I can tell you who I am, report my emotions to you with candor and honesty, and this is the
greatest kindness I can extend to myself and to you. Even if my thoughts and emotions
are not pleasing to you, it remains the greatest kindness to reveal myself openly and
honestly. Insofar as I am able, I will try to be honest with myself and communicate myself
honestly to you.

It is another thing to set myself up as judge of your delusions. This is playing God. I must
not try to be guarantor of your integrity and honesty: that is your work. I can only hope
that my honesty with and about myself will empower you to be honest with and about
myself. If I can face and tell you my faults and vanities, my hostilities and fears, my secrets
and my shames, hostilities and fears, my secret and my shames, perhaps you will be able
to admit to your own and confide them to me, if and when you wish.

It is a two way street. If you will be honest with me, report your triumphs and tragedies,
agonies and ecstasies to me, it will help me to face my own. You will help me to become a
real person. I need your openess and honesty; you need mine. Will you help me? I promise
that I will try to help you. I will try to tell you who I really am.

True love is about acceptance, understanding, loving kindness, unconditional

love.

"We must use things and love people, not love things and use people"
Whereas I see someone with true spirit as someone who is independant of the
good opinion of others, judges no-one, has respect for self and others, sees
himself as neither above nor below anybody, is humble, sees divine in all, has
inner peace, feels a bond of love with everyone, and does not need to prove
anything to anyone
The ego says -
What's In it for Me? or You do it!
Spiritual Attitude:
How can I help you? or Let's do it!

• feel beneath no-one - we are all part of one big human family - equal,
same spirit in different disguises - see divine in all

• enjoy a bond with people, a bond of Love, true understanding, equality,

respect, presence.

• lose fears - understand why you have fear of losing control / approval /
power

• meditate - experience silence, notice the gaps in between thoughts. Be

one with the silent witness

• be independant of the good opinion of others

• practise non - judgement regularly - 'Today I shall judge nothing'

• commune with nature - see the beauty, feel the knowledge and creativity
flowing

• be aware of your archetypes, rays, control dramas, star signs

The more people talk about themselves, the more they have experienced pain in
their lives.
To understand people, I must try to hear what they are not saying, what they
perhaps will never be able to say
"It costs so much to be a full human being that there are very few who
have the enlightenment, or the courage to pay the price....One has to
abandon altogether the search for security, and reach out to the risk of
living with both arms. One has to embrace the world as a lover. One has
to accept pain as a condition of existence. One has to count doubt and
darkness as the cost of knowing. One needs a will stubborn in conflict, but
apt always to total acceptance of every consequence of living & dying."

If you are a seeker of truth, the ego identifies with your quest and can become serious and
secretly superior.
'It is the truth that frees, not your efforts for freedom'
The truth cannot be said, but you can be lead to the point from where you can
see it
'In perception of the false is truth'

'As long as you have concepts, you'll never see what is true'

If fifty million people say a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing

Do not believe anything because it is said by an authority, or if it is said to come

from angels, or from Gods, or from an inspired source. Believe it only if you have
explored it in your own heart and mind and body and found it to be true. Work out
your own path, through diligence.

Telling the truth to people who misunderstand you is generally promoting a falsehood,
isn't it?
When all is understood, words are forgotten."
As a bee seeks nectar
from all kinds of flowers,
seek teachings everywhere,
a quiet place to graze, seek seclusion to digest
all you have gathered.
Like a madman,
beyond all limits,
go wherever you please;
a live like a lion, completely free of all fear.

When you are in doubt, be still, and wait. When doubt no longer
exists for you, then go forward with courage. So long as mists
envelop you, be still. Be still until the sunlight pours through and
dispels the mists -- as it surely will. Then act with courage.

When we are in a negative frame of mind, it is only natural to doubt rather than to
believe.
"At the very outset we have to understand that we cannot create truth, we cannot
organize truth. Truth is, was and will be. We cannot cheat truth. We have to
reach that point to receive it. It is not a mental achievement. It is not a concept,
we cannot change it. Where the seekers of truth are misled, the results have
been disastrous."
"We must walk consciously only part way toward our goal and then leap in the
dark to our success."

