based on the principles
of probability and actual facts, which are generally reported in several books. Also, this is
only an analytical model for thinking and not an experiment, which can be scientifically
simulated in a controlled environment. In this process of analysis, the mysterious events,
which are reported from the region, commonly referred as the Bermuda Triangle, are
given a serious consideration.


2 The Bermuda Triangle A Case of a Smoking Volcano?


Now, let us try to consider the case of the infamous Bermuda Triangle mystery in detail.
There are several books written by several authors, which narrate in detail regarding the
weird phenomenon, which are said to have occurred in this infamous region. Generally,
the region bounded by Bermuda in the north, Florida in the west, and a point in the ocean
in the vicinity of 40-degree west longitude is considered as the Bermuda Triangle. This
region is known for certain weird occurrences, which have been reported over a period of
last four centuries. Right from the times of Columbus, several mysterious occurrences are
reported from this region. The experience of Columbus in this region is quite notable. In
June 1494, during one of his voyages he is reported to have observed an unusual
whirlwind, which sank three of his ships by turning them three or four times about. This
phenomenon is supposed to have occurred in a situation, where the ocean was very calm
and there was no storm or roughness around the region. Apart from the observations
made by Columbus about this region, in modern times we have record of several unusual
events, which are said to have occurred in this infamous Bermuda Triangle. In the book
Without a Trace written by Charles Berlitz a detailed list of 143 cases of mysterious
disappearance have been reported in the chapter Voyages to Oblivion A Roll Call.
This list indicates in detail, in chronological order of dates, the cases of mysterious
disappearances, which have occurred in this region. This list includes the cases of large
ocean going freighters, oil tankers, small and large planes, civilian as well as military
ones and even the cases of mysterious disappearances of individuals such as scuba divers
and light house keepers. Apart from the detailed cases of practical disappearances, which

have happened in this region, several cases of unusual sightings are also reported in this
book in detail. As mentioned earlier, there are several books published by various
authors regarding these kind of weird events occurring in this region. Apart from the list
of recorded cases of mysterious disappearances, there is every chance that hundreds of
such cases would have gone unrecorded or covered under a veil of secrecy, in case the
lost ship or plane happens to be that of military application. Also, there is every chance
that, some persons who have practically witnessed such an event, keep silent as reporting
of such an event, may invite quite irritating investigation. There is always a chance of
such a report being treated as a fabricated story. But, one cannot deny the fact that, such
weird events are still happening in this ultramodern world and there is no satisfactory
scientific explanation for these events. The general practice is that, after a certain amount
of investigation, such events are forgotten from the mind of the public.

The practical disappearance of any physical object, such as a ship or a plane
is extremely difficult to digest, as this kind of an event never suits into the framework of
any present day scientific theory. No one can arrive at an absolutely logical and scientific
explanation for this kind of an event. With this kind of a background, the common
practice of anyone is to treat the event as a mystery. There is every chance that some of
the reported events are fake or fabricated for the sake of publicity. But, can we ever
imagine that, a person like Columbus can fabricate a story for the sake of publicity?
When such events are being reported from this region, right from the times of Columbus,
probably, we should give a serious thought to such events. If we consider the detailed list
of disappearances, which have happened in this region, the events like the disappearance
of Flight 19, which happened on December 5,1945, and several cases of disappearances
of large ocean going vessels and civilian flights can never be fabricated. Hence, an
analysis is attempted in this chapter to arrive at a possible scientific model of explanation
for these events.


a. Localized Reaction in the Bermuda Triangle Region:

If we carefully scrutinize the events, which have happened in this region, we can
broadly classify these events into two categories. The first category of events, are the
ones where a physical object such as a ship or a plane has disappeared. The second
category of events, are the ones where persons have noticed certain weird phenomenon in
this region. This is only a broad classification done to arrive at a scientifically acceptable
model of explanation. There is every chance that certain events may not suit into any of
these categories. But, generally going by the facts, most of the events, which are reported
from this region easily, suit into any one of these categories.

Now, consider the first category of the events. Almost all the 143 cases of
mysterious disappearances reported in the book as mentioned earlier, can be classified
into the first category. These are the cases where a physical object such as a ship or a
plane has vanished without a trace. The size of the object in consideration varies from as
small as a scuba diver to as large as ocean going freighters and tankers, which are
weighing thousands of tons. For the sake of analysis, an assumption is made at this

juncture, that, by some reason or the other, which is not clear, a localized reaction occurs
in this region. Also, assume that, the localized reaction is capable of disintegrating mass
into space. Then, this kind of a reaction can be treated as implosion of mass in space. The
word space, which is mentioned here, does not mean the conventional notion for space as
cosmos, which is around the earth. The meaning of the word space in this context is the
inter-atomic space and the intra-atomic space within the physical object in consideration.
Implosion of mass means, inward suction of mass within the object into the inter-atomic
and intra-atomic space. Anyway, it is to be noted here that such a phenomenon is totally
non-scientific and non-practical. Even then, an assumption like this is required to start
with. Whether, such an event can practically happen or not has to be concluded only after
an absolute and rational verification of facts and a perfect scientific simulation. Till then
this is only an assumption to start with. Always, an assumption is required to start an
analysis.

Now, the normal doubts which can arise in the mind of any reader are probably,
what is a localized reaction? How does it happen? Why and where does it happen? What
are the effects on the surroundings if such a reaction happens? And can we ever simulate
such a reaction?

It is extremely difficult to answer all these kind of questions by anyone. A
gradual and peaceful thinking is required to arrive at the answers. Probably, some of
these questions can never be answered by anyone. With the present level of
understanding of the principles of physics, the very fact that mass can disappear in space
is absurd or strictly not possible. The concept of mass as physically indestructible, which
is true in all the cases of the present world, might not hold good in all the cases. It is
rather foolish to jump into any conclusion like this, without any valid logic or without
certain amount of explanations and practical examples.

To understand the concept of a localized reaction, a certain amount of refreshing is
required regarding the concept of Black Holes in space. Black holes are the regions in
space, which are known for suction of enormous amount of matter around them. These
spots in cosmos are not visible to normal eyes, as the capability of suction and the
gravitational forces within the black hole is so strong that, not even a ray of light can
escape from them. As a result, the concept of Black Hole is originated, due to their
relative effect on the nearby stars.

By the way of concept, it is assumed that the black holes have a voracious appetite
and are capable of sucking everything around. Any amount of matter can be sucked
within the black hole where it is crushed out of existence. Even a ray of light, which
travels at the speed of 300000 kilometers per second, does not have the capability of
escaping from the black hole. The extraordinary gravitational pull, which exists within
the black hole, is responsible for the suction of matter into itself. The most difficult
definition, which can be arrived at this juncture is, what happens to the matter, which gets
sucked into the black hole? When matter can never be destroyed, where does it go? When
the black hole has the capability of sucking planets, stars and entire solar systems into
itself, what happens to the fate of matter, is a fact, which is difficult to digest.

Conceptually, it is wrong to think that matter is destructible. Matter can only be changed
into other forms of matter or energy. It can never be destroyed. In that case, the
conceptual definition of what happens to the matter, which gets sucked into the black
hole, is arrived by the concept that the matter, which gets sucked into the black hole, is
frozen deep within the space-time curvature. All the matter in the black hole is
compressed to a point in its center, where, gravitational forces or the space-time
curvature is infinite. This state of infinite space-time curvature is called singularity. The
density of matter at singularity reaches a state of infinity.

How does a black hole form in the universe? There are several probable causes
such as the collapsing stars or white dwarfs. It is also proved that when, the size of matter
in its normal condition is reduced by compressing beyond certain limits, the gravitational
force increases enormously. As per the calculations of German physicist Karl
Schwarzschild, to turn our sun into a black hole, one has to compress it from the existing
radius of 700000 kilometers to a limiting radius of 3 kilometers. This is known as the
Schwarzschild radius for the sun. This is the limiting radius within which the
gravitational pull within the sun increases so enormously that, not even a ray of light can
escape from it. The fact to be noted here is that, with the increase in compression, the
density of the mass increases and also the gravitational pull with which, it sucks the
nearby mass, increases. Once, the compression is achieved to the limiting radius known
as Schwarzschild radius, the inward gravitational pull is so enormous that even a ray of
light finds it difficult to escape from the black hole. At this point it is just not possible to
see the sun, as it no longer emits any visible light outwards.

Similarly, in case if the earth, which is approximately having a radius of 6375
kilometers, is compressed within a limiting radius of around a centimeter, then it behaves
like a black hole. In that case, like in the case of the compressed sun, a ray of light can
never escape the earth. Earth stops reflecting light. These are the limiting values in terms
of sizes for the sun and the earth to behave like black holes. No one can ever see the earth
or the sun once they are converted into black holes. This is only a theoretical imagination
and a not a practical situation. But, the ideas were conceived only with the intention of
visualizing the concept of the black hole.

