Discover IPSF and RPSA


Rwanda Pharmaceutical Students Association is a youth led
organization, which champions efforts to help young people,
and communities make informed and responsible decisions on
their health as well as social and economic standards of living.
It regroups Pharmacy students in the School of Medicine and
Pharmacy, College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the
University of Rwanda including National and International
students.
RPSAs main mission is to educate and inform the youth on
global issues, to inspire them to develop pharmacy education,
to encourage their participation in global issues, to identify
needs of our community through pharmaceutical research
and build sustainable profession development in Rwanda
aimed at youth development and provide young people with
tools and resources for effective action.

RPSA is linked to other Pharmaceutical Students' Associa


tions worldwide through the International Pharmaceutical
Students' Federation (IPSF) www.ipsf.org and it is among the
nine African full members which are South Africa, Tanzania,
Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe,
Namibia.
IPSF is the leading international advocacy organization for
pharmacy students. Since establishment in 1949, IPSF now
represents more than 350,000 pharmacy students and recent
graduates in 84 countries worldwide. IPSF has its headquar
ters in The Hague, Netherlands.
The mission of the Federation is to improve public health by
Advancing pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical science;
responding to global challenges in health, health education
and workforce strategies; serving as the global, collective voice
of students and recent graduates in pharmacy and Pharma
ceutical sciences.

What is AfPS?
Africa Pharmaceutical Symposium also abbreviated as AfPS is
an event of AfRO or Africa Regional Office, one of the 5 regions
of IPSF, held annually for pharmacy students recent graduates
and pharmacy professionals especially in the African region. The
program includes a symposium on topics of pharmaceutical in
terest and of scientific and educational nature, meetings and
workshops, a pre-AfPS training program and many social and
cultural events.

Rwanda ,a country of thousand hills ,will host this event on its


fourth time from 9th to 14th of July2015 and more than 300 dele
gates from over 10 African countries will travel to Rwanda .
Theme of the symposium is:

Enhancing Rational Use of Medicine in Africa


through integration of Research in Pharmacy Prac
tice.

Visa Information
Nationals of Australia, Germany, Israel, New Zealand, Republic of South Africa, Sweden, United Kingdom
and United States of America shall get entry visa and pay fee upon arrival at any Rwanda entry point without
prior application. The entry visa fee is 30USD, valid for a period of up to 30 days.EAC Partner states citizens
are issued with 6 months visitors renewable pass at entry points with no fee.
DRC citizens get visitors visa for a stay not exceeding 90 days with no fee as provided by the CEPGL
agreement.
Nationals of Singapore, Hong Kong, Mauritius and Philippines are exempted from entry/tourism visa for a
stay of up to 90 days. Nationals of African countries shall continue getting entry visa at Rwanda entry points.

Visa fee $30


Nationals of countries not mentioned above shall get visa upon application before travelling and pay
