Positions Vacant
Sidwell Friends, a co-educational Quaker day school located
in Washington, DC, seeks an experienced and dynamic educator to serve as Upper School Principal. The Principal is the chief
administrative officer of the high school (505 students, grades
912). He/she supervises a staff that includes the Dean of
Students, Academic Dean, Director of College Counseling and
all Department Heads. The Principal works closely with a variety of student and parent groups and typically teaches one
class. He/she is a member of the senior administration, reporting directly to the Head of School. The Principal serves on the
Administrative Council, sits with the Board of Trustees and is
a key advisor to the Head of School.
A masters degree or doctorate is preferred, in addition to
7-10 years of both administrative and teaching experience in
secondary or higher education. Familiarity with the tenets and
practices of the Religious Society of Friends is highly desirable.
The position is available July 1, 2015. Salary and benefits are
