DKI Jakarta
DKI Jakarta is a province in which the capital city is also the capital city of Indonesia. Jakarta
has a population of approximately 9,580,000 residents. For 2011, there were reported 54,799
violent crimes, 64 murders, 68 rapes, 1,936 aggravated assaults, 6,807 burglaries, 7,702 thefts
and 5,352 vehicle thefts. The implementations of each principle are as follows:
Belief in the one and only God
Shortly after the proclamation of Indonesian independence in 1945, a mob of Muslims
hurriedly moved to Tugu Church in North Jakarta. They wanted to destroy the church since it
was understood to be a symbol of colonialism during the Dutch era. On the arrival of the
enraged horde, a Muslim leader, Haji Usman, stood between them and the church. He
sensibly took a risk, even with the possibility that he would lose his life. In the end, he
climbed a ladder triumphantly. The mob cancelled its plans and dismissed itself. As we
know, even though the church was a symbol of colonialism, it is also used by Cristian to
pray. Destroying Tugu Church means destroying Cristians praying place, in the other
meaning, not respecting the religion that exists.
Just and civilized humanity
There were several cases of kidnapping in Jakarta. These kidnappings were primarily cases
involving Indonesians only and were typically financially motivated, and the perpetrators
were familiar with the victim's family. It shows that the doers do not implement the meaning
of second principle. They do not feel what someone feels whenever somebody he love is
gone. To be a civilized human, the doers need to understand that.
The unity of Indonesia
Conflict can easily happen in Jakarta because there are many people from any ethnic living
there. For instance, in East Jakarta conflict can happen because of a simple problem, parking
area. Moreover, the number of population is very significant. The traffic jams which always
happen every day is the cause of why the people become very temperamental. In that case,
they cannot control their emotion whenever a simple problem happens.

Democracy guided by the inner wisdom in the unanimity arising out of deliberations
amongst representatives
Every day in Jakarta there are multiple demonstrations. They were usually peaceful, and the
Indonesian National Police presence was normally sufficient to maintain order. However, at
times, demonstrations have become violent, particularly when involving issues related to
religion. For example, Anti-American demonstrations at the Embassy have been sparked by
foreign policy toward the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and other issues related to the Middle
East, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
Social justice for the whole of the people of Indonesia
Bachtiar Chamsyah, former vice-ministry of social, was imprisoned a year and eight months
regarding with corruption case of sarong, sewing machine, and imported cow. However, he
was considered as guilty by Tipikor Courts judge because he did not know about it, although
he was proved that he did not receive any money from the corruption.
From rumors that has been spread through internet, Tipikor Court is known as a hell for any
suspect, where anyone who is judged in that court will be possibly in prison.

Banten
To know about the implementation of Pancasila in Banten, Desa Muara Binuangeun is taken
as a sample of the implementation. In Desa Muara Binuangeun, Banten, most of people in the
society work as fishermen. Conflict that happen between fishermen can be an unavoidable
situation, such as in determining a spot for hunting fish. The conflict is mostly caused by the
lack of solidarity between the fishermen, therefore, disharmony appears. However, such a
situation rarely happens there. The people in that village really respect another one. They are
likely implementing the value of pancasila.
Every year, these people celebrate an event, which we can consider as one of
implementations of Pancasila in Banten, called Pesta Nelayan. It is a tradition to thank God
for the foods and beverages He has given. The implementations of each principle are as
follows:
Belief in the one and only God
The event is not thing that should be banned due to misinterpretation of people from another
area who think that it is not what their religion is saying. It should be considered as culture
which has to be preserved. It is a momentum as their manifestation of thankfulness to The
Only God because of everything He has given.

Just and civilized humanity

All Fishermen have rights to get a worth justice as an Indonesian Citizen. Indeed, if it is
implemented well, the fishermen will gain the same status in term of social, culture, and even
economy, which will take effect on a pride as an Indonesian.
The unity of Indonesia
This event involves every fisherman who is living around Desa Muara. This implies
cooperation among fishermen, which will affect their unity in society.
Democracy guided by the inner wisdom in the unanimity arising out of deliberations
amongst representatives
Pesta Nelayan is a place for fisherman to complain and suggest one another. In context of
making a plan, the people firstly have a discussion. It has been done by their ancestor since
years ago. The discussion is attended by many people, including society figures, government
officers (such as regional government), and also authority (such as police).
Social justice for the whole of the people of Indonesia
The fifth principle of pancasila has the most fundamental effect on the unity of Republic of
Indonesia. As we know, in Indonesia, Justice is a factor which is in critical situation. We can
see that many violations exist due to injustice. In the context of Pesta Nelayan, by seeing
many mechanisms that are taken and the committee of Pesta Nelayan, it is no doubt that it
is a form of justice. For instance, as we know that every fisherman is involved in the event of
Pesta Nelayan. It shows that there is no discrimination, everyone who is involved is the
same.

The Similarity of Banten and DKI Jakarta

Crime always increases before the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan in Jakarta and Banten.
This is due to the pressure of providing gifts for family members and obtaining money to
return to their villages for the holiday Eid Al-Fitri, which is extremely important to the
majority of Indonesians. Since majority who inhabits the area is Moslem and some of them
are still in poverty, it is still possible that the crime will increase for the next years.
