OUT OF OFFICE

Vice President of International Kyle Lowe is

WorldVentures very own globetrotter. Since
he joined the company in 2009, Kyle has been
at the helm of WorldVentures expansion
outside the United States, introducing new
markets to the idea of how to Make a living
Living! He works with the WorldVentures
executive team and leaders in the field to
design and implement strategies to ensure
Representatives in international markets
have what they need to be successful. Kyle
is a leading authority in global expansion
operations and strategy for network
marketing and direct sales companies, having
helped multiple firms develop a presence in
more than 100 countries worldwide. He has
lived in Europe, Asia, and North and South
America before making his home near the
WorldVentures corporate office in Dallas.

ravel is so much a part of what I do at WorldVentures, it has become a way of life. I travel
to meet new people, establish contacts, reach out to build the early stages of WV around the
globe and build relationships. I also travel to discover the world around me. I believe you
must equally value both the journey and the destination in life. Getting there must be half the fun.
That puts the word getaway into a different light, doesnt it? You dont really get away as much
as you get backget back to soaking in the sights and sounds of the world; reflect and get back
to yourself. Becoming your whole self in the process. The entire process allows me to slow down,
enjoy what I see, get to know the people I meet and completely resist the destination-fixation.
You could say theres a method to the mindset: While the destination gets me going, the journey
allows me to embrace the process and form memories that deepen my commitment to the world I
live in and the people I meet.
In many ways, I travel to spread the word. WorldVentures mission has been steadfast: to bring
people together, to enhance their experiences and to show them how to live fulfilled, impactful
lives. I meet people and talk to them about their backgrounds, their families, their culture,
influences, dreams, destinations and values. The investment is always reciprocal. On my travels,
Ive met so many different people whove opened up their homes and hearts to me and have let
me see the world from their perspective. I am still moved by their trust, generosity and heart.
No matter where I go, although cultures and languages and landscapes may change, the people
remain the same. Each possesses the desire to come together, enjoy each other and share a
commitment to take care of the people they love.
Core Value #2 is by far my favorite: We are one big team. But what does that mean? What kind
of team is spread across 26 different countries around the globe? A team that is passionate about
bringing the mission and vision of WorldVentures to everyone we know. Our belief in this
business, no matter where we are or what culture were from, no matter our age or gender or
circumstance, is something that inspires us to come together as one big team (and family) and
unite across differences to ensure we live life to the fullest, together.

CORNER

GOING FOR GOLD!

BY MARC ACCETTA

ochi, Russia, was the setting for the 2014

Winter Olympics. Many athletes from
around the world prepared for this big
event for the last five to 10 years. Many of
them had but one goal, to win the gold medal.
If you look at the Olympics from years gone
by, they are filled with inspirational stories
of amazing victories. Some of the victors
were young and some were a little bit older,
some of the victors were male and some were
female, some of them had dark skin and some
had lighter skin, but they all had one thing in
common: They all had the heart of a champion!
One of my favorite movies is Miracle. That
movie tells the true story of the 1980 United
States Olympic hockey team. It was a team
that nobody gave a chance to win anything.
It was a team that had to compete against
the mighty Soviet team that had not lost a
game in more than 20 years in the Olympics.
That movie tells the true story of what those
young men went through to come together as
a family and to do the impossible ... create a
miracle, and win the gold medal!
The movie is filled with incredible scenes,
but my favorite is when the U.S. coach, Herb
Brooks, addresses the team in the locker
room and implores them that this cannot be

a team of common men! He continues to tell

them that if they played the Soviets 20 times,
they would probably lose 19, but not tonight.
Tonight is their time!
Its so inspiring to me because many of us
who join network marketing do so because we
were not doing so great in the real world.
Many of us have been underdogs our whole
lives. That movie shows what anyone can do
if they have the heart of a champion! It shows
what you can do if you decide that now, in
2014, its your time!
WorldVentures gives us a field to play on.
They give us great products, great financial
opportunities and great training. What each
player does with those things is up to them.
How bad do you want it? Do you want to be
standing at the top of the gold medal stand at
the end of this year? If you do, then lets put
our heads down and go to work together. Lets
do something special in your life this year!
Lets go for the gold.
The worst thing that will happen is you may
fall short; but if you strive to make it happen,
I think youll find you had one heck of a great
year anyway.

Do you have
the heart of a
champion?
Focus on your goal.
Prepare for the task at hand.
Rise to the challenge.
Decide that now is your time.
Put your head down and work
together with your team.

Let the games begin!

With the help of 3,840 volunteers who contributed

appears to be even greater with plans to construct
five more. All five future DreamCourts will be

NCAA relationship was initiated by basketball

a DreamCourt this year, and theyre very excited to

unite with Chicago Reps to turn this dream into a
reality. Chicagos DreamCourt will be constructed
for the Morgan Park Boys & Girls Club, located on
the far south side of the city. The club currently has
no gym or basketball court, and children play in the
adjacent parking lot. As many of the programs that
help Chicago youth are private and occur after hours
in public schools, the Morgan Park Boys & Girls
Club is a go-to safe haven for kids in the community,
offering after-school programs and programs during
the summer.

More than a place to play, the multi-sport courts

In 2013, the WorldVentures Foundation raised donations totaling more than $140,000

Master in the Art of

LIVING
with DAVE and YVETTE ULLOA, INTERNATIONAL MARKETING DIRECTORS, UNITED STATES

BY FELICIA FULLER

n the provincial city of Cuenca, amid the

highlands of Ecuador, stands a beacon for
abused and abandoned children with no
place to call home. Its name, La Esperanza
Childrens Home, literally means hope. And
its legacy is rooted in the passion and purpose
of WorldVentures International Marketing
Directors Dave and Yvette Ulloa. A successful
couple with blue collar beginnings, their
main mission in life is to give back at the
same level of abundance with which theyve
been blessed.

