TRAINNING REPORT

Respected sir,
I VIRENDER KUMAR ROY of LINGAYAS UNIVERSITY IS DOING
TRAINING IN NEWHOLLAND AGRICULTURE (CNH).

DEPARTMENT:-MANUFACTURING (PAINT SHOP)

ROLE:-WORKING ON PLANT LAYOUT,HANGERS & CHAIN SLING DESIGN , SPACE
OPTIMIZATION IN PAINT SHOP and learning about world class
manufacturing(WCM) and working on cost deployment (CD).

ROLL NO.:-11ME107
REPORT:
October 2014
Currently I am working on PLANT LAYOUT in AutoCAD & also
DESIGNING of Hanger & chain sling in catia.

I am also working on COST DEPLOYMENT (CD).

IN COST DEPLOYMENT I MAKE PRESENTATION AND MAKING A, B, C
& D MATRIX IN EXCEL.
A Matrix Identify wastes and losses.
B Matrix Separate causal losses and resultant losses.
C Matrix Translate identified losses into costs.
D Matrix Identify methods to recover wastes and losses.
E Matrix Estimate costs for improvement and the amount of possible cost
reduction.
F Matrix Establish improvement plan and its implementation; follow up of
results achieved.
G Matrix Base for the Budget year N+1.
MACHINE SHOP:-

The casted mould is machined in machine shop; all finishing operation is

done on CNC.
The chassis is divided in two parts i.e. ENGINE & CHASSIS POWER TRAIN
The Engine & power train meets is called BUCKLING.

PAINT SHOP
CED (Cathode Electro Deposition)
CED is most advanced and environment friendly water based coating to be done
on metal components. Temperature in CED varies from 170 to 185 degree Celsius.

CED is chemically resistant, mechanically durable, and pleasant in appearance

having very good salt spray life and is sought for by all automobile uses.
Colour- Semi-Glossy Black

CHASIS LINE
IN CHASIS LINE, it s painted black. There are 5 stages of this process
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

It undergoes water spray by nozzle.

It is dried by hot air.
After drying chemical is sprayed on it.
Then its painted black in colour.
It is baked at the temperature of 80-110 degree calicoes.

INVENTORY SPACE OPTIMIZATION

Making a layout of the inventory space and optimizing it. Working on this
space so that max no. of inventory can be stored there.

COST DEPLOYMENT
Why it is applied: So that the management can apply an effective
improvement plan addressing major causes of losses with

maximum effectiveness, applying the most correct methods with

the greatest impact.
Its Purpose :
1. Scientifically and systematically address the main items of loss of
the plant production-logistics system
2. Quantify potential expected economic benefits
3. Direct resources and managerial commitment toward activities
with the greatest potential.

Main activities:
Localization of losses (losses / processes matrix).
Identification of sources of losses (source of losses /
consequences matrix).
Valorisation of losses (source of losses / cost matrix).
Selection of methods for eliminating losses (losses/solutions
matrix).
Valorisation of expected benefits (costs /benefits matrix).

The seven steps of cost deployment :

Step-7

Step-6

Define and apply the improvement plan

Follow-up and restart from step-4

Estimate improvement costs and corresponding

reduction of losses and waste.

Step-5

Step-4

Step-3

Step-2

Step-1

Identify methods for recovery of losses and wastes.

Calculate the costs of losses and waste.

Separate root causes of losses from the resulting losses.

Identify losses and waste from the point of view of quality

Quantify losses and waste according to previous measurements.

Quantify total transformation costs

Assign cost reduction objectives.
Know total transformation costs by process.
