How it works:
UNIST MQL Tube Bending Systems control lubricant by delivering the exact amount of lube to the
mandrel, bend die assembly, and/or the tube. The setup delivers lubricant using a UNIST injector
pump capable of cycling from 1 to 100 times per minute. This allows the system to deliver variable
amounts of fluid necessary without losing the ability to control the precise amount. The pumps are
actuated by a machine signal and lubricant flows only when the machine is making a bend, and
continues to flow throughout the entire bend. The compressed air and lubricant are combined inside
at the end of the mandrel lubricating tube and knuckles interface...................................................
The key to the system is delivering lube through the mandrel rod. Because of the control which
can be accomplished with this system, the right amount of fluid is delivered consistently where and
when it's needed. The UNIST system eliminates excess lubricant so very little remains on finished
parts. The lubricant residing inside the tubing is a very thin film and is normally inconsequential.
However, it can be easily removed with warm water and a detergent. The system can reduce
lubricant consumption in excess of 50 percent over manual applications. Additional benefits include
