Urinary Tract Infection Overview

What causes a UTI?: Common Causes
In many cases, UTIs are a result of bacteria, such as E. Coli, that get into the bladder or
other areas of your urinary tract and begin multiplying. Your urinary tract typically can
fight off the bad bacteria, but at certain timeswhen immunity is lowthe bacteria
can proliferate and a UTI is the result.
In addition, UTIs, specifically urethritis, are a result of contact with sexuallytransmitted diseases, such as herpes simplex virus, gonorrhea, and Chlamydia, as well
as simply being transmitted between healthy sexual partners during intercourse.

Who's at Risk?
Are you unsure whether you are at risk or not? There are a number of conditions that
will place you in a higher risk group for getting a UTI. These conditions and factors
include:

Being a womanprimarily due to the

shortened urethra (as compared to men)
which cuts down the distance the bacteria
needs to travel to reach and infect the bladder

Incomplete bladder emptying resulting from

physical problems, including kidney stones or
injury

Congenital abnormalities of the urinary tract

Suppressed immune system due to such chronic illnesses, such as diabetes

Poor hygiene

Prolonged urinary catheterization

Sexually-Transmitted Diseases (STDs)

Pregnant women and children are also at high risk

www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

UTI Symptoms
As with any physical ailment, UTI symptoms vary from person to person. However,
there are a number of common symptoms that UTI sufferers experience. The most
frequent symptoms include an urgent need to urinate whether or not the bladder is
fulland pain and extreme soreness upon urination. Other symptoms may include:

Diarrhea

Fever

Nausea

Lower back pain

Small amounts of urine despite urge to urinate

Painful urination

Cloudy urination

Blood in urine

Chills

Pain in upper abdomen

**Note: If you notice blood in your urine, have excessive pain in your lower back or
side, or have extended fever, nausea, or vomiting, contact your primary care physician
immediately.

Traditional Medicinal Treatments for UTI

In most cases, a visit to your primary care physician for UTI will
result in the prescription of antibiotics to address the infectious
bacteria and cure the UTI.
Whereas antibiotics definitely have their place in medicinal
treatments, there is growing concern about the frequent use of
antibiotics for chronic UTI sufferers. Specifically, with frequent
antibiotic usage, bacteria begin to develop a resistance to the antibiotic itself. This
resistance actually makes antibiotics less effective over time as a treatment.

www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

In addition, frequent antibiotic use can also have a negative affect on the natural
functioning of your immune system. Strengthening your immune system with a course
of natural remedies and proper diet and hygiene can have an intensely positive impact
on whether or not you will have UTIs in the future.
In this report, you will gain the tools to cure your UTI within 12 hours
Best Of Luck!

The Simple Grocery Cures for UTI

Sufferers
This next section will cover the quick and easy, three grocery item cure for treating urinary
tract infections. These remedies have been rated by our customers as the top natural cures,
and have shown that they can no only treat the symptoms of urinary tract infections, but
also help prevent them.
For most UTI sufferers, the remedies in this section will be all that is needed to put their
pain behind them. However, for best results, it is recommended that you follow through
with the supplements and preventative methods outlined later in this report.
For those of you who dont experience relief from the first cures, I suggest that you explore
the Step-By-Step 12-Hour Action Plan, the Alternative Methods, as well as the other
recommendations outlined in the next few chapters.
You may also find that one is more effective than the other or a combination of treatments
work the quickest.
Your success will depend on the severity of your infection, your willingness to continue the
treatment and how well your body reacts to each treatment. You, the UTI sufferer, will
ultimately determine your course of treatment.

Grocery Item 1. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Cure:

The apple cider vinegar cure ranks at the top of the list for naturally treating urinary tract
infections. Not to mention the fact that most households will have apple cider vinegar in
their kitchen cupboard. BUT, make sure that it is organic! We suggest Braggs or a
similar organic brand.

The Cure:
For minor irritation or during first stages:

Mix 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar in 16oz water

and sip throughout the day.

Continue until symptoms are alleviated. If

symptoms last more than two days, stop treatment.

For severe irritation:

Mix 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar in 8oz water.

Drink 3 times a day.

Continue until symptoms are alleviated. If

symptoms last more than two days, then stop
treatment.