The most astonishing fact in the concept of the black holes is the enormous
capability with which, they can consume the matter around them and also, finally what
happens to the matter which is sucked by the black hole. It is conceived that matter is
crushed out of existence when it is sucked into the black hole. The matter inside the black
hole is supposed to be enormously dense. Just, imagine the size of the earth, when it is
converted into a black hole, the total matter contained within the earth, can occupy a
limiting volume of the size, lesser than a table tennis ball. One more concept that, as
matter is simply indestructible, the matter within the black hole is frozen deep within a
space-time curvature or singularity is difficult to digest. The fate of matter within the
black hole simply defies any conventional law of physics.

The point to be noted here is, if such a phenomenon of suction of matter can
happen in the outer space, why? Similar events of smaller magnitude should not happen

in the world where we are living? Considering the fact that, earth is a part of the vast
universe where we are living, the possibilities of a universal event repeating on the
surface of the earth cannot be ruled out. It is absolutely illogical to assume that, mini
black holes are forming on the surface of the world, but an event analogous in nature can
occur. This is the background for visualizing a localized reaction in the region known as
the Bermuda Triangle.

Another factor to be noted in the concept of the black holes is the visualization of
space-time curvature. In reality, for the common man it is extremely difficult to conceive
a space-time curvature. In the concept of space-time curvature, the factor time means the
earth time. But, if we carefully de-link the concept of time from our minds, quite
possibly, the concept can arrive at a new definition. Fundamentally, the concept that mass
is indestructible is the basic constraint for the human mind. It is just not possible for the
human mind to visualize the fact that mass is destructible. Also, it has been the
fundamental truth, within which the entire universal phenomenon can be scientifically
explained. But, if the concept of zero time is considered, a new definition for the concept
of mass disappearing in space can be arrived at. Now, this is only a temporary conclusion
to begin with. On a long run, to accept this as the real factor, a lot of research has to be
done in this direction to accept the fact that mass has the real capability of imploding into
itself. In the conceived phenomenon of mass imploding within itself, the mass is assumed
to implode and collide with the inter-atomic and intra-atomic space within the matter. It
is rather an unconventional idea.

Now, consider the structure of an atom or a molecule. The vast space within
the atom or the molecule is always unoccupied. The nucleus, consisting of the protons
and the neutrons and the electrons revolving around the nucleus, rather occupy a very
insignificant volume of the atom or the molecule. The rest of the volume is a clear void.
This is the space, which is assumed to be the root cause for the mystery of disappearance
of matter within itself. Whenever an implosion of matter occurs, the basic particles of the
atom or the molecule, the protons, the neutrons and the electrons, disintegrate within the
surrounding void or space, rendering them unseen to the common eye. This kind of a
phenomenon of implosion of mass within itself is absolutely impossible to simulate,
within the limits of any scientific experiment, with the present tools of science. Also, the
concept itself may not be easily acceptable to any one who is thinking in a conventional
way. But, a clear understanding of the concept of zero time may help in accepting this
assumption. Anyway, it is not the ultimate conclusion of this article. As mentioned
earlier, a clear experimental simulation is a must, before accepting this assumption as the
reality.

Implosion of mass within itself is somewhat a reverse process of explosion of
mass. In case of explosion of mass, mass gets expelled in all directions into small
fragments. There are several types of explosion of mass, like physical, chemical and
nuclear explosions.

The case of a physical explosion of mass can be compared to the bursting of a
high-pressure nitrogen cylinder or the case of a bursting of a pressure cooker. This kind

of an explosion is primarily caused by high pressure of compressed gas or steam. A
fracture or a crack in the pressure vessel can activate this kind of an explosion. In this
case, energy stored in the form of high-pressure gas or steam gets released. Also, when it
happens the physical form of the mass gets scattered. There wont be any distortion in the
atomic or molecular structure of the ingredients. This is the simplest form of all the
explosions.

In the second case of a chemical explosion, like a conventional bomb, mass when it
explodes, a definite chemical reaction takes place. There is always a chemical reaction
involving the ingredient atoms and molecules, which results in releasing of the energy.
This is generally an exothermic reaction. Also, any chemical reaction is always
associated with a change in the state of matter. Matter, which is in the solid or liquid form
before the reaction, can get converted into other solid forms such as oxides and sulphides
or into any other gaseous form. The basic molecular structure generally gets converted
into other forms in the process of such a reaction.

In the third case of nuclear explosion, there can be two types, a fission reaction or a
fusion reaction. In this kind of an explosion, the basic molecular structure is always
distorted in the process of fission or a fusion process. The energy released in the fission
reaction is the binding energy between the protons and the neutrons of the nucleus of the
heavy elements destroyed by the chain reaction. Whereas, in case of the fusion reaction,
the difference in the binding energy of hydrogen and helium atoms is released. These
facts are well known and further elaboration on these reactions is not essential. Even in
the case of a nuclear reaction, the total number of the basic particles of the split atoms
and molecules do remain same before and after the reaction.

The process of implosion of mass within itself is not an exactly reverse event of
that of explosion of matter. It is quite analogous in nature when compared to explosion of
mass in normal atmosphere. In case of explosion of mass, whether it is physical, chemical
or nuclear, even when there is a distortion of the basic molecular structure or splitting of
molecules, the total number of basic constituents in the mass, remain same before and
after the explosion. There is always a basic arithmetic involved in the equation. Simply,
the basic particles, the protons, the neutrons and the electrons cannot be lost. Only thing
is that, they get displaced from their original positions after the explosion. Whereas, in
the case of implosion of mass within itself, the situation is quite different. The concept is
that, mass when implodes into itself, all the basic particles involved are lost once and for
all. The basic particles of all the atoms and the molecules of the mass, which are involved
in implosion, are absorbed within the inter-atomic and intra-atomic space within the
matter. The very fact that mass has the distinctive capability of disintegrating into space
within itself is a mad statement in the present scientific world. Also, it is quite true that
no one can ever prove this fact by any means of experimental demonstration. But, when
such things are practically happening in this world and also in the outer space around us,
how can anyone ignore these facts? If a serious consideration is given to these facts, we
may have to change our lines of thinking. The fundamental concepts of physics are
absolutely right and are certainly proved beyond limits to make us believe that, mass is
indestructible. But, is it true that, all the laws of physics are always true in all the

conditions? How can the phenomenon of black hole can be completely explained,
without violating the laws of physics? It is just not possible. The limitations of our minds
are the constraints to complete the exact mathematical model of black holes. The concept
that, matter is frozen deep into a space-time curvature within the black hole is quit
difficult to digest.

Now, just imagine if someone tries to explode a hydrogen bomb in a black hole.
Does it ever explode? When we know that the stars are nothing more than celestial fusion
reactors, and the black holes are capable of swallowing them with relative ease, a
hydrogen bomb is nothing better than a peanut for the black hole. Consider the case of a
star getting sucked into a black hole. In that case, where do all the protons, the neutrons
and the electrons in the star disappear? The question is difficult to answer. Hence, it is
assumed that the vast space which is vacant within the volume of the atom, is creating the
difference and probably, holds the secrete of the universe. This space, probably, has got
the mystic capability of rendering the basic particles unseen, hitherto for the reasons
unknown to anyone. As the understanding of mass, space and time are inherently
depending on the structure of the human mind, which is fused with the limitation of earth
time, probably, our thinking stalls at this juncture. We simply cannot grab or understand
the concept that, inter-atomic and intra-atomic space can gobble up the basic particles
within the atom. But, as of now this is only an illusionary concept.

Now, consider the incidences of disappearances reported from the Bermuda
Triangle region. Whatever may be the type of ship or a plane, which has vanished in this
region, the basic ingredients of all the objects involved, in terms of elements are within
the known range of the elements. This applies to the unfortunate human beings who have
disappeared in this process. Technically if we think, all of us and all the objects around us
are made of basically, the protons, the neutrons and the electrons. In this kind of a
situation of the conceived localized reaction of implosion of mass, whenever it occurs,
the inter-atomic and intra-atomic space can gobble up all the basic particles. How and
why this kind of a reaction occurs is rather unknown.

As mentioned in this article, the basic idea behind visualizing the concept of a
localized reaction occurring in the Bermuda Triangle region is originated from similarity
in behavioral pattern when compared to that of black holes. They are not absolutely
similar in nature of operation. The black hole seems to be a long time affair with millions
of years of life. Whereas, the conceived localized reaction is a short time affair. But the
intrinsic capabilities of a localized reaction are analogous to that of the black hole. In
case of black holes, the enormous suction of mass is unlimited and is confined to cosmic
objects such as stars, planets and entire solar systems. Also, they are millions of light
years away from us. The operation seems to be a continuous affair. In case of the
conceived localized reaction, the capability is limited and the range of operation is
confined to certain regions in this world. The phenomenon is confined to the atmosphere
or the oceans in those regions. The objects involved in suction are either man-made
objects or atmospheric air and ocean water. Also, the localized reaction is time bound. It
is not a continuous affair. It happens for a short period of time, stretching from a few
seconds to a few hours in a particular region. After the time period of this reaction is

over, the region seems to be perfectly normal without any abnormal events occurring
around the region.

