SMART VEHICLE INFORMATION

TRACKING SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION:

SVITS is a mobile application which is used to guide the user to the

destination by providing information about the transport systems.
This is a user friendly mobile application in which, user can get the
information in the form of messages and in the form of
graphical representations (like MAP's).Using this typical application, the
user can get the current position and some parameters (like average speed,expected
time) of various
means of transport (BUS/TRAIN).

SVITS is an GPRS enabled application which is useful for a

person who is new to the city to get the relevant destination information.
This application needs to be updated at regular intervals of time. These
updations will be done by the bus conductor in the case of bus
transportaion system and ticket collector(TC) in the case of railway
transportation system.Using this application the user can know the status of the
bus whether
its is crowded or not.

CURRENT SCENARIO:
We often see people travelling by bus does'nt exactly know when buses are
available,and they
will be waiting for long time in the bus stands.
Due to this,they may not be able to do their work in time.
for instance consider a foreigner who came to india,may not be aware of indian
road
transport system,and he may not communicate with other people as he
does'nt know local languages.

SOLUTION:

To overcome these kind of problems,

What if we could have a mobile application,where in the user can get the
contionous alerts on his mobile about the
bus timings or present positions of various buses routed in that
direction.
If we can design an application which gives average speed, predicted time for the
bus to
reach the selected stop ( by the user) n predicted time for the bus to
reach destination point.
This type of application helps foreigner to get information without communicating
with other persons .

ADVANTAGES:-

1.It is help ful for the people who are new to the city
2. It saves the time of the user
3.User doesn't need to wait for longer time in bus stops(as he gets continous
alerts)
4.The user can avail this facility at lower cost(if it comes into existence).

DISADVANTAGES:-

1.It may be not useful for persons who are un-educated as they cannot use mobiles.
2.It may be costly.(it might be affordable if it comes into exictence and many
users use it).
3.Users need to activate GPRS on their mobiles(as we know all mobiles do not have
these features).

1.1 Bus transportation system.
1.2 Railway transportation system.

2.Conductor used to regularly update the vehcile information.

Technology:GPRS/GPS.
Programming lanuguage:J2ME,ANDROID.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS:

Mobile phone which is GPRS and GPS enabled.

p4 system- 1gb ram,40gb HD