To help plant the seeds of self-sufficiency and

entrepreneurism among the orphans, the team
also purchased conventional ovens for each
home, taught the children how to bake and
guided them on how to sell their goods at local
markets to raise funds for essentials.

My father, Galo, was orphaned in Ecuador at

8 years old, Dave shares. When he passed
away in November 2010 following a motorcycle
accident, instead of donating flowers, we asked
people to make a contribution to founding an
orphanage in his name. In less than 30 days, we
raised $30,000 to open the orphanage.
Leveraging the support of the WorldVentures
Foundation, the couple led a VolunTour to
Cuenca in 2011 with 40 DreamTrips Members
and, together, they performed the first
documented international extreme makeover
of an orphanage.

That formula proved applicable when Dave

faced seemingly insurmountable odds during
his youth. Despite his inner city upbringing
in New York and California, he went on to
earn a B.S. in criminal justice from California
Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks,
Calif., where he minored in coaching. And
despite his perceived vertical disadvantage
at 58, he landed a five-year contract to
play professional basketball with the Echuca
Pirates of Australia at the age of 21. His career
path ultimately led to a patrol officer position
with the Los Angeles Police Department,
where he worked for eight years.

With manpower, money and love, we got La

Esperanza off the ground in just a few short
months, Dave said. Since then, weve opened
two more homes. It seemed only fitting to honor
my fathers memory by helping children who
are in the same situation he faced as a child.

Similarly, Yvette experienced her own brand

of bootstrap achievement being born in
Queens, raised in Bolivia with three brothers,
then uprooted and repatriated to California
during her early teens. It was a big jump and
a difficult one, she recalls.

12

APPLYING PARENTAL WISDOM

My father gave me a formula for success

which was: Desire + belief + action = success.
Ive applied that formula in all facets of my life
and I freely share it with others.

Yvette would go on to compete in beauty

pageants, claiming the Miss Glendale USA and
Miss USA International titles. Her scholarly
pursuits led to a degree in communications and
political science from California State University,
Northridge. She built a respectable career as
director of economic development with the
City of Burbank, where she worked for 10 years
before retiring with honors from the Burbank
and Los Angeles City Councils, the Economic
Alliance of the San Fernando Valley and various
non-profit organizations.
No matter where you come from, you can
change your life if you change your mindset,
Dave explains. Your environment doesnt
determine your destiny. If you follow simple
principles, you, too, can have an abundant
lifestyle. We travel all over the world sharing
this message.
Growing up low income, I had what I needed
but not what I wanted. I desired to have more
and to give more. Life is completely different
now. When I go back home to New York, its
definitely different. Weve done speaking
engagements there. It is so humbling to see
how far weve come. Im so grateful for what
we have.

STEPPING INTO DESTINY

Dave and Yvette joined WorldVentures during

the pre-launch in November 2005 at the urging
of a friend who was also a Rep at the time.

The master in the art of living makes little distinction

between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his
mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his
love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He
simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does,
leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing.
To him hes always doing both.

James A. Michener

We want to make sure

the quality of our life is
that of vitality and energy
and excitement ... no matter
how long we have on this
earth. When youre healthy
and fit, everything else
seems to fall into place
your relationships,
your finances and
your happiness.

14

Disillusioned by the realities of disappearing

pensions, sluggish wage growth and market
meltdown likely requiring them to work
well into their senior years, the couple had
determined it was time for radical change.
We had found ourselves in the rat race of
basically going to work, coming home, paying
bills and starting the cycle all over again. We
started learning that if we wanted to get out of
the rat race and living an average life, we needed
to become entrepreneurs. We had already started
to invest in real estate, the stock market, etc., but
none of it gave us time freedom.
Voracious readers of personal empowerment
books, they embraced the tenets of Rich
Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. The
loosely autobiographical bestseller advocates
building wealth through investing, starting and
owning businesses, as well as increasing ones
financial intelligence.
We were introduced to the concept of direct
sales by reading books, but all the potions,
lotions, etc., didnt appeal to us, Dave says.
Travel was the perfect fit for us. The fact
that it had a business opportunity attached
was bonus.
The couple steadily rose through the ranks by
seizing every available training and professional
development opportunity. Today, in addition
to their IMD status, Dave and Yvette sit on the
Presidents Advisory Council and are international
trainers for the company. And while they
were already avid travelers when they joined
WorldVentures, their jet-setting has increased
exponentially. At last count, theyd been on 96
vacations as Reps and DreamTrips Members,
with highlights including hunting big game in
Zimbabwe and sunbathing on the beaches of
Saint-Tropez, France, and Santorini, Greece.
We are first-timers in the industry, Dave says.
We did not come from another company. We
feel that our high values and personal growth
have created success in our business.
By their own definition, the couple is
truly living richbeing present in the
moment, contributing at a higher level and
living a life of fulfillment on a daily basis.
According to Dave, acquiring wealth is its
own reward; however, the most important
part is the fulfillment that comes from what
you give. Thats why the couple constantly
seeks new and creative ways to support the
empowerment of others.

CARVING A NEW NICHE

In September 2013, in conjunction with

WorldVentures, Dave and Yvette launched
Health & Fitness DreamTripsa novel
program that blends travel experiences,
wellness initiatives and fitness mentorship. The
inspiration for the program came two years
ago, when Yvette was diagnosed with a tumor
in her jaw and sought holistic alternatives to
traditional treatment.