Now, consider what happens when the conceived localized reaction occurs in
different locations. The different locations can be broadly classified as, localized reaction
in the atmosphere or under water or a volume partially under water and partially in
atmosphere. Just try to imagine a large soap bubble, which is spherical in shape. The
volume of space covered by this bubble can be visualized as the operating limit of the
localized reaction. The radius of the bubble can be a few hundred meters to a few
kilometers. If this bubble is entirely in the atmosphere above the ocean, all the mass
within the bubble is supposed to get sucked into it when the localized reaction takes
place. In this process all the atmospheric air, all the clouds, all the birds flying around
within the sphere, are bound to be affected. In the time period during which a localized
reaction is occurring in the atmosphere, any flying object within the radius of the sphere
is bound to be affected by the process, rendering itself unseen to common eyes. Or
simply, the plane vanishes without a trace. The entire mass of the plane along with the
occupants gets imploded within its inter-atomic and intra-atomic space. If the radius of
the reaction sphere is one kilometer, then, all the flying objects within a radius of one
kilometer are bound to vanish. Another factor to be noted here is the time duration of the
reaction. If, the time duration of the reaction is one hour, then any object straying within
the range of the reaction during this time period is bound to vanish. After this time
duration is over, the area seems to be perfectly safe without any clue of what has really
happened in that area. In the case of Flight 19, which occurred on December 5, 1945, 5
TBM Avenger torpedo bombers were lost without any trace. Subsequently, the rescue
mission for Flight 19, a Martin Mariner flying boat also vanished without a trace, in the
same area where all the five bombers of Flight 19 vanished. One possibility is that, both
Flight 19 and the rescue mission for Flight 19 entered the range of the localized reaction
occurring in that area during the active time duration of the reaction. Subsequently, when
the reaction time period elapsed, the area became perfectly safe, without any further
incidences of sudden disappearances.

Further, a localized reaction in the atmosphere is bound to create sudden
turbulences in the surrounding region. These turbulences are created by sudden vacuum
caused by the localized reaction. When all the atmospheric air gets sucked in the process
of the localized reaction the atmospheric air in the surrounding region rushes to occupy
this vacuum. This kind of sudden turbulences can occur in a relatively calm weather,
without any forewarning. Further, as the gravitational force of the localized reaction is
enormous as compared to that of earths gravitational force, it is definitely bound to have
a relative effect on the surrounding region beyond the sphere. In this process, if any plane
happens to move in vicinity of the localized reaction, but beyond the operational radius,
the gravitational forces of the reaction can affect the function of all the magnetic and
electric systems within the plane. But, by sheer luck the plane escapes the misfortune of
being lost without a trace. This kind of an instrumental malfunction ceases, ones the
plane flies further away from the reaction zone. Also, there is a chance that, due to the
extraordinary gravitational forces around the reaction sphere, enormous stresses are
bound to affect the structure and body parts of the plane. One more possibility is that, due

to sudden atmospheric turbulences outside the reaction zone, the flight can get physically
displaced to some other location around the zone.

Now, consider the second possibility of what happens when the localized reaction
occurs under water. In that case, the entire mass of water within the sphere of reaction
zone along with all the marine creatures is bound to vanish. Also, any ship, which
happens to be in this reaction sphere, is bound to vanish in the process. This kind of a
reaction occurring in the ocean can create a sudden vacuum within the ocean, thereby
causing instantaneous inflow of water into the region from all the surrounding areas.
Probably, this is the cause of sudden vortexes in this region. Also, the sudden
disappearances of marine life, as observed by many persons can be attributed to these
kind of reactions occurring regularly in and around this region. Also, as this kind of a
vortex is instantaneous and extremely powerful, this can drown a massive ship or an
ocean going tanker to the bottom of the ocean in matter of a few minutes.

The third situation is when the localized reaction occurs partially under water
and partially in the atmosphere. In this kind of a situation the effect can be partially in the
atmosphere and partially under water. If the center of the reaction sphere is located above
the water level, then as the inward suction of mass is directed towards the center of the
sphere, water from the ocean is bound to raise unusually high above the sea level. This
kind of water raising phenomenon can occur only during the active time duration of the
reaction. This phenomenon stops when the reaction time duration is over. Similarly
during the same period turbulences are quite likely bound to happen in the surrounding
atmosphere.

As mentioned earlier, the mysterious cases reported from the Bermuda Triangle
region are broadly classified into two categories. In the first category of cases where a
physical object has disappeared, all the unfortunate planes and ships should have been
within the active radius of the localized reaction. They are the direct victims of this kind
of a reaction. The second category of cases, where abnormal phenomenon have been
observed in the atmosphere and in the ocean, the persons were probably traveling outside
the reaction zone. Even the cases of instrument malfunction and directional
disorientation, which have been reported, can be the cases where the concerned flights
and ships were very much near the reaction zone. Also, there is every possibility that,
cases, which cannot be classified into any of these categories, are still on record.

One has to remember that this model of analysis is fundamentally arrived on
the basis of reported mysterious events in this region and not on the basis of practical
study in this region. Also, the basic questions which can arise in the mind of the reader
are, why and where does the localized reaction occur? Can it ever be predicted? Why
does it occur only in the Bermuda Triangle region?

It is very difficult to answer all these questions without any practical study. The
last question has a partial answer. Similar events, such as the ones happening in the
Bermuda Triangle region are reportedly observed from the Devils Sea in the east. The
Devils Sea or Ghost Sea near southeastern coast of Japan is infamous for similar events.

Several events of strange disappearances and unusual sightings have been reported from
this region since many years. These events have been narrated in detail in the book
Without a Trace written by Charles Berlitz. By the nature of occurrence, these events
are quite similar to the ones occurring in the Bermuda Triangle region. The area roughly
bounded by the Marcus Islands on the west, Bonin Islands on the east and Marianans in
the south is the disputed and controversial area where several events of strange
disappearances and abnormal behavior of the sea are observed relatively in a calm
weather. This region has a record of several fishing boats, large cargo ships and naval
vessels including a submarine, disappearing without a trace. Pilots flying in this region
have reported the phenomenon of malfunction of instruments and electromagnetic
disturbances. Also, there are reports of unusual sightings such as, observations of holes
and hills on the surface of the relatively calm ocean. Probably, a similar analytical
model of explanation holds good for this region.

It is extremely difficult to correlate the happenings in these two regions, with
reference to their relative positions in the world. There are several speculative theories
relating these regions as the additional magnetic poles of the earth. It is difficult to
understand their relation with reference to the earths gravitational field. But, the fact is
very clear. There are several incidences of strange occurrences happening in this world,
which are not getting effectively reigned by the tools of science.


b. The Case of Smoking Volcanoes:

After reading in detail regarding the prehistoric mass extinction of species, which
is supposed to have happened in this planet, millions of years back and the relatively
contemporary disappearances happening at the Bermuda Triangle region, the basic
question, which may arise in the mind of the reader is, what is the connection between the
two? One event has happened millions of years back and the other event is a
contemporary occurrence and is extremely speculative in nature. A clear relation cannot
be arrived, unless a few practical examples are elaborated at this juncture to indicate the
trend of nature. The example of a smoking volcano is considered to elaborate on this
point. Volcanoes are the exit points for eruption of molten rock, volcanic ash and gases
from the mantle of the earth. A volcano never erupts suddenly. Generally a massive
volcanic eruption occurs after a series of forewarnings. There is clear trend by which,
nature indicates sufficiently in advance regarding the events to unfold. To understand this
trend, we have to carefully study the pattern of some recent volcanic eruptions.

Consider the case of volcanic eruption of Mount Bezymyannaya. Mount
Bezymyannaya is a 3085-meter high peak located in the Klyuchevskaya mountain range
of Siberia. Till 1955 this was considered as a long extinct peak of a volcano. The
erstwhile U.S.S.R. had maintained a volcanological observatory in Klyuchevskaya
mountain range. During September 1955 the equipments at this observatory recorded a
series of earth tremors. When the Russian scientists at this observatory carefully plotted
these tremors, it was found that the lines of these tremors intersected at Mount
Bezymyannaya. The indications were quite clear. Something dangerous was in offing

from Mount Bezymyannaya. So, in lines with the forewarning issued by the Russian
volcanologists, the preliminary eruptions of Mount Bezymyannaya started on October 22
1955. Huge clouds of volcanic ash were erupted from Mount Bezymyannaya. The
intensity of eruptions increased on coming days. Fortunately, this volcanic peak is located
in the vast remote region of Siberia with a few people living nearby. During the month of
November, heavy ash was reported from places as far as 45 kilometers from the volcanic
mount. This kind of preliminary eruptions continued till this volcano erupted with its full
might on March 30 1956. This day, when this volcano erupted, it expelled almost 2.4
billion tons of rock. A huge black cloud covered the horizon reaching heights of almost
35 kilometers. The downpour of volcanic ash was recorded from places as far as 400
kilometers far off. The point to be noted here is that, a volcano, which was considered as
long extinct by the scientists, refused to die even after thousands of years of dormancy.

