Title of the project

Order Processing System For General Overseas Corporation

Objectives of the project

Project Objectives : Overall objective of the project was to develop an order

processing system for the client (i.e. General Overseas Corporation). The
Developed system would enable the client, to interact with their customers and
industrial partners in more effective way.

Problem Statement

Business Problems to Solve: Following are the some business problems that
need to solved 1. Difficulty in maintaining paper records. 2. Time consuming
method of generating quotation for requests. 3. Time consuming method of
generating delivery notes. 4. It is difficult to retrieve data related to orders
processed in past hence makes order Archiving difficult. 5. High Risk of errors
when storing and handling information manually. 6. Difficulty in passing the
invoice information to Mechanical Engineering Finance Department for
inputting order information into SAP Systems for raising invoices.

7. High risk

of loosing valuable information if no data backup is taken on regular interval of

time.
Methodology to be used

Project Methodology: The project has been developed using Rational Unified
Process (RUP) methodology, due its iterative and incremental nature, it helps in
identifying the significance of changing requirements and identification of risks
by breaking down project into modules and focusing on the riskier elements
first. Iterations in such system are performed until the design of the system is
acceptable by the client.