It is also recommended that you add a small splash to each

8oz glass of water you drink during the day.
Caution: Acid in the ACV will decay your teeth sooner, so rinse your mouth with water
after drinking the remedy.
Alternative Apple Cider Vinegar Cures:
Soaking in a bath with apple cider vinegar added to the water can also be beneficial. It can
help treat the bladder infection, while reducing symptoms and bringing relief from the
burning sensation typically associated with the infection.

www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

10

Why This Works:

Apple cider vinegar is rich in the vitamins, minerals and trace elements found in apples,
including: vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin, A, vitamin P, vitamin B1, vitamin B2 and vitamin
B6. It also has beneficial minerals like manganese, iron, calcium, sodium, magnesium,
sulfur, copper, phosphorus, potassium, silicon, chlorine and fluorine.
It also normalizes acid levels (pH) in the stomach and blood, improves digestion and the
assimilation of nutrients, reduces intestinal and fecal odors, helps cure constipation, and
helps prevent bladder stones and urinary tract infections.
Apple cider vinegar destroys microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses, and
prevents poisons from reaching the rest of the systems of the body. It has been proven to
inhibit the growth of Candida. The acid nature of vinegar makes the digestive tract
environment unpleasant for germs and fungus.
Apple cider vinegar has proven to be a natural treatment (and preventative) in cases of
urinary tract infections by lowering the bloods natural alkalinity, bringing it closer to a
natural healthy acidic state. A naturally acidic digestive tract, with the correct pH balance,
will discourage the growth of bacteria, yeast and fungus.

Grocery Item 2. Baking Soda or Alka Seltzer Cure:

For this cure you can use either the baking soda cure or the Alka Seltzer cure.
The Baking Soda Cure:

Mix 1/2 Tablespoon (severe), or Teaspoon (minor) in 8 oz water.

Drink 1 to 3 times daily for 1-2 days. If symptoms last more than two days, stop
treatment.

www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

11

The Alka Seltzer Cure:

Follow instructions on package.

Drink 1 to 3 times daily for 1-2 days. If symptoms last more than two days, stop
treatment.

Caution: Baking soda can deplete the body of essential vitamins and minerals, especially
B vitamins, folic acid and chromium. If you have high blood pressure do NOT take baking
soda without talking to your health care practitioner.
Why These Work:
Much like apple cider vinegar, baking soda neutralizes the acidity in your urine, speeding
along your recovery. Alka Seltzer, which contains baking soda and aspirin (pain reliever),
will help normalize pH levels and relieve the pain associated with urinary tract infections.

Grocery Item 3. Parsley Tea Cure:

Parsley is another great urinary tract infection treatment, because of its ability to flush out
bacteria present in the urinary track or bladder and for its immune boosting vitamins.
The Cure:

Boil 4 cups of filtered water.

Remove the water from the heat.

Mince (cut up finely) 4 heaping teaspoons of fresh parsley (including stems & roots if
you can get them).

Steep 20 minutes; strain it is okay to drink hot or cold, and it may be reheated
without harming it, but do not boil it.

Drink all 4 cups daily for 6-7 days.

Symptoms will greatly be reduced by the 3rd day.

www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

12

Why This Works:

Parsley tea is a very good treatment for UTI, especially for candida sufferers. Parsley tea has
been a used traditionally to treat urinary tract infection, kidney stones, liver, bladder and
prostrate problems. Parsley provides the urinary system with apiol, a volatile oil that acts as
a urinary tract antiseptic. Parsley is also high in vitamin C. It acts as a diuretic, kidney and
liver cleanser, helps to relieve pain and normalizes pH levels.
Caution: Parsley should not be consumed as a drug or supplement by pregnant women.
Parsley as an oil, root, leaf, or seed could lead to uterine stimulation and preterm labor.

UTI Sufferers
1. You're uncomfortable.
2. Youre in pain.
3. And, youre searching for a way to eliminate your UTI discomfortNOW!
To start on the path to feeling better, begin following your step-by-step plan to relieve
your pain and symptoms in just 12 hours or less. Most of the remedies below will help
relieve the pain and burning you experience upon urination. A number of the remedies
will also work to flush the bacteria out of your body and completely eliminate your
infection. All of the remedies provided below have been tried and tested successfully by
individuals suffering with Urinary Tract Infections.
Follow the hour-by-hour guidelines to achieve the maximum benefits.