Next, consider the case of the explosion of Krakotoa, which happened on
August 27 1883. Krakatoa was a small island located between Java and Sumatra. For a
long time, this was considered as the stump of a long extinct volcano, since for nearly
200 years there was no volcanic activity on this island. After a long and peaceful period
of nearly 200 years, on May 20, 1883 loud explosions were observed from the nearby
islands. The intensity of explosions started increasing in the coming days. As the peak of
this volcano is at almost at the sea level enormous amount of seawater started pouring
into the cone of this volcano. This resulted in formation of enormous amount of steam
within the volcano, thereby resulting in abnormal pressure buildup within the cone.
Finally, on August 27 1883 this volcano exploded and erupted causing a massive
shockwave in the atmosphere as well in the ocean. The intensity of this explosion was so
enormous that, the sound of the explosion was heard at even far off places, as far as 4800
kilometers away. This has been recorded as one of the most violent volcanic explosions
in the recent recorded history of the world. The intensity of this explosion can be
compared to the explosion of hundreds of nuclear warheads at a time. After the
explosion, the volcanic ash and gases covered and blackened the sky in a radius of 225
kilometers. Also, there are reports of volcanic ash of this explosion, falling on the decks
of ships, which were almost 2600 kilometers away from Krakatoa. The shock wave
caused by this explosion stirred off massive tidal waves in the ocean, which in turn
caused severe destruction on several islands nearby. The most unfortunate aspect of this
event was the massive death toll of around 30000 people, living around in nearby islands.
Just try to imagine the potential of nature. Probably, at that time no one would have ever
imagined that, this small and dead volcanic stump can ever cause this kind of destruction.
But, even in the case of Krakatoa, the final eruption did not take place all of a sudden.
There were forewarnings in the form of mild explosions, before the final showdown of
the volcano.

Similar is the case of Mount St. Helens. This volcanic peak had no recent records
of eruptions till 1980. The eruption of this volcano during May 1980 is a well-recorded
case in the recent history of volcanoes. According to the estimates of Geological Survey
of U.S., there have been two major eruptions of this volcanic peak in the recent past.
Previous to the eruption of May 1980, probably, this volcano has erupted aroud1500 A.D.

and 1900 B.C. So, probably, after a gap of almost 480 years this volcanic mount has
sprung back into activity.

The common factor to be noted in the cases of all these volcanic eruptions is the
trend of nature. The actual behavior of nature with regards to its capability and
destructive potential, is always hidden and unseen. But, always, there is an indication in
some form or the other about the impending things. A limited eruption of volcanic
material from any volcano can lead to an enormous eruption or explosion at any time.
The fury of nature is unimaginable. Also, there is a mysterious capability of being
dormant for thousands of years. So, the fact cannot be ruled out that, any volcano,
considered to be dormant for thousands of years can again erupt with full fury, at any
time. Only thing is that, time gap between two major eruptions cannot be computed so
easily. So, the operational logic for any volcanologist is quite clear. That is, whenever
new tremors are observed around a volcanic peak or minor eruptions start occurring at
repeated intervals of time with increasing intensity, then, there is always a fear of a
massive eruption of that volcano at any moment of time.

Now, the basic question that can arise in the mind of any reader is, in what way,
the Bermuda Triangle and the volcanoes are interrelated? It is quite true that, both the
types of events have nothing in common. By the nature of activity these events are totally
different. One is a natural phenomenon occurring around the world whereas the other is a
rather weird and mystic event refusing to yield to any tool of science. But the review on
volcanoes was done, only to study the trend of nature and to elaborate on the point that,
any event of small magnitude, however small it may be, should not be neglected. If we
extend the operational logic of a volcanologist to the events happening in the Bermuda
Triangle region, then the question arises, as why a similar event should not happen all
around with a massive intensity? Considering the mysterious nature of the world where
we are living, with the secrets of nature far deeper than what we think about them, it may
be wrong on our part to under estimate the events happening in the Bermuda Triangle
region. So, there is every likelihood that, this kind of a mysterious event can repeat itself
around in this region with an enormous intensity. An event where modern objects like a
ship or a plane vanishing without a trace should not be considered lightly. In the case of
any volcano, generally the volcanic activity is confined to a particular belt known as
Ring of Fire. Most of the worlds active volcanoes are located along the edges of
continental plates, which are wedged against each other. There is a definite pattern of
existence and a logical reason for this activity. Whereas, the events happening in the
Bermuda Triangle region are slippery in nature and shy like ghosts who prefer to appear
only in the night. But, there is always a possibility of these kinds of events happening
with a massive intensity. Even though the general tendency among the public is to ignore
them as non-events or weird occurrences, the actual gravity of the situation is enormous
than what we think about them.

c. Transitional Reaction and Reverse Polar Magnetic Sweep within the earth:

Now, just for the sake of fantasy, imagine the following situation, which is not
practical. Even though it is a well-known fact that almost all the dinosaurs vanished 65

million years back, consider that, as a matter of sheer luck some of them survived the
catastrophe and are still living in the jungles of Africa. Now, consider that, someone is
transporting a few of them in a chartered ship for selling them to zoological parks across
the U.S. In this process, the ship has to travel in the region of Bermuda Triangle.
Unexpectedly, the ship along with the full load of dinosaurs vanishes without any trace.
Now, this event is acceptable to all of us, considering the fact that such events are
happening repeatedly in this region. So, a shipload of dinosaurs can vanish without a
trace along with the ship in this region. Then, why, an assumption should not be made
that, all the dinosaurs vanished worldwide without a trace like this? It is absolutely
incorrect to jump to a conclusion that, 65 million years back all the living dinosaurs
vanished by a mysterious process of sudden disappearance, based on the fact that stray
events of similar nature are happening in and around this region. But, if we consider the
events happening in and around the Bermuda Triangle with a serious note, one cannot
rule out the potential of this kind of an event. Also, these events seem to be forewarnings
issued by nature with regards to its intrinsic capabilities, as to what it can do in course of
time. Also, even if we assume that such an event has the possibility of repeating all
around the world, then the basic question arises, as how such an event can get triggered in
this planet. One speculative assumption in this regard is, the relation, which these events
have got with the magnetic field and the poles of the earth. Considering the extraordinary
magnetic disturbances reported by many pilots and crews of ships traveling in the
Bermuda region, there is every possibility that such events have something in relation to
the magnetic field of the earth. That is, some strange relation to the magnetic field of the
earth causes the triggering action of a localized reaction in this region. But, till such time
a confirmed scientific reason is established for this fact, this remains only as a
speculation. The other reason by which the event can get triggered all over the world is
the relative shift of the earths poles at very long intervals of time. One possibility is that,
the earth has got the mysterious capability of instantaneous changeover of poles at very
long intervals of time.

As per the geographic structure, the earth has a mean equatorial radius of around
6375kilometers or the equatorial diameter is around 12750kilometers. We live on the
outermost layer of the earth, which is known as the crust. This crust is mainly constituted
of soil and sedimentary rocks and extends to a depth of around 30 kilometer below the
earths outer surface. Below the crust lies the next layer known as the mantle. This
mantle of the earth extends to a further depth of around 3000kilometers. The main
constituents of this mantle are the silicate rocks. Below the mantle lies the core of the
earth. This core of the earth is a sphere of molten iron and nickel. This molten mass of
iron and nickel is of approximately 6000 kilometer in diameter and is extremely dense
and hot compared to the normal state of iron and nickel available over the surface of the
earth. The density is expected to be around 10 times that of water and the temperature is
expected to be around 6400 degree Celsius. This molten iron core of the earth is primarily
responsible and is the base for the magnetic field of the earth. The magnetic poles of the
earth on its outer surface are primarily defined by the orientation of the lines of magnetic
flux within this molten iron core of the earth. Any relative shift or stirring action
occurring in the molten core of the earth can induce tremendous changes in the flow
pattern of the magnetic field of the earth. To a large extent over very long periods of

