Gabrielle Cassidy
Hello everyone! With the change in the
weather Winter is most certainly here which
means lots of exciting events coming up at CLA.
First of all thank you to all the parents who
attended the general meeting and table top
sessions. I hope that helped explain the tuition
increases and we really appreciate all your ideas
and suggestions. Please don't forget your vote
is important. I am on vacation visiting my family
in Wales from the 3rd of December and will be
back on the 17th. If you have any questions
please refer to Miss Misti or Miss Shiri. I hope
everyone has a wonderful time at the Christmas
Pageant. The classes have been busy practicing
their songs and they sound fantastic. Don't
forget the auction baskets, there are some
fantastic items included and the class artwork is
lovely. Enjoy and I will see you all when I get
back.

Assistant Director
Mrs. Misti Leonard
Its beginning to look
and FEEL like Christmas.
What an exciting month
at school. The Christmas
pageant is on the Dec
13. I have seen and
heard some of the
children practicing and
talk about cute. Our
staff at CLA really does a
great job with the
pageant. I am looking
forward to seeing it. I
have also heard of some
of the fun holiday
activities that are being
planned
for
the
classrooms. With the
season of giving and joy,
its hard not to get
caught up in the
Christmas spirit around
the school. Thank you to
everyone who ordered
books from Scholastic
Books. I put the order in
and all books should be
here before Christmas
break. I wish everyone a
very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year.

Moms Day Out

By Mrs. Rachel Webb
Happy Holidays MDO families! This month we will be
learning all about different ways we can play pretend.
Your child's imagination is growing each day, and playing
pretend is such an important part of that growth.
Of course we will also focus on learning all about
Christmas and the different traditions from around the
world!

Transition I
By Mrs. Jenny Sixto
For December, Trans 1 will be starting the 'Let's Pretend'
High reach Curriculum. Imagination is one of the most
special tools of a young child. In this topic, children will
go on a guided tour of their minds by pretending to be
their favorite animals, book characters and other things.
We'll use our voices, bodies and ideas to go on many
adventures without ever have to leave the comfort of our
own minds. We'll also have a chance to practice our
emotions to learn to handle feelings and social
situations. We will be learning all about Christmas and
making fun Christmas crafts. The class will be singing two
songs in the Christmas Pageant on the 13th. We will be
holding a decorating afternoon for the class and will be
making Christmas trees with frosting and candy! Trans 1
will also be having Polar Express themed Christmas Party,
date to be announced. Merry Christmas everyone from
Ms. Lindsey and I.

Preschool I
By Mrs. Krystalynne Nelson
Happy Holidays from Preschool 1! We have had an
amazing few months. As always we are constantly
learning and excelling. This month our main focus is
textures around the world. We are working on addition
adding 1 up to 9 and for reading we are making more
words out of the letter sounds we learn. Happy Birthday
to Jael (6th), Sarah (17th) and Nate (22nd)!
Merry Christmas!

been glad to add several more over the past few weeks! This months unit of study is Textures and Fabrics! Well
be focusing on Z, D and C as well as assessing for both numbers and letters.
We will also be celebrating upcoming holidays in our classroom with several upcoming events! Santa is coming with
Milk and Cookies with Santa on December 10/11th and The Christmas Pageant is scheduled for December 13th. Our
holiday celebration is scheduled for December 17/18th and will be The Polar Express-themed! Look for more

Pre Kindergarten I Mrs. Shay Epstein

Hello everyone. We were so sorry to see Miss Liz
leave but wish her all the best for the future. We
had a great November learning lots of new things
and are looking forward to an exciting December!
We will be looking at letters S, A and I, learning the
sounds and how to write them. In Math we are
looking at patterns to link in with our Higher Reach
topic of texture and fabric. Its only a few weeks
until Christmas so we will be making lots of
Christmas art to decorate the classroom! Our song
for the Christmas Pageant is Rudolph The Red
Nosed Reindeer. Keep an eye on our notice board
too as we will be posting times and dates for
Cookies with Santa, the schedule for the Christmas
Pageant and our Christmas/Hanukkah Parties.

Pre Kindergarten II Mrs. Joanie Bass

This month our curriculum is Texture and
Fabric. The students will be doing some fun art and
science exploration projects that center around our
theme. This theme also provides an excellent
opportunity for the students to explore patterns in
math. We will continue to work our way through
letter name and sound recognition in preparation
for beginning reading after the new year. Finally,
we will be spending extra time with music this
month to prepare for the upcoming Christmas
Pageant! Please remember that we need our
Christmas basket donations as soon as
possible. Our theme in PreK II is Christmas decor. If
you have any questions or need suggestions, please
stop by and see me before or after school.