GROCERY ITEMS YOU WILL NEED

You will also need to gather the following items. You may have some of these already; if
not, you can find them either at your local grocery store or health food store.

Cranberry tablets

Spinach

Unsweetened cranberry juice

2 hot peppers

Fresh parsley

Acidophilus with Bifidus (digestive

Potato

Carrot

Olive oil

Beets

Garlic juice

Onion

bacteria)

www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

14

HOUR ONE

Begin your 12-hour journey to health by taking two (2)

cranberry tablets with one 8-ounce glass of water. In most
cases, you should be able to find a bottle of cranberry tablets
at your local grocery or health food store for less than $10.

Wait 30 minutes. Then, mix 1 Tsp. baking soda with 8-ounces

of water and drink.

Why This Works: The cranberry tablets are acidic and create a hostile urinary
environment for the bacteria and helps to flush the bacteria from your system. On the
other hand, the baking soda acts to neutralize the acids that contribute to the burning
sensation you feel upon urinating.
**Note: Do not take the baking soda with cranberry juice, use water instead. Baking
soda and cranberry will actually neutralize each other.

HOUR TWO

Boil 1 cup of water

Add 1 Tsp. parsley (can be fresh or dried leaves)

Allow mixture to steep for 10 minutes

Strain parsley from water and drink.

Why This Works: Parsley is not just a favorite garnish, it also provides the urinary
system with apiola volatile oil that acts as a urinary tract antiseptic.
You should notice relief from the discomfort and pain you feel in your bladder for
several hours. This remedy should start working within 20 minutes.

www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

15

HOUR THREE

Drink 1 glass of unsweetened cranberry juice

Take two capsules of acidophilus with bifidus.

These capsules can be found at most local grocery
stores, too, at a cost of between $8-20 per bottle.

Why This Works: As we have seen, the unsweetened

cranberry juice helps flush your system and acidify your
urine to help kill bacteria. The acidophilus and bifidus
helps restore a normal pH balance in the system by
helping regenerate the good bacteria that populates
and defends your digestive and urinary tracts.

HOUR FOUR
You are one-third of the way through your 12-hour treatment! How are you feeling? This
next detoxifying flush will greatly aid you in your quest to be free of UTI pain and
discomfort.
Begin by drinking 1 8-ounce glass of water mixed with a packet of Alka-Seltzer.
Then, combine the ingredients below in a large container to
create a detoxifying flush.

cup potato peelings

cup carrot peelings

1/3 cup chopped beets

cup chopped onion

cup chopped spinach

cup parsley

2 hot peppers

1 gallon water

www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

16

Simmer on low for 2 hours. Then, strain vegetables and drink the broth. You will likely
be unable to drink the entire gallon in one hour, and thats perfectly fine. Drink as much
as you feel able, and continue sipping the broth for the remainder of the day.
Why This Works: The Alka-Seltzer helps relieve pain and burning, and helps
maintain the pH of the urinary system. The detoxifying broth will help offset any
imbalance in your pH and help flush out your infection. In addition, many of the
vegetables are high in vitamin C. Also known as ascorbic acid, vitamin C both makes
urine more acidic and therefore more hostile to bacteria, and it also strengthens the
immune system which will help you fight your UTI more
effectively.

HOUR FIVE

Combine 1 Tbs. apple cider vinegar with one 8ounce glass of warm water.

Stir well. Then, drink.

Wait 30 minutes and take 2 cranberry tablets.

Why This Works: In addition to the affect of the cranberry tablets, the apple cider
vinegar is rich in enzymes and potassium, as well as many other trace minerals. In
addition, apple cider vinegar is a natural antibiotic and will help attack the bad
bacteria of the infection. The combination will help flush bacteria from the body. You
can repeat up to three times per day to help prevent future infections as well.

HOUR SIX
You should be proud of yourselfyoure half way through your
12-hour program.
Renewed health and diminished pain is just around the corner!

