--THE AMENDMENTS
Urge your MP to support amendments below and let them know we will watching how
they vote on Monday and that will influence how WE vote in May.
1) Support the removal of fracking-related clauses from the Bill
2) Support clauses calling for a moratorium and a ban
Two Sussex MPs - Caroline Lucas (Green) and Norman Baker (Lib Dem) - have tabled
amendments which propose to:
- remove Clause 37 - to ensure that it does not become a legally binding obligation for
the UK to extract as much UK oil & gas as financially possible.

Saturday26th January

- remove Clauses 39-44 - to ensure that the trespass laws are not changed to allow
drilling & dumping of "any substance" under our land without our consent.
More recent (cross-party) amendments tabled on January 20 & 21 propose to:
- introduce a new clause (NC9) calling for a moratorium (likely to gain the most
traction)
Plus an addition to Clause 37 also calling for a moratorium. Read the amendments here.
- insert an addition to Clause 39 of sections 5A to 5C - to prohibit fracking (if the clause
is not removed altogether). Read the amendment here.

Read about all of these amendments in detail on the Drill or Drop website.
