Oracle and Intermec have teamed up to bring a powerful field service solution to market. Oracles
Mobile Field Service solution is part of the Oracle E-Business Suite and is designed for field service
organizations to automate the process of dispatching field technicians to service calls in remote
locations. By providing continuous connection over GPRS/GSM networks via the Intermec 700
Series mobile computer, Oracle Mobile Field Service drives profitability by closing the
information gap between the enterprise and the mobile field worker.

When using Oracle Mobile Field Service, a field technician can send and receive all the
information needed to complete his work in the field and report his progress. The information
is stored locally on the Intermec 700 or Intermec CT60 pen tablet, enabling him to work
in all places independent of network coverage. The dispatcher sends a job to the field
technician using Oracles field service application. The field service representative receives
customer contact information, service requests and tasks assigned to him, customer product
descriptions, and any notes pertaining to the customer. The field service representative
can also view any contract and service history information or use the application to record
counter readings, order parts and create service requests for new work. After the field service
representative completes a task, he can enter the labor time, materials, and expenses incurred
on the job which then updates enterprise applications.