Combine 1 Tsp. olive oil with 1 Tsp. pure garlic juice

Mix with 1 glass warm water and drink

www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

17

Why This Works: Pure garlic juice helps kill the bacteria that cause Urinary Tract
Infections. Garlic itself is often considered the heavy weight of all herbal remedies
because it has such inherently strong antibacterial properties.

HOUR SEVEN
If the garlic juice was a little difficult for you to swallow, be thankful. In Hour Seven you
simply need to drink a cup of juice.

Drink 1 8-ounce glass of unsweetened cranberry juice

Why This Works: As we have seen, cranberry tablets keep bacteria from clinging to
the walls of the urinary tract (flushing out bad bacteria) and, because of its high
vitamin C levels, cranberry acidifies the urine. Cranberries also help to deodorize urine.

HOUR EIGHT
If you were missing the taste of apple cider vinegar, its your lucky hour.

Combine 1 Tbs. apple cider vinegar with 1 8-ounce

glass of warm water

Drink

HOUR NINE

Mix 1 Tsp. baking soda with 8 ounces of water

Drink

Why This Works: Remember, baking soda helps alleviate residual pain and burning
upon urinating.

HOUR TEN
You are in the home stretch to finding success against your UTI. The end is near!

Combine 1 Tsp. olive oil with 1 Tsp. pure garlic juice

Mix with 1 8-ounce glass of warm water and drink

www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

18

HOUR ELEVEN
To begin your eleventh hour, simply pour yourself a tall glass of unsweetened cranberry
juice.

Drink 1 8-ounce glass of unsweetened cranberry juice

HOUR TWELVE
In your final hour, congratulate yourself for following the step-by-step program to the
end and conclude with the following steps.

Take 1 8-ounce glass of water with 1 packet Alka-Seltzer

Drink another bowl of detoxifying flush remedy (see Hour Four)

HOORAY!
If you completed all of these steps, you should notice a significant reduction in your pain
and discomfort in just these 12 short hours or less.
If you are serious about preventing UTI in the future, there are a number of additional
steps that you should consider taking to improve your chances of remaining UTI-free for
life.
Specifically, these steps ask you to pay special attention to the foods you eat and the
supplements you take as well as to maintaining good hygiene. Establishing a healthy,
strong, and clean body with an equally sturdy immune system is one key to preventing
any further UTIs!

www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

19

Your Diet Makes the Difference

In addition to the remedies above, you should also pay close attention to the foods you
eat within the first 12-24 hours of a urinary tract infection. Your diet is very important in
determining whether you are to remain UTI-free.
The reason for watching your foods is simple: Certain foods are more likely to contribute
to the cause and severity of UTIs while other foods actually can help cure and prevent
UTIs. That said, your plan of action should be quite basic:
Eliminate the foods that contribute to causes of UTIs and include the foods that foster a
healthy environment to avoid and overcome UTIs.

Eliminate Bad Foods

The first step is identifying and eliminating potential trigger foods from your diet to help
alleviate your symptoms and stop the rapid growth of bacteria. How do you do this?
During your 12-hour regimen, be sure you eliminate all the foods in your diet that are
contributing to your urinary tract infection. For the best result, you should continue to
do so for no less than 1-3 days. Yes, believe it or not, certain foods can make your
symptoms worse and make recurring infections more likely.
If one of your favorite foods is on the bad list, dont worry. You don't need to eliminate
these foods permanently from your diet. You are just removing them long enough for
your symptoms to go away and your body to fight back the infection and regain its
optimum health.

Foods That Can Irritate Urinary Infections

Foods that have a high acid content will often make your symptoms worse, so you need
to cut these foods out of your diet immediately when you discover you have a UTI. You
don't need to give up these foods forever, but you'll realize drastic improvements if you
cut them out for a few days.

www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

20

Foods to Eliminate during the first 12-24 Hour Window of a UTI:

