2014 Highlights

One of 150 Community Treatment Programs in the Clinical Trials

Network of the National Institute of Drug Abuse.
DAYMARK performed 170 trainings in evidenced and literature based
care for both internal and external professionals.
Implementation of electronic assessments based on DSM 5 Standards.
Integration of Statewide Hospital Admissions/Discharge records into
our own Electronic Health Record workflows for clinical decision
support, the only Healthcare provider in North Carolina to do so
regardless of specialty, including primary care, and one of a handful of
Healthcare providers in the United States to do so. This integration
allows our providers to not only discuss the conditions that resulted in
emergency room or acute care inpatient visits, but also allows our
providers to discuss possible alternatives to routine emergency room
use with our patients with the goal of lowering overall healthcare
expenditures within the Medicaid Program.
Implementation of medical workflows to meet Federal Meaningful Use
requirements. Our ongoing initiatives with meaningful use has made us
the largest behavioral health recipient of Meaningful Use Funding in
North Carolina and one of the largest in the nation. More importantly,
it has resulted in our establishing standard data models for medical
information that allow structured communications of patient records
across provider specialties, one of the more significant objectives of
Meaningful Use.
Work with the CCNC to incorporate co-occurring medical conditions
reported across specialties into our Electronic Health Record. This
allows our medical team to be aware of other potential illnesses like
hypertension, diabetes, vascular disease, cancer, just to name a few.
Maintained CARF Accreditation with the maximum three-year renewal.
Began work on full participation in North Carolina Health Information
Exchange, the only North Carolina Behavioral Health Agency to initiate
this effort.