Through my journey, we were able to stop

the growth without surgery, she exclaims.
We gained total health and fitness along the
way, and we look younger than ever. After
almost 15 years of marriage, Dave has a 10pack at 37, and Im 43 and very fit.
Though the couple maintained a healthy
lifestyle before Yvettes health scare, Dave
said that experience was the spark that
made us decide to share our knowledge
with others.
He continues: We want to make sure the
quality of our life is that of vitality and
energy and excitement ... no matter how long
we have on this earth. When youre healthy
and fit, everything else seems to fall into
placeyour relationships, your finances
and your happiness.
The inaugural Health & Fitness DreamTrip
was a four-day affair at the Westlake Four
Seasons in Los Angeles and drew 38 attendees.
We led the group through a health and
fitness experience, working out together and
exploring the mindset behind emotional
eating, Dave says. We sought to help them
identify things that were holding them back
from experiencing optimal health and fitness.
We taught them what to do, gave them
strategies and information, and a system to
follow for the next 90 days. Its a powerful
community of accountability and love.
Yvette proudly reports that the first group
lost more than 264 pounds within 60 to 75
days following the trip. Health & Fitness
DreamTrips will be held once or twice a year,
with the next one scheduled for May 2014.
She expressed her gratitude for the platform
WorldVentures has provided to spread their
message of self-actualization.
We have achieved success in multiple areas
of our lives because of our commitment to
personal development and growth, she
says. Personal development transformed
our lives. And, that success has translated
to all other areas of our life. We teach others
how they can have it all. They dont have
to sacrifice one thing. I think my greatest
achievement is retraining my brain to
believe that I can achieve anything. That
includes hitting IMD as a blue-collar person,
becoming a blue-collar millionaire, and
helping women have a voice worldwide to
believe that they can achieve, too.
Dave concurred, adding that its important
to seek joy in the journey: Many people
believe that to achieve success in life you
either have to delay your happiness or
sacrifice it altogether, including giving up
personal time. They think, One day when
I have this much money or that house and
car, Im going to be happy. Well, instead of
finding success and then being happy, we
decided to happily achieve.

E VALUES
Wendy Castillo, Regional Marketing Director, United States
BY MICHAEL LEWIS

t 23 years old, Wendy Castillo might

seem a little young to be living out
all her dreams.

She thinks so, too. The native of Brooklyn, N.Y.,

never imagined shed be driving around in a
BMW and making more money than anyone
she knows at an age when most people are just
starting out on their career paths.
Wendy has a rare drive and passion for network
marketing, but even she admits that how fast
her success has come has surprised her. I never
dreamed it could be like this for me, that it could
be so good, she says.
To be honest, it was really hard at first when
I started with WorldVentures, because all of
a sudden I had to learn how to handle all
this money I was suddenly making, Wendy
says with a laugh. When you dont have any
money, and then all of a sudden you have a lot
of it, its very tempting to spend, spend, spend.
I really struggled at first with discipline, but it
was a good problem to have, you know?

COMMIT TO RESOLUTION

Once she started with WorldVentures, Wendy

came to embrace and identify with Core Value
#5, Commit to Resolution.
I see every obstacle as a challenge to grow and
become a better me, she says. Theres a gift in
every struggle, and I focus on finding that rather
than focusing on the problem itself. There have
been plenty of obstacles thrown her way in life,
but Wendys resoluteness has shone through.
Wendys excitement about WorldVentures is
something she finds hard to contain. She talks
in quick bursts of run-on sentences filled with
adjectives like awesome, fantastic and
life changes.
In two years, Wendy has become a pioneer,
and is one of the most successful women at
WorldVentures from her area of New York.
Not bad considering how strongly her
whole family was against her WorldVentures
career. My entire family told me I was crazy and
didnt believe in me, Wendy shares. They didnt
like what I was doing, and I was even told I was
going to hell by the people I loved most!

But instead of letting them kill my dream, I used

it to my advantage and let (their feelings) fuel me.
I knew if I worked hard enough, it would show
and they would have no choice but to support
and follow me.
As it turned out, Wendy says, most of her
family has come around, but they are still a
little wary. They keep talking about security,
but I tell them that I have security with
this amazing career, she adds. Its hard
sometimes when you have negativity around
you, but I just read a lot of books and listened
to the audiotapes, and envisioned the lifestyle I
wanted to lead.
Wendy came to WorldVentures at one of the
lowest points of her life, she says. Running low on
money and working as a security guard, she said
her spiritual side led to a fateful meeting. I was
talking to God one night, asking for guidance,
she says. I really had no hope. A week later, I reconnected with Julio.
Julio is Julio Acosta Jr., a WorldVentures
International Marketing Director who Wendy had
known in high school. After her initial training,
Wendy says she was in shock when she saw the
vacation prices WorldVentures has to offer.
But what really locked me into the system
was the financial opportunity, and the vision
that was painted for us. Wendy cites Ed Blunt,
Julio Acosta Jr. and Matt Morris as her mentors
at WorldVentures, and has quickly developed
strategies to help her team members grow.
The tool I use the most after someone new has
been plugged in is Jeremy Larsens 7 Days to
Stick em audio, Wendy says. I also try to paint
the vision for new people on how life will be in
two years. We teach them long-term and we
teach consistency.
Wendy says that the You Should Be Here!
banner also plays a key role with new people
in the system. She calls it one of my biggest

tools because it intrigues people and makes

them curious as to what is behind the banner
and the smiles of people holding it. When used
correctly, the banner can be extremely helpful.
I tell people that if you like it just a little bit, get
started, and dont worry about knowing how to do
it, Wendy says. I tell them theres an entire group
of people here to help you. As for her own personal
motivation, Wendy shares that when she has down
days, she listens to audiotapes and takes a day to
recharge, reminding herself that tomorrow it will
get much better than it was today.
Wendy repeatedly says she is extremely grateful
for the change WorldVentures has brought to her
life, including the time and money and freedom to
spend time with her family, and to be able to pick
up and go on vacation without being held back.
But more than being motivated by personal gain,
she also feels a responsibility to show the path to
other young women from Brooklyn. I want to give
people where Im from hope again, and to let them
know that we can be whatever we want to be, and
accomplish whatever we can. It does not have to be
based on our race, our background, our gender or
anything else.
Wendy has seen the effects poverty and financial
straits have had on those around her, and shed love
to offer a way out. I really want to be able to bring
awareness that poverty is a mindset; we can always
change and become better, she says. As long as
we can dream it, we can achieve it.
Wendy continues to set ambitious goals for herself,
hoping to become an International Marketing
Director in one year, and a double IMD in five years.
Ultimately in 10 years, Wendy says, I want to be
the top female earner in the company.
And when obstacles arise, Wendy relies on Core
Value #5 to get her through. I listen to people who
have what I want, and I dont let anyone get in my
way, Wendy says, expressing her motto. So far, its
working pretty well!

