SUBJECT : 2013 LABOR DAY CELEBRATION
The PGEA seek your usual support in the Annual Celebration of Labor Day which is fast-
approaching. This activity through the years has been considered a very symbolic and
meaningful celebration of the continuing struggle of the workers both from the private and
public sectors in their quest for the upliftment of their social and economic well-being. This
years theme is Manggagawang Pilipino: Handa sa hamon ng Panahon, will
highlight the important and indispensable role of workers in contributing to
equitable growth, decent work promotion, poverty alleviation and national
development.
Relative to the Labor Day Celebration this coming May 1, 2013, the public sector workers
through the PGEA will join the various activities to include a dialogue with the President at
Heroes Hall Malacaang, workers assembly in various areas and other festivities to celebrate
the occasion.
We will present the public sector workers agenda to include Salary increase SSL4, Issues on
Performance Based Bonus (PBB), CNA incentives, EO 180, Magna Carta benefits for health
workers and public school teachers and government rationalization (EO 366) and other
pressing issues and concerns of public workers.
All government personnel and their families are invited to join the Labor Day
activities and workers assembly at the National Treasury, Palacio del Governador
Intramuros, Manila at 1:00 p.m. Afterwhich, participants are invited to join the
Mass and festivities at the Star City Activity Area at 2:00pm. Entrance fee of P60.00
or a special rate of P270.00/head for the ride-all-you-can (32 rides) is extended for
the Labor Day participants (employees and families). Please present your Agency
Employees ID. Participant may opt to join any of the activity.
In this regard, may we again request for your Office support/assistance to your Agency
participants who will be attending the Labor Day Celebration by providing transportation
and food allowance. Also, we are requesting that the attendees be entitled to a one (1) day
compensatory leave or offsetting. As a counterpart, PGEA will provide raffle items and give-
aways. Agency/Associations are requested to submit the list of their employees participants