Coffee

Tea

Chocolate

Chicken livers

Cola

Corned beef

Guava

Chicken

Oranges

Steak

Pineapples

Corn

Strawberries

Eggs

Tomatoes

Sour cream

Wine, particularly red

Carbonated beverages

Foods that Can Help Restore Bodily Health

After youve been sure to eliminate any potentially toxic foods from your diet, youll
want to invest in some foods that will help restore a healthy pH in your urinary tract and
that help your body flush the bad bacteria away. Now go to the store and fill your
grocery cart with the kinds of foods that are going to help balance out your body's acid to
base ratio and make you feel better!
During your 12-hour step-by-step remedy, you can enjoy as much of any of these foods
as you like.
Foods to Incorporate into the first 12-24 Hour Window of a UTI:

Kale

Broccoli

Spinach

Mustard greens

Potatoes

Beet greens

Yams

Eggplant

Zucchini

Green beans

Carrot

Avocado

Squash

Grape

Onion

Pear

Mineral water

Apple

www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

21

Remember you won't have to eat these foods forever, but it will help if you at least
consume them during the initial 12-hour period of UTI symptoms. The more you
incorporate into your diet on a regular basis, the more likely your body will be able to
ward off future infections.
The best way to prevent recurring UTIs is to eat a high fiber diet that is properly
balanced. In the future, make every attempt to balance out your diet as much as possible
to help prevent recurring infections.

Additional Ways to Cure and Prevent Urinary Tract Infections

After following the 12-hour program outlined above and modifying your diet to achieve
the best health possible, you are well on your way to being UTI-free for life.
To continue helping you on your way, weve identified a number of additional ways that
you can take care of your body and prevent future UTIs.
In the following pages, you will learn about:

Supplementation

Herbs and their Properties that directly affect UTI symptoms and sufferers

Homeopathic remedies

Essential Oils and Aromatherapy

Reflexology

Preventing Future occurrences of UTI

Supplementation
Once you have undertaken the 12-hour regimen to relieve your immediate pain and
discomfort, you might consider some nutritional supplements that will help with any
residual infection and may also prevent recurring infections. Just a few supplements
used in combination with the right diet can help to eliminate all the bad bacteria in your
system. All of the ingredients below can be found at your local grocery or health foods
store, so take note.

Reflexology
Long used by other cultures, reflexologyand
acupressureare gaining popularity in the United
States. The techniques of reflexology and acupressure
employ the use of trigger point therapy.
For example, acupressurea form of acupuncture in
which fingers and thumbs rather than needles are used
to press points on the surface of the bodynot only
relieves muscular tension, which enables more blood
and therefore more oxygen and nutrientsto be carried
to tissue throughout the body, but also aids in healing by
removing waste products from the body.
Having an expert work the bladder and kidney points on the bottoms of your feet can
have a positive impact on healing your UTI. In addition, you can learn how to use
common household items, such as a golf ball, to self-administer reflexology to points on
your hands and feet.

Natural Medicines
While Western medicine has become the norm in many cultures, it is not the only
treatment option. Conventional western medicine, often called allopathic medicine, is
the system of medicine taught at most medical schools and most pharmaceutical and
synthetic medicines are manufactured and marketed according to the principles of
allopathic medicine.
Allopathic medicine is also sometimes called orthodox medicine.
Because most of us in the Western world have grown up in a society in which allopathic
medicine is the prevailing norm, we forget that, only a few decades ago, homeopathic,
herbal and other natural medicines were commonly available and freely used even by
conventional doctors.
While there are often heated debates about which system of medicine is better than the
other, many responsible doctors (whether they are allopathic or not) recognize that both
have a role to play in the treatment program.
Natural medicine has often been frowned on by conventional doctors, especially by
those who did not have sufficient knowledge of these medicines. However, it is
encouraging to note that some medical schools are now beginning to re-introduce it into
their course work, thereby providing doctors with a wider range of treatment options
from which to choose.
In many countries, especially in Europe, India and China, natural and homeopathic
medicines are commonly prescribed by conventional doctors and represent a significant
part of the total annual drug sales.
Naturopathy is a branch of medicine (just as allopathy is a branch of medicine), which
operates according to the underlying philosophy that the body has an innate capacity to