time, the magnetic field of the earth seems to be relatively constant in nature without any
considerable change in the pattern of its behavior. Further the positions of the magnetic
poles seem to be fixed in nature. But, a gradual stirring of the molten iron mass within the
core of the earth occurring over a period of millions of years can induce enormous
amount of stresses in the flow pattern of the magnetic flux. Then the question arises, how
such a gradual stirring action can take place within the molten iron core of the earth. One
possibility is that as the earth rotates continuously around its axis, the solid mass of
mantle and the crust rotate without any significant relative change in positions or without
much internal disturbances. Whereas, in the core of the earth which is in a molten state,
mass tends to shift relatively within itself during the process of rotation of the earth
around its axis. This relative shift of mass within the molten iron core of the earth can
result in shift in the flow pattern of the magnetic flux. This shift in the flow pattern of the
magnetic flux is relatively negligible on a day today basis or on a yearly basis. But, this
relative shift in the flow pattern can accumulate into a significantly stressed state over a
period of millions of years. When this kind of a shift in the flow pattern accumulates to a
certain critical value the process of stress reliving gets activated in the planet. In this
process, the direction of the magnetic flux changes instantly. This kind of a massive
reaction occurring within the earths core can result in instantaneous change over of
magnetic poles on the surface of the earth. Instantaneous change over of the poles means,
either the shifting of the position of poles or change in the polarity of the poles for a
fraction of time period to relive the magnetic stresses caused by the molten iron core. In
this process, the magnetic north and the south poles reverse their polarity for a fraction of
second, causing a momentary reversal in the magnetic field on the surface of the world.
Once, this kind of a process of stress reliving is completed, the magnetic flow lines attain
an equilibrium. This equilibrium may last for a few million years till such time another
state of critical value of stress build up occurs in the molten core. In one way the process
seems to be cyclical in nature. This kind of an instantaneous reaction occurring in the
planet over very large periods of time can be termed as a transitional reaction. The
consequence of a transitional reaction happening in the planet seems to be having severe
effect all over the surface of the planet. In the normal state of its equilibrium, the
magnetic flow lines extend from the magnetic north pole to the magnetic south pole
uniformly encompassing the earth all around on its upper crust. When the critical process
of a massive transitional reaction occurs within the planet, the magnetic flux reverses its
direction instantly sweeping the surface of the world allover. This results in a massive
reverse polar magnetic sweep in the flow pattern of the magnetic flux. This can result in
extreme amount of magnetic anomalies followed by a mysterious disappearance of
structures and living organisms all over the surface of the earth. This is precisely the most
probable reason for disappearance of dinosaurs all over the world 65 million years back.
This is like the phenomenon of Bermuda Triangle region occurring all over the world.
The localized reaction occurring in the Bermuda Triangle region seems to be happening
due to localized magnetic stresses within the core of the earth corresponding to that
region. The effect of such an action is the mysterious disappearance of ships and aircrafts
in the region for the past several years. This has been an indigestible mystery within the
domains of science. The limited capability of the human mind is equally responsible for
specifically understanding this kind of a phenomenon. The most mysterious issue of this
phenomenon is the sudden disappearance of mass within the space occupied by it. So,

whenever a transitional reaction occurs in this planet, the localized reaction of the
Bermuda Triangle region extends into a global scale mystifying all the concerned people.
If this kind of a happening occurs in reality, a major chunk of mass on the surface of the
planet can vanish without a trace along with an equal proportion of living organisms and
human beings. So, whenever a transitional reaction occurs in this planet the living
organisms of that period are under a great threat of massive or a partial extinction. Again,
this is a speculative assumption and one should not get carried away that, this is the final
conclusion. To arrive at a real time tested theory, we have to consider all the options. But,
at the present level of know-how in this world the very thought of such a reaction
happening all over the world is only a joke but not a reality. But, when we consider the
mysterious nature of the world and the enormous time gaps between strange transitions,
which have occurred in this world, even an event of least probability for a smaller time
slot such as that of our life times can become an event of regular occurrence for the time
slot of lifetime of this planet. This situation is somewhat similar to the case of the moon.
Even if all the six and half billion people of the world have seen the moon regularly, none
of us have ever seen the other side of the moon.

One more fact is that, as the events of mass extinctions have happened millions of
years back; it is very difficult for anyone to confirm with confidence, the exact cause of
such an event. We can only arrive at analytical models based on facts and probabilities
regarding such events. Hence, there is a possibility that the dinosaurs vanished instantly,
like objects of this modern world are vanishing in the Bermuda Triangle. This is only one
of the possible causes and always the line of thinking is open to a new school of thought.




d. The Mystic Clouds of the Bermuda Triangle Region:

Apart from the concept of localized reaction, another mysterious phenomenon, which
is reported in several books, needs a specific mention. These are the mystic clouds and
fogs observed in the Bermuda Triangle region. By nature of appearance, these clouds and
fogs seem to be perfectly normal, but, by nature of activity, they are somewhat
mystifying and dangerous. To understand the pattern of behavior of these clouds and
fogs, one has to review some of the cases of strange experiences faced by the persons
involved. For a detailed reading of such phenomenon one can refer the books written by
Charles Berlitz and other authors. However for the sake of a quick review following
examples are chosen from the book Without a Trace written by Charles Berlitz.

During June 1960, a strange incidence occurred in Bermuda, involving 5 Super
Sabre Fighters of U.S.A.F. On a bright cloudless day, about 1300 hours 5 Super Sabres of
U.S.A.F. took off from Military Air Base at Kindley Field, Bermuda. During that time a
solitary cloud was present approximately half a mile away from the shore. As reported in
the eyewitness account of this incidence, all the 5 Super Sabres entered the cloud from
one side and only 4 emerged from the other. Further, the strangest part of this incidence
was that, there was no falling aircraft or any debris from the cloud to account for the fifth

aircraft. Also, the radars on the ground tracking the flight, failed to locate any fall.
Charles Berlitz has narrated this event in detail in page number 108 of the book Without
A Trace. Even though this is an event involving the U.S. Air Force, the eyewitness
account of a civilian Victor Haywood is quite notable. It has been reported that, despite
of an intensive search operation carried out by the Air Force, no trace of the Super Sabre
or its pilot was found, even though the water around the area was quit shallow. This event
remains as a mystery on record without any clue of what really did happen to the fifth
aircraft and its pilot.

One more event involving such mysterious clouds is the experience of Jim Blocker
a corporate flight pilot from Atlanta. According to his experience, during February 1968,
while he was flying from Nassau to Palm Beach, he was advised by the control tower to
change his flight plan from an altitude of 8000feet to an altitude of 6000 feet. The reason
for this change was that, two planes flying at an altitude of 8000 feet had disappeared
without any trace in that region on that day. It is reported that, an altitude of 6000 feet, at
about 40 miles from Nassau, he experienced a serious malfunction in instruments after
entering some clouds. Subsequently, a drastic disorientation of his relative position was
noticed when somehow he managed to come out of the clouds. This event is narrated in
detail in page no.108 of the book Without A Trace. According to Jim Blocker, when he
emerged out of the clouds, he was located 150 miles northeast of Nassau heading
northwest. He owes his life to the change in his flight plans from the original altitude of
8000 feet to a lower altitude of 6000 feet. The fact to be noted here is the massive
dislocation in position by almost 110 miles, which his flight experienced.

Quite similar to the incidences involving clouds, there are several reports
involving mysterious fogs on the surface of the ocean. These are events involving
disappearance of ships and fishing vessels. The disappearance of fishing vessel Wild
Goose which occurred in 1944 is quite notable. Charles Berlitz narrates this event in
detail in page no.117 of the book Without A Trace. A mysterious fog engulfed Wild
Goose a vessel being towed by some other vessel in the Bermuda Triangle region. This
was clearly noticed by the crew of towing vessel. Subsequently, it is reported that the
towing vessel, through the tow cable, experienced an enormous pull to the extent of
getting pulled into the fog. But, by cutting off the tow cable the towing vessel survived.
Wild Goose and all but one of the occupants were never traced after this event. Several
such events of mysterious fog, either crippling the equipments in the ship or rendering
them untraceable are on record.

The records of such events happening in other parts of the world are very rare.
But, quite notable is an event which occurred during World War 1. This event is narrated
in detail in chapter 8 of the book Without A Trace. This is an event where an entire
British Regiment vanished into a fog or a ground level cloud. On August 28, 1915, during
Gallipoli campaign in Turkey, a British Regiment consisting of between 800 to 4000 men
walked into an unsuspectible fog or ground level cloud never to be traced back again. The
notable factor in this event is that, several persons of Australian and New Zealand Army
Corps who were in the vicinity observed this event. The eyewitness account of these
persons cannot be neglected as a fabrication or an illusion. The reality is, such events

dont happen in everyday life and there is no known scientific explanation for such an
event. This is an event of massive loss of human life in the recent history of the world.
The mystery remains as to what would have happened to those unfortunate soldiers.

There are several events happening in the Bermuda Triangle region, involving
the mysterious nature of clouds and fogs. The end result of such a cloud or fog formation
can be generally categorized into three types. The first type is where a serious
malfunction of instruments is noticed due to severe electromagnetic disturbance and the
flight or ship involved somehow manages to escape from the situation. The second types
are where there is a total dislocation in the relative position of the ship or the plane
without any rational reason. The third types of cases are the ones where the ship, the
plane or the persons involved are totally untraceable. Also, the common factor to be
noted in all these cases is that, the cloud or fog in picture is definitely not the normal
cloud or fog. It is quite clear from the statements of eyewitness to such events that, by
behavior and appearance, these clouds and fogs are somewhat different from the natural
ones and there is a tendency of the fogs to disappear instantly without any trace. For the
sake of example, only four events where mysterious clouds and fogs have behaved
abnormally are narrated briefly in this article. These are some examples of stealth
phenomenon where the deceptive behavior of nature is really stunning. Such unusual
clouds and fogs generally seem to be camouflaged with normal clouds, the actual content
of matter being different. One possibility is that for reasons unknown, these are the mist
like formings where, matter tends to dissolve into inter-atomic and intra-atomic space at a
relatively slower speed than that of a localized reaction. Or the content of the cloud, fog
or the mist is matter in a continuous state of plasma, which has the capability of
dissolving additional matter intersecting in its operational zone. But, the questions
remain, why and how such clouds and fogs are forming? How to differentiate them from
the normal ones? A true analysis of this kind of formations is difficult without any
practical study of such a formation. Also, the deceptive act of nature in these kinds of
events should not be neglected.


