THE PROPOSED PROJECT

The proposed project is a museum that uses the
latest technology of hologram projection and the virtual
reality illosions to create the lost civilizations around the
world through an imaginary three dimensional images. This
museum will let the visitors interact with the artifacts through
a computerized system which will give them information
about the shown artifact. And will also let people to discover many
different civilizations in one place, without the need for a huge
exhibition space that can include all the lost civilizations. This
technology does not have a huge cost for maintainance as it costs to
maintain an old statue. The concept behind this project is to allow visitors
to experience these lost ancient cities, with allowing them at the same time to
use their imagination. It will mostly be dark in the showrooms, and
transitions between the spaces will not be noticed a lot. The darkness of the rooms
will allow the visitors to think more, and give them the experience of going into
a time-machine that takes them back in time.

GROUND FLOOR PLAN

THE PROJEC T CONCEPT

The Holographic Museum of Lost Cities
Building is a new architectural landmark in
AbuDhabi. Using the concept of deconstructivism, the building was designed to
create the best exhibition spaces that
could host holographic displays. Beside
the main exhibition halls, other spaces
created with the best architectural
solutions possible, to allow the visitors,
students and employees to have the best
experience during their time in the
building. From the name of the project, the
two main terms, Hologram and lost cities,
can tell the whole story of the concept and
Idea. Because the museum is about lost
cities, the main concept of the project is
inspired by deconstructive architecture
theory, as well as the idea of light ray of the
hologram while traveling through mirrors.
Based on that, the main forms of the
building are designed. There are 4 main
irregular shapes with sharp turns, just like
the light of the hologram, that are linked
with each other in an irregular way. These
shapes are simple and do not continue
each other, but a continues circulation
path is created between them, creating a
journey that makes the visitors search for
these cities. This combination of deconstructivism, simplicity and irregularity,
creates an eye-catcher architectural and
artistic landmark in the area.