heal itself. While natural medicines are often called alternative or complimentary
medicines, they are, in fact, a unique and independent form of medicine in their own
right, well able to treat a variety of conditions.
Perhaps the term holistic medicine is more apt, given the broad range of treatment
options and approaches which are to be found within the practice of natural medicine,
which encompasses many different disciplines, including herbalism, homeopathy,
iridology, osteopathy, chiropractic, therapeutic massage techniques, aromatherapy,
acupuncture and many, many more.
Most naturopaths will use a variety of treatment modalities in order to treat their
patients in a holistic way to support health, relieve symptoms and prevent future
disease.
In fact, even the World Health Organization defines health as being "... more than
simply the absence of illness. It is the active state of physical, emotional, mental and
social well-being." This is a wonderfully clear description of holistic or natural medicine,
which strives to support health (thereby relieving or preventing symptoms), rather than
simply eliminating disease.
Although allopathic medicine certainly has a role to play and has made a tremendous
contribution to medical science during the past century, there is a growing perception
that it is not the only answer and that, in many cases, holistic medicine can accomplish
just as much, if not more without the risk of side effects, addiction and sacrifice to
health so commonly associated with pharmaceutical drugs.
Contrary to common perception, and provided that they are manufactured in the correct
way, natural medicines can work quickly and safely to promote healing. In many cases,
they can succeed where pharmaceutical drugs have failed. Despite frequent reports that
they are unproven and untested, the opposite is true.

31

Natural medicines have a long history of usage and there is a wealth of empirical
evidence to support their effectiveness and safety. In addition, active clinical research is
carried out by many academic hospitals and universities to support the extensive
traditional and empirical evidence behind natural medicines.
It is also important to know that, like any medicine, herbal and homeopathic medicines
must be manufactured in the correct way, following acceptable procedures and
manufacturing methods to ensure maximum effectiveness and safety.
Due to the recent rise in popularity of natural remedies, many companies have sprung
up to take advantage of the market. Unfortunately not all of them are equipped to
manufacture to the correct standards, often resulting in a flood of inferior (and
sometimes even unsafe) remedies onto the market and giving natural remedies a bad
name.
Even some pharmaceutical companies have rushed to claim their market share by
producing so-called standardized extracts of herbs and offering these as superior to the
tried and tested methods of naturopathic manufacturing.
Nothing could be further from the truth. While standardized extracts may offer benefit
of easy consistency of dosage (and cheaper more efficient production lines), they have
grave disadvantages. These include an increase in side effects as the medicines produced
in this manner lose the natural protective properties of the herbs. In some cases, these
side effects have proved fatal as was seen in the liver toxicity associated with
standardized extracts of kava kava, a herb previously safely used for generations without
any known side effects.
Most naturopaths recommend what is called the Full Spectrum Method of extraction
which retains the benefits of ALL the active ingredients within the herb as opposed to
isolating only one thereby providing a more complete treatment as well as superior
protection against side effects.

Whatever your choice, always choose wisely. Research what is best for you. If you have a
chronic or life threatening condition, dont make changes without first discussing them
with your doctor in order that your condition may be monitored. Well informed and
supportive practitioners will support patients who want to take responsibility for their
own health.

Agothosma betulina (buchu) is a urinary antiseptic and possesses diuretic

properties. Buchu has been used by the natives of the Western Cape of Southern
Africa for many centuries. Early Dutch settlers used buchu to make a brandy tincture
and Boegoebrandewyn (buchu brandy) is still used today to treat many disorders.

Arctostaphylos uva-ursi has been shown to kill bacteria in the urine.

Achillea millifolium contains alkamides and volatile oils rich in sesquiterpene

lactones which act as an anti-inflammatory.

Melissa Officinalis (lemon balm) is indigenous to the Eastern Mediterranean

region but is widespread throughout Africa. It is often used as a general nervous
system restorative, digestive calminative and to reduce blood pressure. It acts as an
anti-viral and its active ingredients include volatile oil (including citronella), tannins,
flavinoids, tocopherols and choline.

Avena Sativa (also called Hawer) is used as a restorative and nutritive tonic and as
a diuretic.

Hypericum perforatum is used for viral and bacterial infections.

Echinacea angustifolia increases body resistance to infection and has a powerful

antiseptic action.

Vaccinium myrtillus (billberry) contains anthocyanosides, a potent bioflavonoid

complex with antioxidant properties.