I see every obstacle as a challenge to grow and

become a better me. Theres a gift in every struggle,
and I focus on finding that rather than focusing on
the problem itself.

ONE
SHARED

VISION
BY KATRINA LEWIS

Friendship is essentially a partnership.

- Aristotle

here is something to be said about

seeing a true and steady business
partnership in action. Trust,
communication and strong business acumen
are not tangible elements, yet each must
come together in a seamless dance for a
successful pairing to worknot only for
the involved parties, but for the success and
growth of their business as well. In 2006,
Gail Spears and Bobby Cochran continued
their years-long friendship and embarked on
a business collaboration that had everyone
at WorldVentures admiring each of their
synchronized steps.
Long before they started down their path
with WorldVentures, Gail and Bobby had
already planted the seeds of a lasting
friendship while working together at General
Motors Corporation. After spending more
than three decades ascending the corporate
ladder at General Motors, Gail experienced
a health scare that sidelined her and forced
a reassessment of her priorities in life. And
though she didnt know it at the time, this
temporary setback was setting both her, and
Bobby, up for a marvelous comeback.
After my stroke, I was going to do rehab and
return to work, Gail shares. But, I changed
my priorities and decided to cut back on hours
and enjoy life.
That renewed dedication to enjoy life began
when Gails nephew and his friend Carlos
Rogers settled down in her home one day and

18

presented WorldVentures to her. And though

she was impressed with the potential she
saw in WorldVentures, as she remembers, the
presentation left a bit to be desired.
Initially, I was not impressed, she shares. I
thought they were trying to sell me something
they didnt understand. But, I knew I was in. It
made senseeveryone loves to travel and the
product sold itself. We could travel more for
less money and I knew our friends and family
could benefit from what we did.
Although Gail was emotionally invested,
she believed a second opinion was in order.
And in Bobby, Gail knew she would get
sound feedback.
We worked together previously and he knew
everyone and they both liked and trusted him,
she says. I knew I could trust him and knew I
could help him get more out of life and position
him to change his financial status significantly
if we worked together.
Bobby echoes those sentiments when speaking
of his decision to work with Gail and start a
new adventure with WorldVentures.
Weve been friends for more than 25 years
and I trust her impeccably, he says. I know
she is a person of integrity and that was fine
with me.
Fully vested in a new dream and supported by
Gails husband Rickie, Gail and Bobby

knew they had to understand the product
they were presenting to others. And after her
first DreamTrip (a relaxing cruise), Gail knew
she, Bobby and the team they were hard at
work building were going to reap benefits far
beyond earning residual income.
We paid much less than prior cruises, but I
was more impressed with the culture, Gail
says. Being personally greeted, the private
party, member interaction, and the gifts we
receivedall of it.
With stellar career histories, both Gail and
Bobby were comfortable with taking on
active leadership roles as the work began
to grow their WorldVentures team. And
like many great leaders, the duo recognized
that empowering, inspiring and motivating
others would be the only way to attract the
high-potential team members they desired.
But, they also acknowledged that honest
dedication to their teams successes would take
them just as far. And though no words were
uttered, both mentally pledged early on that
WorldVentures would be the instrument they
used to introduce positive change to their team
members lives.
My first seven or eight people joined without
seeing a presentation, Gail says. They saw
my excitement and trusted me when I said I
believed this was the right company with the
right product, and the right compensation
plan to change many, many lives. They made
an immediate decision to enhance their lives.
They knew me and they knew that I didnt go
for hype.
They knew two other things for certain,
as well, she continues. One, I wouldnt
participate in any business venture that I didnt
truly believe in; and two, I definitely wouldnt
get my friends and family involved.
An enthusiastic communicator, Gail has a
vivacious spirit that seems to stand in sharp
contrast to Bobbys more reserved and quiet
nature. Bobbys a man of few words, but
he has an undeniable presence and brilliant
business mindset. He works behind the scenes,
preferring Gail to own the spotlight when they
appear on stage at WorldVentures events or
during training sessions.
Yet oddly enough, their distinctively different
personalities could very well be the key that
makes them the perfect business partners.

20

21

22

That and mutual respect and admiration

for what the other brings to the table have
forged one of the tightest team bonds that
WorldVentures has ever seen.
What makes our partnership work is our
respect for our roles. We can always depend
on each other. He is solid, Gail continues.
Bobby keeps me laughing and I keep him
working! Together, with our dynamic team,
we are unstoppable.
Gail is brilliant and an absolutely amazing
woman, Bobby says. Shes all about taking
care of business.
As for the day-to-day business dealings,
they have a system for that as well and its
definitely worked in their favor.
We share roles, Gail says, reflecting on the
particulars of how they run their business.
Bobby provides support to the entire team.
They know hes blunt, with no fluff. He has
the ability to remain unemotional with his
decisions and in the end, hes solved the
problem and everyones laughing. Myself,
I love the detailed, strategic aspect of the
business and Ill work until I drop! We
leverage each other perfectly.