3. Homo Sapiens heading for a Massive Extinction?


If we review the statistics of population of the world, since the beginning of the Christian
era, the estimates of the worlds population at different times are as follows.

These figures are as published in the supplement to the National Geographic, issue,
December 1988. The estimates of the worlds population at different times are based on
historical facts and it is difficult for anyone to provide an accurate figure in this regard.
The worlds population estimate for the future has been projected in three different
graphs, each based on certain facts and assumptions.

Now, if we carefully observe these figures, one can note that the population at 1A.D.
of around 200 million has taken almost 1500 years to double to 400 million at 1500 A.D.
The next process of doubling of population has taken place in less than 300 years from
400 million at 1500 A.D. to around 800 million, somewhere between 1700 A.D. to 1800
A.D. Similarly, the next process of doubling has taken place in130 years from 1 Billion
at 1800 A.D. to 2 Billion at 1930 A.D. Going by the further trend, the pattern is quite
clear. The time period required for doubling of the worlds population has drastically
reduced from several centuries to mere a few decades. There are several reasons for this.
The improvement in living conditions and the availability of food and modern medicines
have drastically increased the life expectancy of an average citizen and thereby, the
growth of population is in a confirmed and firm trend. If anyone calculates the future
trend of population based on the past statistics, then we can easily reach a stage, where
the population can double in a matter of one or two decades. But, the question that is
ignored at this juncture is, are we somewhere approaching a very highly saturated living
condition in this planet, which is almost identical to the one created by dinosaurs millions
of years back? Millions of years back, before every mass extinction, the world was fully
saturated with particular type of living organisms of that time. 65 million years back, the
world was fully saturated with the dinosaurs. In the present civilization, the world is fully
saturated with the Homo sapiens or the mankind in general. Almost, every corner of the
world is explored and occupied by us. Does this kind of an over saturated living condition
cause excessive strain on the ecology of the world, which in turn can trigger off an event
of mass extinction? During the events of prehistoric mass extinctions, the life on the land
as well as in the oceans has undergone a process of sudden discontinuity. Hundreds of
types of living organisms on the land and in the oceans simply disappeared during the
process of mass extinctions. And in this ultra modern world, there are reports of sudden
disappearance of marine life and birds in and around the Bermuda Triangle region. This
is apart from the most mysterious events of disappearance of man made objects. Suppose,
if the nature has got the intrinsic capability of making drastic turnarounds, is it in one
way or the other forewarning us on the events to unfold in front of us? This is the basic
question, which arises when we study the demographic pattern of this world with a
careful note. If it is true that, the dinosaurs underwent an instant process of mass
extinction 65 million years back, by a sudden and a dramatic transitional reaction within
the planet, then how can we assume that we are an exception? There is every possibility
that the events happening in the Bermuda Triangle region are indicative of a huge
magnetic stress building up within the core of the earth heading towards another massive
transitional reaction in this planet. This can result in a massive reverse polar magnetic
sweep all over the world. In such a situation the entire civilization will become a victim
of the mystic action of this planet. This may look like an insane line of thinking for any
rational reader. But, considering the extremely deceptive nature of the universe around us
and also considering the fact that, the act of nature is common to all the living organisms,

we cannot escape from the eventualities of the mystic action of nature upon us, in this
civilization. Even if we think that, the world is ultramodern and the advancements of
science and technology are extraordinary, at moments of time, nature rules supreme over
us. We cannot so easily contain its acts. In the case of the volcanoes, a volcano, which is
presumed as long extinct, can come back into life with full vigor after thousands of years
of dormancy. We just cannot imagine the event in advance. But, as a matter of luck, the
nature indicates in advance in one way or the other the nature of things to unfold.
Similarly, we have a lot in analogy, when the events of pre historic mass extinctions are
compared to the events happening around the Bermuda Triangle region. The mystic
phenomenon of the Bermuda Triangle region is only a tip of the iceberg. The actual size
of the iceberg is enormous and always unseen. One probability is that, nature is
disclosing such events as a prelude of things to unfold in course of time. This region is
only a smoking volcano. The actual eruption can be enormous. Also, when these facts are
visualized, with the present trend of our civilization we may have a disturbing future.
But, this may be an exaggerated limit of thinking. Reality has to be accepted only after a
careful study of facts. But, still going by a chance of probability, an event of mass
extinction in the present civilization cannot be ruled out. What can happen if an event of
mass extinction occurs around us? One possibility is that, if an unfortunate event like this
is triggered off by nature in our civilization, probably, around fifty percent to two-thirds
of the living organisms in this world can vanish without any trace. Or, probably, those
who do not disappear can definitely answer this question with certainty. Anyhow, this
kind of thinking should not excessively perturb the reader. This is only an analytical
attempt to relate the happenings in the present world with the happenings of the past
world. The objective of this article is not to scare anyone, but to make one realize the fact
that, the world has got a lot in store than what we imagine about it. One should remember
the fact that, this world was existing even before the first man existed in this world. And
definitely, the nature is more deceptive than all of us. We should not ignore the acts of
nature however trivial they are.

Further, the event contemplated in this article is only one of the long-range
possibilities for the present civilization. Certainly, this is not an immediate threat or an
ultimate conclusion. Whatever may be the future, the entire civilization has to face it
collectively.

IV Beyond a Global Nuclear Conflict - A Profile



1. The Present Scenario and the Armaments:

The most disgusting and the wicked part of the present civilization are the nuclear
weapons. Despite of the well-known horrors inflicted by the nuclear bombs on the
population of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, there has been an unabated attempt to produce
and stockpile a variety of these weapons with much higher destructive power than the
ones, which slaughtered the population of the two Japanese cities at the end of the World
War II. The most destructive weapons of the present world are the outcome of cold war
era. The weapons in possession of the underdeveloped nations are of lesser capabilities,
but are still much capable than the destructive bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Generally, the political tension between the nations, the excessive concern about
the self-defense of a nation and the unspoken pride of possessing a nuclear weapon are
the primary causes for the proliferation of this evil arm of our technical civilization. The
most difficult scenario that any one can ever visualize is the consequence of an all out
nuclear conflict between the warring nations in a global proportion. During the period of
the cold war, the predominantly accepted model of a nuclear war and its immediate
aftermath was the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD). But, with the
subsequent breakdown of the erstwhile USSR and its allies during the last decade of the
twentieth century, the threat of a mutually assured destruction has drastically diluted and
the situation is somewhat cool between the major nuclear-armed nations of the world.
But, the weapons of the cold war era are still in the possession of the fragmented nations
with a total decentralized control over them. In this kind of a situation even an accidental
use of a nuclear weapon by any fragmented nation can escalate into a serious global
conflict of unimaginable proportions. The other major flash point for use of nuclear
weapons can be created by nations where religious fervor dominates over any sense of
wisdom and common sense. Technically, the entire stockpile of the nuclear weapons of
the present civilization is threatening to annihilate the civilization itself. This is like the
case of a snake being threatened by its own venom.

Presently, the threat of an all out nuclear conflict at a global level doesnt exist very
much between the nations. But, with the present stockpile of nuclear weapons falling in
the hands of belligerent leaderships of the future, one cannot rule out the possibility of a
large-scale nuclear conflict between the nations in a global proportion. In such kind of a
situation the lives of common citizen are at a great risk of crossfire between hostile
nations. An all out nuclear conflict is not an event, which happens over a period of
several years like the world wars of the twentieth century. An all out global nuclear
conflict is a matter of a few hours. Before one realizes that a conflict has started, the
conflict will be over with an enormous loss of life in all the warring nations. Generally, it

is going to be a spontaneous exchange of weapons spread over a period of few hours in
all fronts of the war. Even though the duration of such a conflict is so small, the damage
done to the civilization will be enormous and unimaginable. Such a global nuclear
conflict results in instant annihilation of billions of innocent civilians worldwide and
extraordinary sufferings for those who are injured in the conflict. For the present world,
the events of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are a part of the forgotten history. The miserable
sufferings of those who survived the lethal bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki were
unimaginable. Probably, this event has left a permanent scar on the minds of the Japanese
people. In case of the unfortunate situation of an all out nuclear war this kind of a
miserable scenario extends all over the world.

But, the basic question that is addressed in this article is what is the
immediate consequence of an all out global nuclear conflict. The possible consequences
of an all out global nuclear conflict and the possibility of a massive transitional reaction
within the planet are contemplated in this article.