Triple Complex UT-Tonic

http://www.uti-report.com/tonic
Triple Complex UT-Tonic is a combination formula containing three bio-chemic tissue
salts known for their ability to assist the body to fight infection (natural antibiotic
alternative) and to relieve a range of bladder and urinary tract problems including
burning while urinating, involuntary incontinence, kidney problems, gallstones and
weak bladder.
www.UTIReport.com - Barton Publishing Inc.

34

Because all biochemic tissue salts are naturally occurring in the body, Triple Complex
UT-Tonic is safe to use for all ages from infancy to the elderly, and can also be used with
confidence during pregnancy and nursing.
Other benefits include relief from morning sickness and nausea during pregnancy, as
well as improvement in the bioavailability of iron and oxygen in all body cells.
One of the properties that make biochemical tissue salts so effective is that they are
known to assist healing on the cellular level, rather than simply suppressing symptoms.
Triple Complex UT-Tonic contains the following therapeutic herbs in convenient and
fast-acting drop format:

Ferrum Phosphoricum (Ferrum Phos.) is a biochemic tissue salt, which has

many uses in the body. Two of the most important benefits are in the ability of
Ferrum Phos to combat all types of infection and inflammation. Ferrum Phos also
helps to strengthen the walls of the blood vessels and thus improves the body's
ability to distribute oxygen-rich blood and iron to all cells, thereby facilitating
healing.

Ferrum Phos is also very helpful during pregnancy and helps to reduce morning
sickness and ease the involuntary incontinence (sudden spurts of urine) often
experienced by pregnant women, those with a prolapsed uterus and also in the
elderly. An excellent Tissue Salt for the treatment of cystitis or any urinary tract
infection.

Natrium Phosphate (Nat. Phos.): acts as a biochemical antacid, acid neutralizer

and PH balancer. It helps to ease the burning sensation experienced during a urinary
tract infection and will also help with vaginal infections accompanied by an
unpleasant itch. Nat Phos is invaluable for all ailments affecting the urinary system,
including acid urine, bladder weakness, gallstones, kidney pain and nephritis. Like
Ferrum Phos., it also helps to reduce nausea.

35

Kalium Sulphate (Kali Sulph.) is an effective natural antibiotic, carrying oxygen to

the cells to assist with healing. Even severe infections can respond very well to Kali
Sulph., which is useful for both chronic and acute infection.

**Note: UT Tonic is presented in small lactose tablets. The amount of lactose used is very
small and is generally well tolerated even by people who are lactose intolerant.

Preventing Future Occurrences of UTI

Now that you are well equipped to help cure UTIs, finally arm yourself with these
important tips to help you prevent future UTI occurrences.

Drink plenty of fluid to flush bacteria from your system regularly. You should drink a
minimum of 8 glasses of water per day. This will help your body purge and eliminate
harmful toxins and keep the balance of healthy bacteria in your body.

Take supplemental vitamin C from 250-1000mg per day. You should also regularly
incorporate foods rich in vitamin C in your diet, such as fruits and dark green, leafy
vegetables.

Drink unsweetened cranberry juice regularly to prohibit bacteria from clinging to

your urinary and digestive tracts. During an active infection, you can drink from 4-6
glasses per day. At other times, one or two glasses are sufficient.

Urinate frequently whenever you have the urge, dont hold it in. When you hold your
bladder and it gets too full, bacteria flourish and your chances for a recurring
infection increase significantly.

Urinate after sexual intercourse. This will help flush bad bacteria from your body
and maintain a healthy urinary tract.

After using the bathroom, be sure wipe from front to back. This will prevent bacteria
from accidentally being carried into more infection-prone areas.

Use loose fitting undergarments and cotton underwear to prevent irritation. Tight
garments can cause discomfort and irritation and also allow bacteria to transfer to
unwelcome areas.

Avoid eating a diet high in acidic foods, including alcohol and coffee.

37

Routinely supplement with acidophilus or eat yogurt several times per week to
encourage a healthy supply of good bacteria in your digestive and urinary systems.

Avoid feminine hygiene sprays and scented douchesthese can irritate the urinary
tract.

If you are using spermicidal birth control containing nonoxynol-9, consider changing
to another form of birth control as the nonoxynol-9 tends to disturb the bacterial
balance in the vagina.