A DREAM TEAM

For both Gail and Bobby, everything they put

into WorldVentures is about this dynamic
team of people who theyve guided and
actively mentored since they started with
WorldVentures. That initial seven or eight
who joined just a few years back has now
swelled into a group of more than 12,000
across the country, all contributors to the
well-oiled machine that is their team. So, how
does a single pair of business owners manage
to make each member of their massive team
feel welcome and a part of the fold? Its truly
a labor of love.
Our focus is on maintaining our team,
Gail says. We communicate via phone,
team calls and visits. I welcome team
members via text and return all missed calls
personally. Everyone receives a returned call.
We stay united and we dont allow division.
Our leaders spread this culture and the core
commitment that We Are One Big Team,
she says, referencing WorldVentures second
Core Value.
A typical day starts and ends with phone
calls, Gail says. Three-ways, leadership
discussions, congratulatory calls to recognize
performance and returning calls. Theres
also travel parties and big events that we plan
with our leaders.
Anyone with access to Gails Facebook page
can see that her and Bobbys focus is squarely
on their team. And what a very fitting tribute.
There are endless photos of team members
and motivating gems like Your happiness
depends on your attitude that fill her
timeline. Not to mention, congratulatory

23

messages for team promotions, and new

team member welcomes are also plentiful.
The growth of their team and the passion that
radiates from both Bobby and Gail has not
gone unnoticed among the WorldVentures
ranks either.
They are some of the most caring people
in WorldVentures, in terms of being global,
and embodying Core Value #2We Are One
Big Team, International Marketing Director
Yvette Ulloa says. They love everyone and
help everyone. Theyve built one of the
strongest cultures in WorldVentures and have
one of the most united teams in the whole
company. They have incredible heart, vision
and lead by using the product.
From the jump, Gail says she and Bobby
knew that WorldVentures was going to mean
so much to those who were willing to be
coachable and follow their example.
My motivation has always been to help
everyone on our team reach their goals,
Gail says. Its not about Bobby and me. We
were both in great financial shape when we
first saw WorldVentures. Im blessed to have
WorldVentures as a vehicle that has helped
and will continue to helpmany people.
Theres no possibility of losing my motivation
with such a powerful vehicle that just keeps
getting better.
Bobby reflects this same belief. The
DreamTrips, the compensation plan
this company has a long-term plan and
cares about their people, he says. The
owners have integrityno question about
Wayne[Nugent] or Mike [Azcue]. Im 72 years
old and Ive never seen anything like this
because there is nothing like this.
As theyve watched their team carve out their
own unique stories of success, it was only
fitting that both Gail and Bobby be recognized
for their phenomenal achievements within
WorldVentures. And that shining moment
came during last years Boot Camp session in
Denver. Though Gail and Bobbys focus had
not been on ascending the WorldVentures
ranks, hitting such a milestone like
International Marketing Director definitely
danced around in their heads.
I knew hitting IMD status was possible from
Day One, Gail says. But I never made this
the focus. It could have been done much
sooner, but it would have meant focusing on
our success and not our teams success. But I
knew we would get there.
Even as they waited backstage, with the roar
of the Boot Camp crowd echoing all around
them, their concentration was not on what
this achievement meant for them, but on what
it would represent to their team.
The team was unaware of what was about
to happen, Gail shares. We were hoping to

24

25

solidify that anyone can get to IMD, regardless

of gender, race or any other perceived barriers.
Witnessing another success story and hearing
the reconfirmations of the WorldVentures
founders and the WorldVentures staff provides
the fuel to keep accelerating our efforts to
help others.
The ability to help others is something both
Gail and Bobby can definitely appreciate about
the WorldVentures business model. And the
best part is, they only have to look as far as
some of the Reps on their team to see that
WorldVentures really is the catalyst for making
dreams of financial stability and personal
achievement a reality.
We have a young man who spent time
incarcerated, Gail says. He wanted to
turn his life around, but Corporate America
wouldnt give him a shot. Today, hes one of
the top income earners on our team! We have
another lady who worked two jobs for more
than 20 years to put her kids through college.
She only works one job now and earns more
money than she ever earned. That drives the
point home. We have judges on our team and
we have people whove been incarcerated.
Its a full circle. From 19 years old to 80 years
oldyou wont find that diversity in the
traditional workforce.
Like any other team, Gail and Bobby have
those under them who need an extra dose
of get out there and make it happen.
But no worries. Gail and Bobby are up to
the challenge.
Our greatest challenge is keeping people
believing they can do this. Its easy for
people to give up on themselves. Sometimes,
Ive wanted this more for them than theyve
wanted it for themselves. You can help
keep motivated people motivated, but not
motivate unmotivated people. The team
leaders also believe wholeheartedly that
attending corporate trainings is critical when
it comes to maintaining motivation.
Though theyve already reached the
highest position within WorldVentures,
Gail and Bobby have no plans to slow down
any of their efforts to continue to bring about
change in the lives of others. And in doing so,
they continue to be shining examples, not only
for their team but to those who have been lucky
enough to cross their paths.
WorldVentures is phenomenal, Gail
says. Ive never seen so many people
from all walks of life care, share and help
each other, whenever and wherever possible.
Everyone is truly entrenched in the success
of others, even when it doesnt benefit them
financially. People are living lives that were
unimaginable for them prior to joining
WorldVentures. We must share our product and
business opportunity with everyone! Theyll
either want to travel, make more money or
both. Well let them decide, knowing that their
lives will be fully enhanced either way!

26

Though theyve
already reached the
highest position within
WorldVentures, Gail
and Bobby have no
plans to slow down
any of their efforts to
continue to bring about
change in the lives of
others. And in doing
so, they continue to be
shining examples, not
only for their team
but to those who have
been lucky enough to
cross their paths.

