CREDIT OFFICERS GROUP LENDING (17 POSITIONS)

Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) seeks to appoint dedicated, self-motivated and highly
organized Credit Officer Group Lending (17 positions) to join Credit Group lending
team.

JOB SUMMARY
The Credit Officer Group Lending will be responsible for the recruitment and training
of clients in TPBs Group Lending Credit Policies and Procedures. He/ She will
implement the TPBs procedures during registration, loan application, appraisal, loan
disbursement and loan recovery.
To ensure good customer service, improved performance and profitability as well as
effective risk control and management in the Group lending section in line with
TPBs objectives

Reporting Line: Regional Supervisor/Branch Manager
Locations: Kigoma, Morogoro, Mtwara, Lindi, Babati, Shinyanga, Njombe,
Sumbawanga, Mpanda, Kyela, Geita, Masasi, Sengerema, Tunduma, Kahama,
Korogwe and Peramiho
Work Schedule: As per TPB Staff regulations
Salary: Commensurate to the Job Advertised

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-
Active mobilization, sensitization, formation and recruitment of eeconomically
active members into the groups as well as promoting a saving culture and
savings mobilization in the groups.
Participate in the recovery of written off loans in accordance with TPBs loan
recovery guidelines.
Ensure timely loan repayments and security deposit collections in all groups.
Ensure that all clients loan repayments are accurately posted in the loan
tracking system.
Ensure weekly/biweekly/monthly attendance of meetings by all group members
through training and maintenance of attendance registers.
Ensure accurate and timely filing of all Group Loan documentation.
Ensure effective monitoring of loans through regular visits to clients and manage
delinquency alarm signals by following up on problem clients.
Generate and instill solidarity group pressure in each group as the basis of Co-
guarantorship.

Liaise with the Credit Supervisor to ensure speedy payment of claims in event of
death calamities.
Ensure that all the loan repayment collections are deposited to TPBs bank
account by the group officials within 12hours.
Ensure that all groups are constantly full through continuous mobilization and
timely replacement of exited clients.
Cross sell other TPBs products and services.
Attend any other duties as may be assigned by the Credit Supervisor.
Key results Area:
Monthly disbursement of at least 4 new Group loans.
Maintain at least 340 active clients on a monthly basis
Maintain at least TZ. 100 million in outstanding portfolio on a monthly basis
PAR (above 1 day) of 2% and below
Client retention rate of 95%

Internal: Senior Manager - Group lending, Credit Supervisor, Accountant,
Cashier, Branch Manager
External: Regulators, Customers, Consultants

AUTHORITY LEVELS

As set down in TPBs policy and procedures for a position at a Credit Officer

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Education: Bachelors degree in Economics, Commerce, Business
Administration, Accounting, Finance, banking or other related discipline
Good knowledge of microfinance with significant experience in group loan
lending and at least 2 years of work experience at a Loan Officer level
Experience: Experience of at least 2 years at Group Loan Lending level

Skills / Attributes: High level of integrity.
Must be keen on details.
Excellent communication and report writing skills.
Ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision.
Personable and able to relate to people at all levels.
