FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Former Richland Township Supervisor Announces Election Bid

Richland Township, Pa. Former Richland Township Supervisor Brian OMalley announces his intention to seek the Republican and
Democratic nominations in the May Primary for the magisterial district judge position that serves Hampton, Richland, and West Deer
Townships. Judge Suzanne Blaschak, who has served the West Deer community honorably since 1984, will not seek re-election to the
re-districted magistrate seat that combined parts of the district formerly held by the Honorable Regis Welsh.
OMalley served on the Richland Township Board of Supervisors from 2006-2009, where he was appointed as the voting member on
the North Hills Councils of Government and an alternate to the Northern Regional Police Board.
OMalley has always been dedicated to public safety in Richland Township and would like to expand his service to the residents of
Hampton and West Deer Townships. In demonstration of this commitment, Brian voted to increase the amount of police officers that
served Richland Township by more than 180%.
Our magisterial district judges should be working with local municipalities and police chiefs to properly schedule hearings. I plan to
expedite the courtroom process for our local police officers so that they can spend more time in the community and less time sitting in
the waiting room of a courtroom. It is a better use of our officers time and can help lower the cost of overtime on taxpayers wallets,
stated OMalley
It has been one of the great honors of my life to serve the people of Richland Township as a Supervisor and currently as a board
member at the Richland Township Municipal Authority, OMalley said. I am extremely of my ability to provide needed police
services without a tax increase and hope to apply this thoughtful approach to the district judges office.
Brian is a lifelong resident of the North Hills and 26 year resident of Richland Township. He currently lives in the Orchard Park
neighborhood with his wife, Gina, and their one year-old daughter, Lucia.
The son of George and Debbie OMalley of Richland Township, OMalley attended Pine-Richland High School where he was an
active member of student council, multi-sport athlete, and co-captain of the 1999 Greater Allegheny Conference Champion football
team. He attended Allegheny College and earned a B.A. in Political Science. While attending Allegheny College OMalley was vicepresident of his class and a starting running back on the football team.
After earning his degree, OMalley was hired by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Legislative Assistant and continues
his work with the Pennsylvania State House today. In his position, he helps to solve problems for constituents on a daily basis and
assists Pennsylvania residents with cutting the red tape of state and local government. He helped pen legislation to assist churches,
volunteer fire departments, and other non-profits raise more money through bingo games Brian continues to serve his community as a
board member on the Richland Township Municipal Authority.
