Gather to Protect your Second Amendment Rights

With Emily Miller, and other Guest Speakers!
Join Maryland Shall Issue, fellow Marylanders, and our Supporting Organizations on
Lawyer's Mall in Annapolis, as we begin the process of restoring Maryland to "The Free
State." Help us continue the momentum of 2013 and 2014, gathering in numbers to
defend our Second Amendment rights and exercise our First Amendment rights. The
more citizens who make their voices heard, the greater the positive effect in Annapolis
and across the country.
The 2015 General Assembly session began for Legislators on January 14, with the
swearing in of 59 new members of the House of Delegates and 11 new Senators. The
overwhelming majority of these legislators are brand-new, that is they have never served
in Annapolis and have never met the Maryland Second Amendment community - it's time
to introduce yourself!
Several pieces of legislation have already been introduced which will, if passed, affect
your Second Amendment rights, and there are likely more to come. Some of these bills are
pro-Second Amendment, some are anti-Second Amendment. Your Second Amendment
advocacy organizations have analyzed each piece of legislation as it has come out, and will
continue to monitor and provide the community with the latest analysis and information
throughout the session. A list of current legislation will be provided to attendees of 2A
Tuesday at the event. Your input will have a significant impact on the success or failure of
this legislation, regardless of party or position.
More information and updates will be announced as they become available, through your
Second Amendment advocacy organizations.
Don't forget to use social media to help spread the word!
#2ATuesday

Event Guidelines
General: The event will be centered at Lawyers Mall near the Maryland State House and
the General Assembly office buildings. The official rally time is 10:00AM 12:00PM. You
are encouraged to seek out and engage your Delegates and Senators throughout the day,
and fully participate as a citizen of Maryland.
Lobbying: We will have team leaders available to aid and guide you in meeting and
conversing with your district's representatives. You are also welcome and encouraged to
meet with your legislators on your own. If you are able to do so, please make an
appointment to meet with your representatives. Once you have made your appointment
time, or if you need assistance in making an appointment, let us know by sending an
email to Events@MarylandShallIssue.org
Transportation: You are encouraged to share a ride, to enable the parking areas to
accommodate the numbers of vehicles we are hoping to see. Large groups should
consider hiring buses/coaches of an appropriate size.
Goals: This is NOT a protest. This is a gathering of civic-minded second amendment
supporters, petitioning their government to uphold constitutional principles. We will
take this opportunity to show, through both numbers and words, the impact the 2A
community intends to have in the upcoming general assembly session, and the upcoming
elections. You should also plan time before or after the rally to visit and speak with your
own representatives concerning these issues.
Behavior: This is an opportunity for us, as a community, to dispel the media myths of
firearms owners. It has become clear that we need to avoid presenting the images the
media so desperately wants to portray. Therefore, we request that there NOT be any
firearms, replicas, or facsimiles of firearms present. Maryland law expressly prohibits
any firearms at anything that could be deemed a protest or demonstration. Dress
should be professional and should avoid hostile messages. Signs should remain
respectful as well.
Miscellaneous: Our groups have developed a good working relationship with the
Department of General Services (the good people who maintain/prepare the areas, as
well as provide security). It is therefore requested that we show them the respect they
are due, thank them for their work, and to clean up after ourselves. Everyone should
bring a couple of bags along to police the area throughout the day. Smokers should field
strip their butts, and dispose of them properly.
It's not too late to volunteer! To sign up email: Events@MarylandShallIssue.org
