While he supports the use of force against ISIL,

Sen. Robert Menendez doesnt want to give Obama or any future
president an open-ended check.

LIMITING OBAMAS
WAR POWERS
The last thing we want to do is

Make no mistake: This is a

have an open-ended conflict

difficult mission, and it will

without limitations. Thats the

remain difficult for some time. Its

challenge ... to give the president

going to take time to dislodge

the authority and the support to

these terrorists, especially from

defeat ISIL but not to give him

urban areas. But our coalition is

and the next president an

on the offensive. ISIL is on the

open-ended ability to conduct a

defensive, and ISIL is going to

very prolonged war with combat

troops on the ground.
SEN. ROBERT MENENDEZ

lose. ... Our cause is just, and our

mission will succeed.

Brace for a full week of below-normal temperatures, the kind that dumped a half-foot of snow in portions of Monmouth County and may have contributed
to the death of a Lakewood woman this weekend.
Temperatures will be about 20 degrees below normal through much of the week, with highs reaching the
teens or 20s each day and low temperatures below zero
or in the single digits, according to the National Weather Service.
Its going to create an impact for folks, said Jim
Bunker, observing program leader for the National
Weather Services Mount Holly office.
Frozen pipes, hypothermia and frostbite will be serious concerns for New Jersey residents through Saturday.
Freezing temperatures will create potentially lifethreatening conditions. Temperatures this morning
were expected to dip below zero, according to the National Weather Service, with high winds and arctic
temperatures creating wind chill values of 15 to 20 degrees below zero.
If you are going out, please take this seriously. Bundle up. Wear gloves, said Steven DiMartino, a Freehold-based meteorologist who runs NYNJPAWeather.com.

PREVENTING BURST PIPES

Frozen water pipes are a serious concern when temperatures
plummet below freezing for prolonged periods of time. To
prevent pipes from bursting from the pressure of expanding
ice, keep thermostats set above 55 degrees, even at night,
according to the American Red Cross. Open kitchen and
cabinet doors to allow warm air to flow around plumbing.
During the coldest hours, let cold water drip from pipes to
prevent freezing, according to the Red Cross.

Family Promise has helped hundreds of local residents get back on their feet

There are people living in cars with their children

because of bad luck a car accident, or they got sick.
Something happens to them, and they end up in crisis.
Jane and Robert know the feeling. The couple, who
asked that their last name not be used, found them-
