OnthemorningofOct.14,thesecondhealthcareworkerreportedtothehospitalwithalowgrade
feverandwasisolated.TheCentersforDiseaseControlandPreventionconfirmsthatthesecond
healthcareworkerwhotestedpositivelastnightforEbolatraveledbyairOct.13,thedaybefore
shereportedsymptoms.
Becauseoftheproximityintimebetweentheeveningflightandfirstreportofillnessthefollowing
morning,CDCisreachingouttopassengerswhoflewonFrontierAirlinesflight1143Clevelandto
Dallas/FortWorthOct.13.
CDCisaskingall132passengersonFrontierAirlinesflight1143ClevelandtoDallas/FortWorth
onOctober13(theflightroutewasClevelandtoDallasFortWorthandlandedat8:16p.m.CT)to
call1800CDCINFO(18002324636).After1p.m.ET,publichealthprofessionalswillbegin
interviewingpassengersabouttheflight,answeringtheirquestions,andarrangingfollowup.
Individualswhoaredeterminedtobeatanypotentialriskwillbeactivelymonitored.
Thehealthcareworkerexhibitednosignsorsymptomsofillnesswhileonflight1143,accordingto
thecrew.FrontierisworkingcloselywithCDCtoidentifyandnotifypassengerswhomayhave
traveledonflight1143onOct.13.Passengerswhomayhavetraveledonflight1143shouldcontact
CDCat1800CDCINFO(18002324636).
FrontierAirlinesStatement
Atapproximately1:00a.m.MTonOctober15,FrontierwasnotifiedbytheCDCthatacustomer
travelingonFrontierAirlinesflight1143ClevelandtoDallas/FortWorthonOct.13hassince
testedpositivefortheEbolavirus.TheflightlandedinDallas/FortWorthat8:16p.m.localand
remainedovernightattheairporthavingcompleteditsflyingforthedayatwhichpointthe
aircraftreceivedathoroughcleaningperournormalprocedureswhichisconsistentwithCDC
guidelinespriortoreturningtoservicethenextday.ItwasalsocleanedagaininClevelandlast
night.PreviouslythecustomerhadtraveledfromDallasFortWorthtoClevelandonFrontierflight
1142onOctober10.
Customerexhibitednosymptomsorsignofillnesswhileonflight1143,accordingtothe
crew.FrontierrespondedimmediatelyuponnotificationfromtheCDCbyremovingtheaircraft
fromserviceandisworkingcloselywithCDCtoidentifyandcontactcustomerswhomaytraveled
onflight1143.
CustomerswhomayhavetraveledoneitherflightshouldcontactCDCat1800CDCINFO.
