ADDITIONAL AND SPECIFIC GUIDELINES, RULES AND REGULATIONS


1. Age Eligibility
Not less than 18 years old by Aug. 8, 2014 and not more than 30 years old on Nov. 20, 2014, dates inclusive.

2. Application Requirements
2.1. Aside from the requirements in the Application Packet listed under the General Rules, five (5) copies of the
Submitted Repertoire List, containing the titles of the choice pieces for each level shall be submitted on letter-size
paper using the following format:

2.2. Three (3) clear copies of the pieces (except Etude No. 4 by S. Dodgson) to be performed at the
Regional (1 piece) and Regional Center (2 pieces) rounds should be submitted with the name of the
contestant and the corresponding level of competition written on each title page.
2.3. Five (5) clear copies of the 3 pieces to be performed at the Finals level with the name of the contestant
and the corresponding level of competition written on each title page.

3.3.3. Free choice: Music composed from 1950 to present. Duration: 6-10 minutes.

4. Performance
4.1. All pieces should be memorized and performed without scores.
4.2. The repertoire may not be changed, altered, or otherwise modified after the Application Packet
has been received by the NAMCYA Secretariat.
4.3. Any specific inquiries on the rules which will require a written reply should be emailed and addressed
to the Chairman of the Guitar Competition through the NAMCYA Secretariat.
4.4. The contestant shall bring his/her own instrument and accessories, as needed.
4.5. Attire for all levels of the competition should be decent and appropriate for a public performance.

[_] Three (3) clear copies of the choice pieces to be played at the Regional (Video) & Regional Center levels.
