DEFINITIONS

UTC

Unit Trust Consultant (commonly used to address member of


the agency force).

UTC-AS

UTC Agency Supervisor.

UTC-CM

UTC Career Manager

UTC-AM

UTC Agency Manager.

UTC-SCM

UTC Senior Career Manager

UTC-GAM

UTC Group Agency Manager (must be full-time).

Upline

A senior UTC who recruits another UTC(s), from whom he will


derive/obtain overriding sales commission, or he who is being
assigned to supervise another UTC.

Downline

A UTC who is recruited by a senior UTC/his upline or who is


being assigned to be supervised by that senior UTC/upline.

Immediate Upline

The upline immediately above a UTC. Once the uplines (B)


immediate downline (C) equalises with that upline (B), that
uplines (B) immediate upline (A) shall now also be the said
downlines (C) upline.

Immediate Downline

The downline immediately below a UTC. Once the downline


(C) equalises with his immediate upline (B), that downline
(C) shall now also be the downline of immediate upline (A) of
his previous upline (B).

Recruiter

A UTC who recruits another UTC(s) for his group.

Equalised UTC

The downline who is being promoted to the same rank as the


upline.

New Account Holder

An individual or institution that starts an investment account.

Individual Sales

Sales to an individual.

Non-Individual Sales

Sales to companies (e.g. Sdn. Bhd., Bhd.), Cooperative,


Society, Sole Proprietor, Partnerships and Government
Bodies (e.g. EPF, SOCSO) and etc., apart from individual.

Low-Load Account

An account which has incurred a service charge of up to 1%.

Loaded Account

An account which has been charged service charge above


1% and up to 5.50%.

DEFINITIONS

Initial
Investment (II)

The initial investment made by a unit holder in an account.

Additional
Investment (AI)

Additional investment made by a unit holder in an existing


account.

Personal Sales (PS)

All sales of initial and additional investments of a UTC.

Group Sales (GS)

All sales produced by all the downlines of a UTC.

Total Sales (TS)

Personal Sales plus Group Sales.

Net Asset Value of


the Fund (NAV)

Determined by deducting the value of a funds liabilities from


the value of that funds assets, at a particular valuation point
determined by the Company.

Asset Value
(PSNAV)

Net Asset Value of the total investments of all unit holders


classified under Personal Sales of the UTC.

Group Sales Net


Asset Value
(GSNAV)

Net Asset Value of the total investments of all unit holders


classified under Group Sales of the UTC.

Personal Net Sales


(PNS)

Personal Sales after netting off unit holders redemption in


excess of a certain percentage of PSNAV.

Group Net Sales


(GNS)

Group Sales after netting off unit holders redemption in


excess of a certain percentage of GSNAV.

Direct
Commission
On Sales

Commission generated based on sales amount which


consists of Personal Commission (PC), Personal Overriding
Commission (POR) and Group Overriding Commission
(GOR).

Personal
Commission (PC)

Commission generated from Personal Sales of a UTC.

Personal
Overriding
Commission (POR)

Additional commission generated from Personal Sales given


to a UTC-AS, UTC-AM/UTC-CM & UTC-GAM/ UTC-SCM.

Group
Overriding
Commission (GOR)

Commission generated from Group Sales given to a UTC-AS,


UTC-AM/UTC-CM & UTC-GAM/UTC-SCM based on
overriding concept.

DEFINITIONS

Indirect Commission
On Sales & NAV

Incentives payable to UTC apart from Direct Commission as


an additional reward in selling unit trust. It consists of Year
End Bonus (YEB), Breakaway Bonus (BB), Appreciation
Bonus (AB), Equalisation Bonus (EB), Annual Performance
Bonus (APB) and Career Benefit (CB).

Year End
(YEB)

Bonus

Annual incentive payable to UTC who has achieved the


required Personal Net Sales and/or Group Net Sales quota.

Breakaway
(BB)

Bonus

Incentive payable to the recruiter at UTC-GAM/UTC-SCM


rank in recognition of the recruiters effort and achievement in
guiding and grooming another UTC who is his downline, until
the downlines promotion to UTC-GAM/UTC-SCM rank.

Appreciation Bonus
(AB)

Incentive payable to UTC-GAM/UTC-SCM who is the


immediate upline of the newly promoted UTC-GAM/UTC-SCM
in the event the recruitee is promoted ahead of his recruiter.

Equalisation Bonus
(EB)

Incentive payable to upline when the downline equalises with


the recruiter/immediate upline.

Annual Performance
Bonus (APB)

Reward given to the top performing UTC-GAMs.

Career Benefit
(CB)

Incentive payable to UTC who holds a valid agency contract


with Public Mutual.

Other Commission

Commission payable based on sales of non-unit trust


products.

Housing Loan
Subsidy Scheme
(HLS)

Benefit payable to qualified UTC-AS and above who obtained


financing from Public Bank Berhad for the purchase of
property.

Car Loan Subsidy


Scheme
(CLS)

Benefit payable to qualified UTC-AS and above who obtained


financing from Public Bank Berhad for the purchase of car.

Computer Loan
Interest Subsidy
(CompLIS)

Benefit payable to qualified UTC-AM/UTC-CM & UTCGAM/UTC-SCM who obtained financing from bank for the
purchase of computer.

UTCs Personal Plan

Benefit provided to UTC to invest in Public Series of funds at


NAV.

Benefits for
Deceased UTCs
Beneficiary

Benefit given to beneficiary of deceased UTC for a specific


period.

Free Insurance Term Life (TL) and
Personal Accident
(PA)

DEFINITIONS
Insurance coverage provided to UTC who had achieved the
sales quota set for both Personal Sales and Group Sales.

Words importing the singular shall include the plural and vice versa.
Words importing the masculine gender shall include the feminine and neuter gender
and vice versa.
The Management reserves the right to change, amend or modify the above scheme at
any time it deems appropriate.
The Management may from time to time exclude certain types of sales or sales of
certain funds from entitlement of all or certain Indirect Commission earned under the
scheme.