"If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything. "
The superior man loves his soul, The inferior man loves his his property.
Really feel the things you touch, the sounds you hear, and really experience the
tastes, smells and sights. Be here and now each moment Forgive quickly.
empties the body of held tension, allow the mind and heart to release the past,
thereby flowing easily into the future
"We are not unified; we often feel that we are, because we do not have many
bodies and many limbs, and because one hand doesn't usually hit the other. But,
metaphorically, that is exactly what does happen within us. Several sub
personalities are continually scuffling: impulses, desires, principles, aspirations
are engaged in an unceasing struggle."
A MULTITUDE OF LIVES
EXERCISE : SELF IDENTIFICATION
1 - Become aware of your BODY. For some time, just notice in a neutral way -
and without trying to change them - all the physical sensations you can be
conscious of. Be aware, for example, of the contact of your body with the chair
you are sitting on, of your feet with the ground, of your clothes with your skin.
Be aware of your breathing. When you feel you have explored your physical
sensations long enough, leave them and go on to the next step.
2 - Become aware of your FEELINGS
What feeling are you experiencing right now?
And which are the principal feelings you experience recurrently in your life?
Consider the apparently positive and negative ones: love and irritation, jealousy
and tenderness, depression and elation...
Do not JUDGE. Just view your usual feelings with the objective attitude of a
scientific investigator taking an inventory. When you are satisfied, shift your
attention from this area and proceed to the next step.
3 - Turn your attention to your DESIRES.
Adopting the same impartial attitude as before, review the main desires which
take turns in motivating your life. Often you may well be identified with one or the
other of these but now you simply consider them, side by side. Finally, leave your
desires and continue with the next step.
4 - Observe the world of your THOUGHTS.
As soon as a thought emerges, watch it until another one takes its place, then
another one, and so on. If you think you are not having any thoughts, realize that
this too is a thought. Watch your stream of consciousness as it flows by:
memories, opinions, nonsense, arguments, images. Do this for a couple of
minutes, then dismiss this realm as well from your observation.
5 - THE OBSERVER
The one who has been watching your sensations, feelings, desires, and thoughts
- is not the same as the object it observes. WHO IS IT THAT HAS BEEN
OBSERVING ALL THESE REALMS? It is your CENTER OF PURE BEING. The
Center of Being is not an image or a thought; it is that ESSENCE which has been
observing all these realms and yet is distinct from all of them. And you are that
CENTER OF PURE BEING. Say inwardly:
experience, knowledge and emotions,
A mind that is free and empty will always have choice, but if the mind is
limited there will be no choice.
I learned to use them for myself, not against myself. It is this experience,
knowledge and feelings combined together to be nothing, total emptiness.

That is there are six root delusions

Anger - highly disturbed aspect of mind that arises when we see something
unpleasant - enemies, and so forth
Attachment - attachment to ego / self / others / things causes suffering
Pride - is your inflated opinion of yourslef and can manifest in relation to some
good or bad object: your power, wealth, good qualities, family, wisdom, pure
ethics - even your pleasant voice or physical prowess
Ignorance - not knowing, not seeing, not understanding, being unclear, and so
forth. Ignorance is like blindness - not seeing the nature or mode of existence of
something. Ignorance is the root of all delusions.
Doubt - directed towards the four truths, the Three Jewels, cause and effect

To train the mind is first to see directly and concretely how the mind
functions

We are so addicted to looking outside ourselves that we have lost access to our
inner being almost completely. We are terrified to look inward, because our
culture has given us no idea of what we will find. We may even think that if we
do, we will be in danger of madness. This is one of the last and most resourceful
ploys of ego to prevent us from discovering our real nature.

need to be loved (infancy) toward full readiness to give love (maturity),

to know oneself, surely, is to study the responses, the reactions that one has in relation to
something. One cannot know oneself through isolation.