To begin with, a review of the present stockpile of nuclear weapons in the
world is necessary. Going by the approximate estimates in different books, the total
destructive power of the present stockpile of nuclear weapons in the world is far beyond
10000 Megatons. The actual figure may vary somewhere between 10000 to 15000
Megatons of Nuclear energy. As per the estimate published in 1983 in the book Nuclear
War File compiled by Christopher Chant and Ion Hogg the estimated number of weapon
delivery systems and actual number of warheads in possession of different nations of that
time is really staggering. The statistics are almost twenty years old. The present stockpile
may be somewhat larger than the stockpile of 1983 considering the fact that many new
nations have joined the nuclear club and a few more are stealthily attempting to possess
these weapons. Probably, an accurate figure of such a stockpile may be available with the
defense departments of different nations. As per the statistics of 1983, USA had 1908
nuclear weapon delivery systems with the total number of warheads amounting to 9719.
The USSR (erstwhile) had 2698 weapon delivery systems with a total number of nuclear
warheads amounting to 8040. The number of weapon delivery systems of both the
nations included intercontinental ballistic missiles, intermediate range ballistic missiles,
submarine launched ballistic missiles, and conventional long-range bombers. The total
estimated explosive power of the nuclear weapons possessed by USA and the USSR
(erstwhile) was around 3727 and 6505 Megatons respectively. The total explosive yield
of the weapons possessed by USA and USSR (erstwhile) itself amounted to 10232
Megatons. For an approximate comparison the explosive yield of the atomic bomb
exploded over the city of Hiroshima at the end of World War II was around 13 kilotons.
This is equivalent to an explosion of 13000 tons of TNT, which is a conventional
explosive. One Megaton of explosive yield means 1000 kilotons. Hence, the explosion of
a single nuclear warhead of a yield of one Megaton is almost equivalent to an explosion
of 77 atomic bombs of the types exploded over the city of Hiroshima.

Further, going by the facts of 1983, the total number of nuclear weapon delivery
systems and actual number of nuclear warheads possessed by UK and France were to the
tune of around 200 each. The estimated number of weapons possessed by China, India,

Pakistan and other nations were not clearly indicated. Now, for the sake of an
approximate calculation consider that the total explosive yield of the nuclear weapons
possessed by UK and France is around 1000 Megatons. If we add up another 3000
Megatons of explosive yield on account of the nuclear weapons possessed by China,
India, Pakistan and all other undisclosed nuclear weapon possessing nations, then the
approximate estimate of the explosive yield of the worlds nuclear arsenal nears around
15000Megatons. This figure may not be an accurate picture of the present scenario in the
world. This estimate is only considered for the sake of calculations. But, going by the
reality of life and the present rate of stealth possessive attitude of nations towards nuclear
weapons the world may sooner get saturated with nuclear weapons with this kind of an
explosive yield. This is only a pessimistic estimate considering all the negative attitudes
of the nations.

If we are optimistic about the reality of happenings, in the form of strategic arm
limitation treaties between the mighty nations, the scenario may be somewhat different in
future. There is every likely hood of wisdom prevailing upon the ruling governments
towards a nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation of weapons. Any wise citizen of
any nation always expects this to happen in reality. Further, there is a basic problem with
the arsenal possessed by the erstwhile USSR. With the breakdown of the USSR into
smaller fragment nations in the last decade of the twentieth century, the vast majority of
the nuclear weapons possessed by the USSR have slipped into the hands of these nations.
Probably, Russia and Ukraine control a vast majority of these weapons. Anyhow, this is
not the basic concern of this article about who controls what. The general concern is the
overall outlook of the world as a single entity against this evil arm of science and
technology in possession of the present civilization. The most unfortunate thing is, this
stockpile of nuclear weapons gets transferred to the future generation of different nations
in the process of time. If in course of time the stockpile of these nuclear weapons falls in
the hands of belligerent leaderships of future, then there is always a possibility of a
limited or an escalated global nuclear conflict. This kind of an event can be the most
unfortunate event for the entire civilization. This is the moment when the snake fears of
its death by its own venom.

Whatever may be the political scenario leading to such an unfortunate
situation in this world, if we consider the pure technical aspects of such a conflict, then
the realities are extremely horrible. The usage of all the nuclear weapons of the present
world amount to releasing an explosive energy to the tune of around 15000 Megatons in
the atmosphere. Now, considering the fact that one Megaton of a nuclear explosion is
equivalent to 77 atomic bombs of the Hiroshima type, then 15000 Megatons of nuclear
explosive yield is equivalent of using around 1155000 (1.155 million) nuclear bombs of
the Hiroshima type in the atmosphere of the earth. This is only an elementary statistics.
But, in reality the distribution of the weapons all over the world during an unfortunate
actual conflict may be slightly different. Presently, the distribution pattern is a matter of
military concern. In case of the explosions, which occurred at Hiroshima and Nagasaki
and the routine nuclear tests conducted by many nations the explosions were localized in
nature. The immediate effect of such explosions was confined to a limited volume of the
earths atmosphere. Whereas, in the case of a global conflict this pattern of explosion

spreads worldwide and affects a large volume of the earths atmosphere. The
conventional projections for such kind of a situation are based on the experience of
localized explosions and its effects on the common population. A situation like this can
bring in instant death to billions and misery to the rest of the population. The most
unfortunate aspect of a nuclear war is that, the warheads are targeted mostly towards
civilian population. In case of the conventional wars of the past, to a large extent the
civilian population is not targeted unless by a mistake. The civilian population affected
by the direct impact of the war related explosions is somewhat limited. Whereas, in the
case of a massive nuclear confrontation, the main targets are densely populated cities. In
the most unfortunate situation of a massive nuclear conflict, when an attack takes place
on a densely populated city, the heat produced by the blast can instantly kill millions of
people. The shockwave produced by the blast can flatten multistory buildings and large
structures in a span of minutes. Wild fires can rage all around compounding the misery of
the injured and the leftover population. When this kind of a situation occurs all over the
world, the cumulative effect of this on the planet has been projected in different ways in
several books. The common effects, which can occur in this kind of a worst-case
situation, are generally the destruction of the outer atmospheric ozone layer, a possible
nuclear winter, radiation related diseases and genetic mutation in the left over living
organism.

When a massive nuclear exchange happens on this planet, the heat generated
by the explosions burn up nitrogen gas in the upper atmosphere converting it into oxides
of nitrogen. These oxides of nitrogen in turn react with the ozone layer of the outer
atmosphere destroying it completely or partially. This ozone layer in the outer
atmosphere is primarily responsible for filtering the harmful solar ultraviolet radiation
from entering the earths surface. In the natural course, we are protected from the solar
ultraviolet radiation by this ozone layer. Once the effect of explosions destroys this
protective ozone layer then, the living organisms are exposed to solar ultra violet
radiation resulting in severe skin cancer and other disorders. The loss of life due to this
reason is apart from the loss of life caused by the process of explosions. Destruction of
crops and vegetation are further contemplated losses on the surface of the planet. The
other concept prevailing is that, the dust raised by millions of such explosions floats in
the upper atmosphere of the earth, completely or partially blocking the solar radiation
from entering the surface of the earth. Thus, when the dust layer blocks the solar
radiation, the atmospheric temperature drops considerably. This overall drop in the
ambient temperature of the atmosphere all over the world is termed as the possible
nuclear winter. A prolonged nuclear winter can adversely affect the life of all the living
organisms including the human beings. This drop in earths atmospheric temperature has a
negative effect on crops and agricultural out put slows down drastically. Effect of
radiation related diseases and genetic mutation are well known horrors of the bombs of
Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The immediate eventualities of a massive nuclear conflict on
the civilian population and the further effects on this planet are explained in detail in the
chapter XIII (Who speaks for the earth) of the book Cosmos written by Carl Sagan.
Further, a detailed instructions of how the public can react to such a situation is explained
in the book The Public and the Bomb written by Major-Gen M. Richardson. But, to a
large extent no one is clear about the precise long-term effects of such an action in this

planet. The conventional projections are only the short-term immediate effects of a
massive nuclear conflict in this planet.


2. Transitional Reaction as a Possible Long Term Consequence:

A Transitional reaction is a possible long-range consequence of a massive global nuclear
conflict. The precise consequence of detonating nuclear weapons to the tune of 15000
Megatons of explosive yield in the atmosphere of the earth is not very clear to anyone.
The conventional logic of explanation is based on the facts of what really happened at
Hiroshima, Nagasaki and at the sites of routine nuclear tests conducted by several
nations. Generally, these blasts carried out so far were localized in nature and the effect
of the blasts was limited to a small volume of the earths atmosphere. An extension of
these facts is used as the basis to forecast the eventualities of a massive global nuclear
confrontation. A significant fact to be noted in the case of the nuclear explosions of the
past is that, these explosions have been conducted over a period of more than 50 years
and the locations spread all over the world. But, in the unfortunate situation of a massive
global nuclear conflict in the present world, the probability is that, the explosions will be
carried out within a span of a few hours. In case of a massive conflict involving
intercontinental ballistic missiles, the entire operation can be over within a span of one or
two hours. A conflict using the conventional long-range bombers can cause the havoc
within a period of eight to ten hours. Hence, there is every possibility that the nuclear
explosions carried out all over the world are going to be almost simultaneous or lasting
for a few hours. The other school of thought, which is contemplated in this article, is how
such simultaneous nuclear explosions carried out all over the world react with the
magnetic field of this planet. Generally, in the normal condition, the magnetic field of the
earth is undisturbed and the pattern of flow lines of magnetic flux encompasses the earth
uniformly from the magnetic north pole to the magnetic south pole. This is basic
operating mechanism of the gravitational field of the earth. With this gravitational field of
the earth we are earth bound. Otherwise we could have traveled to the outer space
without the use of spacecrafts. Further, the atmospheric air is equally earth bound
because of this gravitational field. This is a universally known fact. The seat of this
gravitational field lies in the molten iron core of the earth. This fact has been explained in
detailed in the previous article. The possibility of a huge stress building up within the
flow pattern of the gravitational flux and the possibility of a mysterious transitional
reaction 65 million years back leading to the mass extinction of dinosaurs was also
explained earlier. In those situations the transitional reaction could have occurred in the
natural course of action. The stress build up within the flow pattern of the magnetic flux
was gradual and due to the earths rotation around its own axis. Further, this kind of a
stress buildup was from within the earth, the gradual stirring action within the molten
iron core being the primary cause for this stress buildup. When this stress buildup crossed
a critical value, the natural mechanism of stress reliving occurred in the planet leading to
a transitional reaction involving a massive reverse polar magnetic sweep.

