Chapter One: Preface


1. Company Introduction
As one of the leading worldwide providers of process calibration tools, the
Additel Corporation has been dedicated to the design and manufacture of highquality handheld test tools and portable calibrators for process industries and
OEM industries in precision pressure calibration and test instrumentation.
Throughout the years, Additel has successfully developed Handheld Automated
Pressure Calibrators, Precision Pressure Calibrators, Documenting Process
Calibrators, Multifunction Process Calibrators, Multifunction Temperature
Calibrators, Precision Digital Pressure Gauges and various Test Pumps and
Hand Pumps. These products are widely used in over 30 countries throughout
the world.

2. Features of Additel/Log II
Additel/Log II is an application software specializing in real time monitoring and
data collection towards pressure gauges, an absolute necessity of pressure
calibration.
Main Functions:
Graphical interface display and data collection
Additel/Log II will collect data (pressure values) and display through clear
graphic control, when the serial port communication is normal.
Data collection and long-lasting saves
Additel/Log II will collect data in real time and save it to the database for
further analysis.
Supports data export
Additel/Log II can export collected data in EXCEL according to the name of
the equipment and collection time.

3. System Requirements

Hardware Requirements
CPU: Inter Pentium III above
Memory: 512MB above
Hard Disk: 2GB above
Hardware should support serial port

Software Requirements
Operation System:
Windows 2000 SP4/Windows XP SP2/Windows 2003/Windows
Vista/Windows7

4. Software Installation
First, double click Setup.exe in the installation disk menu, as follows:

If the system has not installed microsoft .net Framework 2.0, installation will be
prompted, as follows:

Second, a welcome interface will appear, as follows.Press Next.

Third, choose a folder to install, as follows.Press Next.

Fourth, a confirmation message window will appear as follows. Press Next to


begin the installation

After the installation complete.Click Close to finish the process installation.

Chapter Two: Functions


Click the Additel Log II shortcut, then the main interface will be shown,as follow

If the connection fails, the information boxes will be blank.


The port connection must be successful in order to view the calibrator values
in the information boxes.

1.Port Setting
Click Port Setting on the main interface to enter the tool box as follow:

The communication configuration of serial port,as follows:

Users can edit serial PortName, BaudRate and Address according to


different calibrators situation. Pressing scan can check the communication
between computer and calibrator is normal or not.

2.Collect Setting
Click the Collect Setting in the main interface to enter the tool box as follow:

Users can set the total time and interval to collect data.
If the total time is set to zero, then the device will not auto-stop after clicking
the start in the main interface.
The system default setting total time is 1 hour; default collection interval is 5
seconds.
After the setting, click OK to finish the collect setting.

3.Start or Stop
After the data of the Port setting and Collect setting is confirmed, click start
in the main interface collection task.

If you are not satisfied with the collected data, click Clear to delete the
previously collected data and the system will automatically begin a new
collection task.
Additel/Log II will collect data in real time and save it to the database for
further analysis.
Once the Total Time is completed, the collection task will end automatically.

Click "Stop" to stop the collection task.

4.Data Export
When the collection task is completed, the collected data can be exported to the
PC. Click Export in the Main Interface and the Data Management window will
open. Now you can chose among three formats: Excel, XML and CSV. Then
click Finish.

Data Search
The system provides the function of database search according to the search
conditions set by the user and displays the results in the data list as shown in
figure 2-6.

Export Format
Additel/Log II provides three data derivation formats:
XML Spreadsheet Format
This is an XML document format which can save format spreadsheet data
quickly without the support of other groupware. It can be read by EXCEL.
EXCEL Book Format
This is an EXCEL standard format XLS document which can save format
spreadsheet data at low speeds with the support of MDAC groupware.It can
be read by EXCEL.
CSV Format
CSV document is a text document. It can be derive very fast and take only a
little space and doesnt need other groupware support. This document can
be read by EXCEL or any other document reader. When the derivation data
exceeds 65000 rows, more derivations can be generated.

5.Database Manager

Users can backup all collection-data to a file.


Users can recover collection-data from a backup file.
Users can clear collection-data with collect-time.