The Ultimate Team

Eric Allen, National Marketing Director, United States
BY SCOTT KRAMER

t roughly 10.5 square miles,

Whitestown, Ind., probably feels a bit
small at times to its 3,500 residents.
But Eric Allen, WorldVentures newest
National Marketing Director whos based
there, doesnt feel very confined. To him, the
entire world is more like home.

that if I dont want to go on vacation with

you, then I probably dont want you to be on
my team. A common trait my team members
have is that they just want more out of life.
They see WorldVentures as a vehicle that can
transform their lives. I always like to find out
why theyre doing WorldVentures.

After all, the well-traveled NMD runs a

massive team thats spread out all over the
globe. And to keep as many of his team
members as possible on the same page, the
former high school and college basketball
coach trusts the up-and-comers on his crew.

His team is very important to him, and

Allen also believes that reaching higher
sales levels is more attainable with great
teammates. That said, he loves the companys
training regimen. The key is finding people
who are self-motivated and want to assert
themselves, Allen says. The great part
of WorldVentures is training that everyone
plugs into online. It can make the team
significant, when were finding other people
who play in and commit to the program. I
probably have six rock stars who account for
most of the people on my team.

He obviously doesnt get the chance to select

every individual for his teammuch to his
disappointment. But when he does have
that opportunity, he seeks particular values
in peoplethose hes confident will bring
his team a high level of success. And those
prospects will, in turn, attract like values in
the people they recruit.
Im looking for people with high character
and high integrity, Allen says. Those who
are approachable, fun to work with and fun
to travel with. My personal rule of thumb is

28

Its a far cry from his days of coaching

basketball, when he could personally assess
a players strengths and weaknesses, and
deem where theyd fit in on the court.
However, Allen doesnt necessarily see
similarities in recognizing a potential

WorldVentures teammates solidity

and vulnerabilities.
This is different from basketball coaching,
because you never know who will step up and
make things happen with WorldVentures, he
says. Ive learned over time in this company
that I cannot pre-judge people. So I look for
positive, proactive people who want more out
of life. That said, there are some similarities
to basketball in that I dont want whiners or
complainers on my team. Nor do I want people
who are going to quit when things arent going
as well as they can go. I definitely have some
teammates who can play the game a whole lot
better than I could. In basketball terms, you
only need a couple of superstars on your team
to change the game forever.
The parallel in Allens life is that he moved
away from coaching basketball, because it
took up 95 percent of his time, he estimates.
That was time he wanted to spend with his
wife and three children. For myself, its all
about my family and the legacy I leave, he
says. Theyre why I got into WorldVentures
so I could be a full-time family man. After all,
theyre his ultimate team.

Max, Jennifer and Andrea Tay

Second Chance
Max Tay, Regional Marketing Director, Singapore
BY SCOTT KRAMER

ax Tay, a WorldVentures Regional

Marketing Director, grew up in an
average family. The Singapore natives
father drove a cab, and his mother was a
teacher. Together, his parents taught him to get
a good degree, a good job and good pay. After
graduating from Monash University Gippsland
Campus with a bachelors degree in computing,
Max returned to Singapore in 2002, only to find
the dot-com bust souring the economy, which
meant he was jobless.
Devastated, Max got involved with direct
sales. He claims he failed at it for nine
consecutive years. Fast forward to January
2011. An acquaintance had been nudging Max
to try WorldVentures. Honestly, when I saw
this, I wasnt into travel, he admits. It was
the business aspect of WorldVentures that
really attracted methe fact that the travel
industry is a $6.6 trillion industry.
For two years, Max worked WorldVentures on a
part-time basis, but last January he turned it into
a full-time business. It has successfully allowed
me and my wife to fire our bosses, allowing us
to spend more time with each other and our
precious daughter, Max says, who also started

taking vacations. This year alone, we have gone

on 17 vacations all paid through travel dollars.
Because his parents taught him about working
hard, Maxs values and prior work experiences
ideally season him to make a successful run
with WorldVentures. A lot of people ask me
how its possible to fail nine years in direct sales
and still believe in it, he says. Well, I once
read this amazing quote by Calvin Coolidge
that stuck with me: Nothing in the world can
take the place of persistence. Talent will not;
nothing is more common than unsuccessful
men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded
genius is almost a proverb. Education will
not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are
omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved
and always will solve the problems of the
human race.
Hes driven mostly by wanting to spend time
with his wife and daughter whenever possible.
Everything I do is for them, he says. All
the success were having now is due to the
sacrifices theyve made to make it happen.
Thats why its never a personal effort but
rather a team effort.

Thus, the companys Living Rich mantra

means to him having fun, freedom and
fulfillment. That means the freedom to spend
quality time with his family, or to go on a
DreamTrip together.
For the work part of it all, Max relies heavily on
tools such as Fast Start and the You Should Be
Here! video to present and get people started.
He also encourages Reps to give the very
famous YSBH banner to all our direct sign-ups,
so that they can take a lot of pictures with it,
he says, adding that when its up to him to
promote DreamTrips, he mimics what Marc
Accetta teaches in his trainingshe books a
DreamTrip and invites others to go.
Through WorldVentures, I hope to help
more people to be free, ultimately having
financial and time freedom, Max says.
Ever since I joined direct selling in 2002, I
saw it as a platform to help average people
achieve financial and time freedom. Through
WorldVentures, I see more and more average
people like me succeed.
Based on his accomplishments so far, Max is
anything but average.