In the unfortunate scenario of a massive global nuclear conflict, using explosive
yield of around 15000 Megatons of nuclear energy, there is every possibility that this

spontaneous release of energy reacts violently with the earths magnetic field. Hundreds
of thousands of nuclear warheads exploding all over the world in the earths atmosphere
can react individually disrupting the magnetic flux. The cumulative action of such an
effect can lead to a massive stress buildup within the flow pattern of the earths magnetic
flux. In this case the entire stress buildup occurs due to the relative effect of simultaneous
nuclear explosions happening all over the planet. Further, the point to be noted here is
that this kind of a rupture in the flow pattern of the magnetic flux occurs in the
atmospheric volume encompassing the earth from outside. This is an external stress
buildup, which is caused by artificial means and not a natural one caused within the core
of the earth. A massive stress buildup within the flow pattern of this magnetic flux can
lead to a critical value, triggering an internal action of stress relief within the magnetic
field of the planet. When this kind of a triggering action takes place, the flow pattern of
the magnetic flux changes the polarity instantly resulting in a massive reverse polar
magnetic sweep all over the planet. This is the possible long-range transitional reaction
within the operating system of this planet in case of an all out nuclear conflict.

Consider the case of any localized nuclear explosion of the magnitude of the bomb,
which destroyed the city of Hiroshima. In that case, the explosion was capable enough to
send a cloud to a height of ten to twelve kilometers and the shock wave to a radius of
around ten kilometers. If we assume that a blast of this kind can disrupt the flow pattern
of the magnetic flux of the earth, then a considerably large cylindrical volume of the
magnetic flux within the atmosphere can get affected. For this one has to imagine a
cylindrical volume within the atmosphere around the point of the explosion. The exact
effect can be studied by studying the magnetic anomalies, which can occur during the
time of any nuclear explosion. The effective radius and the effective height from the
center of the blast decide the exact volume of disruption of magnetic flux. For example, if
we assume that a single explosion of the Hiroshima type can affect the earths magnetic
flux to a height of around 100 kilometers and within a radius of around 50 kilometers
from the center of the blast, then the total volume of magnetic flux within this cylinder
amounts to 785398 cubic kilometers. Then 1.155 million numbers of such explosions can
engulf a volume of 907135 million cubic kilometers. The total volume of the earths
magnetic field extending to a height of around 100 kilometers from the surface of the
earth is only 51876 million cubic kilometers. Then the volume disrupted by these
explosions is almost seventeen and half times larger than the actual volume of the earths
magnetic flux within a height of 100 kilometers from the surface. This is only an
exaggerated limit of imagination and not a practical projection. The idea is only for a
theoretical imagination of the situation. But in reality these kinds of tests are confined to
a limited volume of the atmosphere when compared to its total volume, hence the overall
impact on the magnetic field of the earth may be limited. But, in case of a massive global
nuclear conflict involving warheads possessed by all the nations, which are almost
equivalent to 1.155 million bombs of the Hiroshima type, the cumulative effect can be
staggering. In that case, these explosions can lead to a total rupture of the flow pattern of
the magnetic flux within the earths atmosphere. This situation can lead to enormous
amount of stress build up in the flow pattern of the magnetic flux. The eventual
consequence of such a stress build up is a transitional reaction involving a massive
reverse polar magnetic sweep, which relives the stress build up within the magnetic field

of the earth. One has to remember that, this is only a hypothetical possibility and not a
practical conclusion based on experimental findings. But, when we consider the gravity
of situation in this world and the extreme stockpile of nuclear weapons by the nations we
have to keep all options open towards the future. The present forecasts are heading
towards a dead end or a path of no return. But, when the mystic happenings in this planet
are considered with a serious note the possibility of a distinctively different event cannot
be ruled out. Anyhow, this is only an exploration towards the unknowns or a path of
speculative science.

In the case of the happenings in the Bermuda Triangle region, the mystic
magnetic anomalies are the starting point of any situation leading to disappearance of a
ship or an aircraft. These magnetic anomalies generally indicate the proximity of any
localized reaction. In that situation it is always safe to steer away from the area of a
localized reaction. Any vessel attempting to enter the area of a localized reaction risks
the path of no return or a mystic disappearance. This is the common knowledge of the
present world. In the case of a transitional reaction involving a massive reverse polar
magnetic sweep triggered off by the effect of hundreds of nuclear explosions, mystic
disappearances can occur all over the world. The mystic disappearance of dinosaurs in
the past has been attributed to a transitional reaction involving a reverse polar magnetic
sweep. Similarly, a transitional reaction involving a reverse polar magnetic sweep
triggered off by multiple nuclear explosions can result in enormous amount of damage all
over the planet. In all probability, the mystic action can consume enormous amount of
mass from the surface of the world. The primary victim of such an unpleasant happening
can be the human population all over the world. One possibility is that such a transitional
reaction involving a reverse polar magnetic sweep can result in disappearance of
approximately 50 to 60 percent of living organisms and human population all over the
world within a fraction of a few minutes. The left over population may be instantly
baffled by the mystery of happenings around them. Huge structures over the land and
living organisms all around can get sucked in the process of implosion of mass within
space as explained earlier in the analysis of the phenomenon of the Bermuda Triangle
region. When this kind of a reverse polar magnetic sweep occurs over the planet, the
normal pattern of flow of magnetic flux reverses its direction aiming for a stress relief.
This reverse polar magnetic sweep can be compared to a huge tsunami wave crossing the
Pacific Ocean and washing over the islands in the Japanese coast. Tsunami waves are
huge tidal waves observed frequently in the Pacific Ocean triggered by the earthquakes
occurring below the floor of the Pacific Ocean. The shockwave created by the earthquake
occurring below the ocean bed is transferred to the ocean resulting in powerful tsunami
tidal waves on the surface of the ocean. These waves have the capability of traveling
thousands of kilometers over the ocean and unleash tremendous amount of destruction on
far off islands. Similarly, the reverse polar magnetic sweep can sweep the world all over
within a few minutes and suck the mass on the surface with voracious appetite. The
capability of such a sweep can be so enormous over the oceans that massive ships and a
part of marine life can vanish within fraction of minutes. A large number of people all
over the world will be lost without any trace. The phenomenon of the Bermuda Triangle
region can be witnessed all over the world with an utter surprise by the left over
population. As explained earlier, an instantaneous reversal of magnetic poles in the

process of reliving the induced stresses can trigger this kind of a sweep. This kind of an
explanation is too comic in nature to be considered seriously as this resembles a
paragraph from a fairy tale of the medieval times. It is quite natural for many of us as an
event like this is neither rational nor scientific. It defies any scientific school of thought.
But, for the people who have first hand experience of the Bermuda Triangle effect, this
kind of a phenomenon may not be illogical. The world should not consider the events of
the triangle region with a lighter note. Probably, these events are still not getting in the
fold of the tools of science. However, till such time a confirmed scientific reason is
established for such events, explanations like this should be treated as a part of
speculative science and not as a part of actual science itself. Further, the events
contemplated in the process of a massive nuclear conflict are only imaginary. In reality,
the events relating to nuclear explosions defy all the limits of horror, which the mankind
has experienced so far. Whatever may be the consequence of this kind of a situation it is
going to be a man made tragedy. Generally, this is going to be a self-invited extinction
process triggered off in this planet by the nations of the civilization at war with each
other. The effect of a transitional reaction involving a reverse polar magnetic sweep is
apart from the damages projected by the conventional estimates. However these are only
the theoretically projected possibilities and may deviate from the reality as the magnitude
of the event is quite enormous and definitely not worth experimenting in reality. No wise
citizen of any nation ever expects the nuclear conflict to happen in reality. As far as
possible the nations of this civilization should make an earnest attempt to keep away from
such a tragic situation in the interest of life on this planet.
