T

he Ibanez Xiphos was launched in 2007. Since

then, it has evolved to satisfy the guitarists
seeking an instrument with both a radical
appearance, and a sound that matches the look. The
Xiphos offers three models, the XPT700, XPT700X H,
and XP300FX, each w ith different specs to choose
from. XPT700 and XPT700X H apply neck-through-

body construction, which enhances playing comfort at

higher frets and increases sustain. XPT700X H also has
an extended 27 fret neck, taking the shredding abilities
to the max. XP300FX features the XPTs DNA, yet at
an affordable price. The fixed bridge helps transmit
string vibration to the body directly and the reversed
headstock makes the guitar more distinctive.

CAP-LZ10/20 are newly developed active pickups.

They deliver high-power sound that cuts through, while
minimizing noise even at high gain settings. The CAP-LZ
pickups cover a very wide range, and offer a strong rich
middle tone for fast and heavy rhythm and lead playing.

String-Thru setup on the XG300, with its solid

mahogany body, provides heavy tone, tighter string
tension and maximum sustain.

The DiMarzio D Activator pickups mounted on

XPT700 have an enriched harmonic quality allowing
notes to sing out. The D Activator pickups were
designed to eliminate the sterile edginess commonly
associated with active pickups.

The Original Edge tremolo has been admired by Ibanez

players, and the Edge III embodies all of the classic
function of the original Edge with some modern updates.
It features lower profile fine-tuners, much like the LoPro Edge. There are also two screws in the arm pocket
for easy adjustment of the arm height and torque.

Neck-thru construction on the XPT700 provides massive

sustain and playing comfort. A smooth heel at the neck
joint position allows for comfortable playing at higher
fret positions.

The wicked XPT700XH features a shred-friendly 27 fret

neck, with warm sounding DiMarzio Air Norton S
pickup on the neck position.