Jonathan, Kwinn and family

Here We Go Again
Jonathan and Kwinn Gooch, Regional Marketing Directors, United States
BY SHELLEY SCOTT

onathan has always been a dreamer

and wasnt afraid to chase after
what others said was the impossible.
When he came home and said he joined
WorldVentures without my permission, I
thought to myself, Here we go again. In
2008, this was the outlook of Jonathan Goochs
wife, Kwinn, although her opinion quickly
changed. Today Kwinn could not be any
happier that Jonathan decided to chase after
what others said was the impossible, and for
more than four years now, WorldVentures has
been Jonathan and Kwinns sole source
of income.
Jonathan and Kwinn both hail from small
Tennessee towns and are from working
class families. Thanks to WorldVentures, the
couples lifestyle looks very different from
that of their parents. The daily routine of
Kwinns father consisted of working from
6 a.m. to 9 p.m., eating leftovers for dinner,
taking a shower and then going to bed. He
repeated this routine for 36 years! Although
Jonathan and Kwinn certainly work hard,
their hard work comes in a much more
appealing package: one that includes sleeping

30

in, vacation time and a devotion to God.

Their alarm clock is only needed to get their
oldest daughter ready for school, they have
taken more than 26 vacations in the past few
years and, most importantly, they are able to
continue the evangelical ministry Jonathan
started which impacts thousands around
the world!
Having earned his $100,000 ring, Jonathan
credits WorldVentures with giving him
a platform to grow and he has advanced
to Regional Marketing Director. Prior to
WorldVentures, the couple owned two pizza
restaurants, Jonathan pastored a church and
their little girl had just turned 1. Life was
going great until the economy turned sour
and their finances took a sharp downward
spiral. Financially unstable and with limited
resources, the couple turned to WorldVentures
as a creative way to support their family.
Without owning a vehicle, yet wanting to
attend WorldVentures travel parties, Jonathan
and Kwinn went to their local car dealership
and asked to test drive a vehicle overnight.
The next day, they would go to a different car

dealership and do the same thing. Times were

tough, but they persevered and the company
now provides a Wings & Wheels Lifestyle
Bonus for their 530i BMW.
WorldVentures has enabled the Gooches to
build a business that will last for generations
to come. They now have three beautiful
children, and financial security is of the
highest importance; however, thats not all
WorldVentures has provided them with.
WorldVentures has allowed for things more
valuable than money.
Rich in my eyes means waking up in the
morning and watching my children sleep,
Jonathan says. It means watching my kids
take their first plane ride, meeting Mickey
Mouse for the first time and building their first
sandcastle on the beach. Reflecting back on
the first day WorldVentures entered their lives,
the day that Kwinn thought to herself Here
we go again, Jonathan gives this advice:
There is nothing impossible in this world.
The greatest feeling in the world is to have
someone tell you, Thats impossible! and then
prove to them that it is possible.

Denny and Susy Andrian with their children

Answered Prayers
Denny and Susy Andrian, Marketing Directors, Singapore
BY CARISSE AYERS

or Denny and Susy Andrian, family is

their highest priority. They are husband,
wife and parents, and are heavily
involved in family ministry through their
church. Their WorldVentures business has
become a means to support their growing
family, and to help many other families attain
the financial abundance they need.
Denny enjoyed a successful career in the
petrochemical industry before his latest
promotion required more than he was willing
to sacrifice, and he decided to resign. Im a
husband of a lovely wife and a father of four
precious children, Denny says, I started
my professional career in the petrochemical
industry, then when I was promoted to be the
Director of the company, I decided to resign due
to extensive business travel requirements which
I foresaw as preventing me from spending
quality time with my family and missing my
kids grow up.
After Denny had already replaced his day job
with a full-time business, he and Susy searched
for a way to help other families. We learned
many couples are having family problems

because of financial troubles, Denny admits.

This inspired us to want to find a vehicle or
platform to help them. We knew that even
though we have our conventional business,
it wouldnt be big enough to hire and help
people financially.
When Susy learned about WorldVentures
through a friend, she felt it was an answer to
their prayers, but Denny was skeptical. In
the past, Ive never been interested in multilevel
marketing because I came from a conventional
business. As a result, when my wife tried to
explain it to me at that time, I wasnt interested.
Dennys mind finally changed after a colleague,
the Senior Vice President of a multinational
bank, took the time to call him and explain
WorldVentures. His capacity as a senior
banker got my attention, Denny says. I would
not have joined if it werent for him, and his
position. We are grateful that he took the time
to share this great platform.
Denny and Susy see their success as a gift from
God, and a means to positively impact the lives
of families, and to give hope that it is possible

to change lives and achieve dreams and that

it is very possible to have fun, freedom and
fulfillment in the process.
When it comes to building their business, they
rely on fellowship, inspired by their experiences
in church and their relationship with God.
Everyone watches over someone, making sure
each has someone to hold accountable. Train
others to leverage the advice and success of their
mentors and follow the system, Denny advises.
Continue to share the good news to as many
people as possible without pre-judging them.
One year later, Denny and Susy can honestly
say they have experienced positive change
through WorldVentures. We are growing much
more in our characters. We have more friends
and more challenges at the same time more
wisdom, more faith, and witness for favors in
our lives.
Denny has this to offer to prospective new
members: You must have a strong why.
Life is short. Dont work alone. Work like
antsdiligent, cooperative, and with good
communication. WorldVentures works!

For the Fun of It

Anna and Torkel Idehn, Directors, Sweden
BY CARISSE AYERS

un is commonly viewed as frivolous,

extra, something to enjoy only if you
have the time outside of the daily 9 to 5
grind of responsibility. In fact, many sayings
reinforce this sentiment: This is no laughing
matter, or Serious times call for serious
actions. But in reality, fun can be a powerful
tool for transformation, and happens to be the
core value that Marketing Directors Anna and
Torkel Idehn align with the most.
We have always designed our own life
with both work and vacations, explains
Torkel. Our big passion in life is traveling,
discovering new things and meeting new
people. It has been very enriching and
stimulating, especially for our sons because
they have always been with us on our trips.

