SITUATION VACANT
1. Applications are invited for four positions of Teaching Assistant in the Institute of Business Management
Sciences on plain paper along with complete biodata, attested copies of certificate and testimonials to
assist the senior teachers in the Institute at the monthly remuneration given below: PhD Students @ Rs.
10,000/- per month and M.Phil Students @ Rs. 05,000/- per month. Eligibility:- PhD/M.Phil in the Institute
of Business Management Sciences students who have good academic credentials and are actively
engaged in the research activities relating to the discipline and have potential to assist the senior teachers.
Preference will be given to those PhD students who are not receiving any financial assistance from any
department/agency. Only one copy of the application on plain paper along with complete biodata attested
copies of certificates and testimonials is required. The University reserves the right not to fill any vacancy
without assigning any reason. Incomplete applications or those received after the due date will not be
entertained. The applications should reach in the Office of the Director, Institute Business Management
Sciences by 20-11-2014.
2. Applications are invited for one post of a MS/M.Phil Student @ Rs. 15,000/- per month available in the
HEC funded project entitled Etiology and Integrated Management of Declining Perennial Ornamental
Plants. Applicant should be student of M.Sc. (Hons) Plant Pathology having CGPA not less than 3.00 in
B.Sc. (Hons). The applications should reach in the office of the Dr. Imran ul Haq, Department of Plant
Pathology upto November 15, 2014 during office hours.
3. One post of Research Associate has been fallen vacant in HEC funded project entitled Phosphorus and
Potassium Adsorption and Desorption Behavior of some Rice Soils of Pakistan and the Correlation of
Adsorption-Desorption Properties with Fertilizer Recommendations for the Rice Crop. Qualification:- M.Sc.
(Hons) Soil Science with no 3rd Div. in the carrier at a consolidated pay of Rs. 10,000/- per month or B.Sc.
(Hons) Soil Science with no 3rd Div. in the carrier at a consolidated pay of Rs. 5,000/- per month.
Applicants having experience related to Soil and water Chemistry research and PhD students who are not
in receipt of any scholarship will be preferred. Already employed but on leave of any type will not be
considered for appointment. Employed candidates should en-route their applications through proper
channel. The last date for the receipt of applications in the Soil and Water Chemistry Lab. is November 22,
2014.
PhD THESIS/SYNOPSIS DEFENSE
1. Miss. Rizwana Qamar, Regd. No. 2006-ag-1528, PhD student of the Department of Plant Breeding and
Genetics will defend her PhD synopsis in the Postgraduate Laboratory of the Department on 19-11-2014 at
11:30 am as required under the rules. The title of her synopsis is Genetic variability of heavy metal
tolerance in sunflower hybrids using waste water. All the teachers and students concerned are requested
to attend and contribute towards the improvement of the synopsis.
2. Miss Shamsa Kanwal, Regd. No. 2006-ag-1732, PhD student of the Department of Plant Breeding and
Genetics, will defend her PhD synopsis in the Postgraduate Laboratory of the Department on 20-11-2014
at 01:30 pm as requred under the rules. The title of her synopsis is Combining abilities and inheritance
pattern of yield and salinity tolerance related traits in Brassica napus L.. All the teachers and students
concerned are requested to attend and contribute towards the improvement of the synopsis.
3. Mr. Shahbaz Khan, Regd. No. 2007-ag-2271 a PhD student, Department of Crop Physiology, has
successfully defended his PhD synopsis on 30-10-2014. The title of his synopsis is Efficacy of fresh and
stored moringa leaf extract as biostimulant in wheat.
4. Mr. Muhammad Adnan Nasir Regd. No. 2004-ag-1258 a PhD student of National Institute of Food Science
& Technology, UAF has successfully defended his PhD thesis on 10-11-2014. The title of his thesis was
Nutritional and Functional Perspectives Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa L.).
COMPAIGN AGAINST BREAST CANCER
Institute of Rural Home Economics is organizing a campaign against Breast Cancer on 18th November 2014 at
09:00 am to 03:00 pm. Programme: Walk at 09:30 am to 11:00 am. Lecture on Breast Cancer 11:00 am to
12:00 Noon. Donation Campaign 12:00 Noon to 03:00 pm.

the specified limit, failing which a penalty of 5% will be charged from the bills. The earnest money 2% of bid
value must accompany with the quotation otherwise the quotation will not be accepted.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
The Crop produce mentioned above can be seen at site.
The bidder will have to have deposit Rs. 300/- (Non
refundable) as bid fee into A/c No. 270-5/NBP. The
successful bidder will deposit 1/3 of the bid at the spot. If
the successful bidder fails to deposit one third of the bid
as successful bider, the bid money mentioned above will
be forfieted in favour of University. After approval of the
competent authority, the bidder will have the right to take
over the charge on payment of remaining amount within
seven days from the issuance of the letter from date of
approval, failing which the amount already depossited
forfieted in favour of UAF. Taxes (10%) will be charged
extra on the value of final bid as per Govt. Rules for
deposit in to Governments Treasury. The bidder will have to
produce original CNIC before the Committee. The University may
reject all bids any time prior to the acceptance of a bid. The
Univeristy shall upon request communicate to any bidder who
made a bid, the grounds for its rejection of all bids, but is not
required to justify those grounds. In case of any dispute between
the bidder and UAF, the decision of the Vice Chancellor as
arbitrator shall be final; and not be challenged in any court of law.
2. Sealed bids are invited from the registered firms of the UAF for
the purchase of different types of Plants at Proka-II farm under
Integrated Project, Endowment Fund Secretariat, UAF. Details
of plants can be seen in the office of the Executive Director, Endowment Fund Secretariat, UAF. Bids,
completed in all aspects, should reach in the office of Amir Saeed Rana Assistant Professor/Deputy
Director, within 5 days after the publication of this notice.
