LCCI Computerised Book-keeping
and Accounting qualications
Who are the qualications for?
The Level 2 qualication is suitable for people whose
job role requires the computerised processing of
daily book-keeping and accounting transactions and
preparation of routine reports.
The Level 3 qualication is suitable for people whose
job role requires the computerised processing and
completion of advanced accounting transactions and
the preparation of end period reports.
Candidates pursuing these qualications are required
to have book-keeping and accounting knowledge and
skills equivalent to the LCCI Level 2 Book-keeping and
Accounts qualication.
The LCCI computerised book-keeping and accounting
qualications aim to develop students competence in
using computerised accounting software to produce
accurate, professional and well presented accounting
information employing an appropriate range of
accounting procedures.
The qualications are available at two levels:
Level 2 Award in Computerised Book-keeping Skills
Level 3 Award in Computerised Accounting Skills
(UK accredited)
As skills-based qualications, they bridge the gap
between the knowledge of book-keeping and
accounting and the skills required to apply this
knowledge to a computerised accounting system within
the work environment.
Assessment
Assessment takes the form of a practical case study,
in which it is assumed that the candidate is working
in an accounting department using a computerised
accounting system. Candidates are required to process a
variety of business transactions and produce requested
reports/documents accurately and in accordance with
book-keeping practice in a computerised environment.
The time allowed for the examination is 2.5 hours for
Level 2 and 3 hours for Level 3. The examination is set
and marked by EDI.
Grades are determined by the types and number of
errors occurring in candidates work.
