180-220 words:
In the past, people that were able to achieve success at the faculty did not have problems to find a
job according to their skills. Nevertheless, the current situation is totally different. For this reason,
it was organized, in the Vancouver Hall, the Carrers Conferences.
For three days (Friday-Saturday), from 9am-6am, those conferences were held in order to inform
and to give advise to whoever was interested. The main event of the weekend was the exhibition
where the attendants had the chance to inform about over 100 job positions. Another good point of
the two days conferences was the talks about an extended type of carrerrs. Futhermore, in those
talks, there were several experts who were available to respond and to clarify any hesitation.
However, some people complained concerning the shortage of experts to respond people's questions
and doubts. Eventually, it is noteworthy to mention that all the conferences were more focused on
Natural and Exact Science students than Social Science and Art students.
I do not want to end up this text without giving some tips for the next year. Firstly, it must be an
equilibrium between the fields of studies. Secondly, more experts must be guaranteed in order to
answer all people's questions and doubts.
To sum up, the conferences were, with its flaws, a great achievement.

Answer one of the following two questions based on one of the titles below.
A) As a part of your course, your teacher has asked you for suggestions for a story to study in class.
You decide to write about Lucky Jim. In your report, briefly outline the plot an say why you think
Lucky Jim would be interesting for other students. (220-260 words)
Lucky Jim, like his moniker points out, is a lucky guy. Actually, he is not just lucky, he is kind of
jammy. If you play with him to tenis, basketball or football, you can count for sure that he will beat
you somehow. But his fortune does not stop in the field of games, but it continues in the field of
studies. Jim is not only the best student of his course, but also the best student of the high school.
He achieves always the cum laude mark without doing great efforts or study many hours.
Jim is a gifted student and sport player. He is the first of his class and also the captain of the soccer,
basketball and tenis team. Until this point of the story, you might think Jim is the luckiest guy on
the surface of the earth. If you think like that, you are totally wrong. He feels miserable. Perhaps
you are wondering why. After all, if he is so good at the studies and sports, why does he feel
unhappy? The reason is simple. Jim is an emigrant, an outsider. He had to emigrate with their
parents from their homeland because they were not able to have a decent living standars in their
homeland.
I reckon that is worthy to read and to analyze the Jim's story because it tells you a reality that so
many people are facing nowadays: the emigration phenomenom and its consequences for those who
live it.
