You may have noticed that the old chain
link fence on Bennetts Lane corner has
gone. HKCC have now agreed a legal
license with Flintshire County Council to
erect new decorative fencing and a new
village notice board in this location. We
are just waiting for the paperwork to
return from FCC before we can erect the
new fence.

Ysgol Derwen Launch New Website..

www.derwenprimaryschool.com
Ysgol Derwen are proud to launch their new website which has been developed with support from two parents
Pam Clark and Carl Griffiths. It is part of the school commitment to improving communication with the parents
and the community as the old site was difficult to update and as a result often out of date.
The new website is easier to navigate and most importantly for the school easier to keep updated. Key features
include a Calender page detailing all the school activities and a comprehensive parents section. As the school year
progresses they hope to add more content and news stories.
In other school news .This year the school has welcomed two new members of staff, Miss Ellingham is the
new year 5 teacher while Mrs Payne is on maternity leave, and Mr Roberts had joined the team as PPA teacher
in Juniors covering each class one afternoon a week as well as helping out with the school Football team.
Miss Davies has recently undertaken her Level 3 Forest School training and Year 2 have been the first to enjoy
toasting marshmallows on the fire.
Kinnerton Walking Group

Local Hairdresser Opens New Shop

We were founded in April

2011 and have been
walking virtually every
week since. We meet at 1
pm in the Village Hall each
Thursday and walk about 4 miles around the village both on
lanes and across fields before returning to the Hall for tea
and cakes/biscuits. The varied guided walks are free but
there is a 1 charge for the refreshments purely to cover the
costs. On the first Thursday in the month we meet at 12.30
and venture outside the village using either cars or public
transport.
The walking group normally consists of between 15 and 20
people each week with no obligation to attend. If anyone is
unsure whether or not to attend then just turn up and you
will be made very welcome. (please note that on Thursday 4
December we will be having our Christmas Party at Curzon
Park Golf Club and so will not be walking that day).
It's a great way to get fit and meet people - Your New Year
Resolution. For further information please contact Brian on

Activities for Summer 2015 Let us know what

you think!!!!!...
For the summer of 2015 Kinnerton Community
Council are exploring options for arranging
activities for teenagers in addition to running the
Dragon Sports Play Scheme. HKCC would be very
interested to hear from anyone who has any
suggestions or thoughts so a wish-list can be
compiled as a starting point for consideration.
You can either send an email to
liz@higherkinnerton.org or contact Liz Corner on
