Greetings from Salt Lake City. It looks like we are finally emerging from a long hard winter! Our
last gathering was cancelled due to weather (it snowed 6 inches that night!). Our new meeting is
scheduled for:

Please attend our book gathering it will be a potluck event (snacks and desserts) with a walkthrough and lecture by the owner of a new bookstore in Salt Lake City that specializes in bookarts!
Melissa Sanders has been a bookseller for more than 10 years and worked for her father at Ken
Sanders Rare Books, as well as other stores. She has recently opened her own store and we have
been invited to have our book gathering there! Her lecture is titled Selling Bookarts. See you
there.

Presented by the Colorado Arts & Crafts Society Artisans Guild Forum. The intention in hosting the Guild Forum is that the common
goals and devotion to craftsmanship of each of the Guilds will lead to a wider promotion of fine craft in Colorado and an appreciation of
the place of the Arts and Crafts movement principles and values in the 21st century. GBWs Rocky Mountain Chapter will have a table.

There are five categories in the competition: fine binding, case binding, the complete book, restoration, and historic binding. The total
prize fund will be about 6000. The biennial SoB Conference takes place in Leeds August 29 - 31, 2013. All the books entered will be on
display throughout the duration, and prizes will be announced towards the end of the conference. The winning books will then form part
of a touring exhibition travelling to venues around the UK.
