PROCEDURE FOR CHANGING THE MENU TEXT IN PX30 SERIES RELAYS

To change the menu text in 30 series relays first a new data model has to be created with
the customised text:

Step by Step Procedure:

1. Select Micom S1 -> P*30 series.

2. Select S&R 103

3. Go to File and follow the path Open C:\Program File\Areva T&D(Alstom if Software is
very old)\ MiCOM S1\S&R 103\Dmod (select type of file Data
Model) & select open.

4. Now select the same data model of the relay which the menu changing is required.
For Ex: Gpx63302.602
Text Version - 1
Select Language - English/English.

5. Now click on Dictionary
The following message will appear on the monitor
Do you wish to replace the customized texts by dictionary texts
Click on Yes.

6.Now click on Original Texts
The following message will appear on the monitor.
Do you wish to replace the customized tests by original data model texts
Click on Yes.

7. Now click on Addresses.
Select the place in which the text has to be replaced. For ex.:Inputs (Inp)
Replace the text which needs to replaced for the required function by clicking on
Customized Text cell & replace with new text after making the necessary changes click on
Close.

8. Now on the Monitor the following message will be appear.
Do you wish to save the dictionary data model with updated customized text.

Click on yes for both the windows.

9. Now you will find a New data model which is created in the same location as the old one.
For example:
Gpx63312.602

10. Now establish the communication with the relay.



11. Go to communication menu and select Send Data Model menu.
Click on Yes.

12. Select the data model type, which needs to be sent, say Gpx63312.602
Keep the screen as it is.

13. Select the relay in load mode by switching off the Aux. Supply of the relay.
Now go to the relay. Press C & Enter keys simultaneously and powering up the relay.

Enter the following password using local display.

UP-DOWN-LEFT-RIGHT-DOWN-LEFT-RIGHT-UP.

On the display of the relay it shows as below:

Version 2.11
Baud Rate 9600

14. Click OK on the screen.
Now the new data model with changed text file shall get downloaded to the relay.

15. After completion of downloading the data model Do you wish to restart the device now
will be appearing on the monitor. Select Yes.
Now on the monitor Data model transmitted successfully will appear click OK

16. Now extract the relay settings from the relay by
Device Identify device
Identify Click on setting file
Communication Read Value.

Now read out the device settings.

17. Goto Tools menu in S&R 103 Program Settings Language of the Data mode
Change to Regional Language from Reference Language.
Note: The Language option should be change to Regional Language in Setting and S&R
103.