Anna and Torkel are married with three

sons and live in Lidkping, a small town in
southwest Sweden. Anna is a nurse; Torkel
is a chiropractor; both are life coaches. They
have owned a health studio since 1986, which
gave them the flexibility to balance life and
career while raising their children. We have
worked and lived in the same house with our
sons Filiph, 23, Jonathan, 21, and Gabriel, 16.

32

It has been a privilege to raise our kids this

way since as parents we have always been
there for them, Anna adds.
Given their desire for freedom and flexibility,
having a direct-sales business was inevitable,
but when they discovered WorldVentures in
April 2013, they were truly ecstatic. Direct
sales came in to our lives in 1997 and we
really enjoyed that industry, Anna shares.
Wed been working with a totally different
product, but when we realized there is a
company whose product was travel, we
couldnt believe our eyes.
When working their business, Anna and
Torkel get the best results when their
prospects are both entertained and motivated.
We love to have fun and when we do the
presentation, we always do it with a lot of
passion and enthusiasm, Torkel says. Matt
Morris was in Norway on September 15 and
the message we received was create a blitz
until the November event, which was A View
from the Edge. We were really committed to
this and we had 60 days to do it, and we did it
all by the book. We reached Director the week
before the event.

Anna and Torkel see their WorldVentures

business as a great opportunity to create
something together as a family, Anna says. To
be a free soul is very important to us, especially
to show our sons it is possible. WorldVentures
has the opportunity we want to give our
children, our friends and our fellow human
beings, to give them hope for the future. This is
our passion, to Make a living Living! To make
other peoples dreams come true.
The presence of fun, freedom and fulfilment
in Anna and Torkels daily lives has been
instrumental to their success. The best feeling
in the world is getting paid to do what you love
to do. Dont dream your life, live your dream!

A Natural Leader
Toneo Josephs, Senior Representative, United Kingdom
BY CARISSE AYERS

enior Representative Toneo Josephs

possesses a quiet, confident energy. If you
ever meet him, youll notice immediately
that hes well-grounded, and his actions
and words are thoughtful and deliberate.
His methodical, consistent approach to his
WorldVentures business is gaining the respect
of his peers, keeping him on a steady path
to greatness.
When Toneo first heard about the opportunities
offered by WorldVentures, he was intensely
focused on his retail career, and therefore not
ready to make a change. Two years passed and
he reached his five-year anniversary with the
same company. Unfortunately, at that time, the
cynicism and lethargy of burnout had become
deeply rooted. That was when his journey truly
began. Working a minimum of 50 hours a
week and generating millions for that company,
I received two packets of crisps, a bottle of olive
oil and chocolate dips, he admits. I couldnt
continue building someone elses dreams and
empire while I was neglecting my worth by not
fulfilling my greatness. In 2009, I took time out
for me. I traveled, purchased a home and began
volunteer work at a leadership academy that
helps shape the lives of young boys.

In 2012, while this singer/songwriter was in

the middle of recording, a good friend, Natalie
Cherrington, approached him with another
opportunity to become a WorldVentures
Representative. For Toneo, the time was right.
After deliberating on what to do with my
life, Natalie called, three years after my first
awareness of WorldVentures. Before she could
even finish her pitch, I gave her my credit card
details and said Im in, he says.
Today Toneos personal and professional life is
more fulfilling, thanks to WorldVentures. He
enjoys more quality time with family and friends.
He works his business part time, by himself,
but expects that to change in the near future.
His ultimate goal is to become an International
Marketing Director and help thousands of
people become residual income earners.
Without hesitation, he shares his plan for such
an undertaking. Break it down into bite-size
goals, then focus on each mini goal at a time. The
objective is still the same, but it just helps you
sustain motivation and minimize your becoming
deflated along the way.
Toneo plans to accomplish each mini goal exactly
the same way he became a Senior Representative:

consistently and by example. To win big in

life, its imperative to keep your foot on the gas
pedal, he says. I follow the four-step duplication
modelInvite, Expose, Teach, Train. I cant expect
any of my team to do what I havent or dont do, so
I always strive to lead by example.
Aside from his personal ambition, Toneo is
passionate about having a positive impact on
the lives of others. Not only am I certain that
WorldVentures will allow me to grow as a
person in all areas of my life, but I also believe it
promotes togetherness, unity, love and harmony
by bringing different nations and people together.
I get so much joy by adding value and making
a difference in the lives of others. I believe
once I achieve time and financial freedom with
WorldVentures, I will be able to contribute even
more abundantly to others and help leave this
world a better place than when I arrived, he says.
Toneo welcomes anyone who is considering
joining WorldVentures and offers this last piece
of advice, Its never too late to be the person
you were born to be. He adds that a prospective
teammate should only join us if youre serious
and passionate about improving the quality of
your life and the lives of others.

Keeping it

SIMPLE
Wings & Wheels Lifestyle Bonus Spotlight: Anthony Gartman
Senior Representative, United States

BY FELICIA FULLER

t takes wisdom to know when you need

direction, and confidence to cast pride
aside and ask for it. And thats precisely
what highly successful people do, including
Anthony Gartman. As a WorldVentures Senior
Representative, he has humbly made listening
a priority as he ascends company ranks.
The biggest key to my success has been
surrounding myself with successful people
and getting the right mentor to work with, he
explains. As soon as I joined WorldVentures,
I understood that I was not a direct-sales
professional and I knew I had to find someone
who was. As soon as I found my mentor, I
became coachable and did everything I was told
and asked as many questions as possible. Because
of that, I have begun to see some success.
Anthony was introduced to WorldVentures last
summer while working as a branch manager
for Vector Marketing, seller of CUTCO fine
cutlery. Though he had attained measurable
success as one of the companys top
performers, he was working 14-hour days and
unable to enjoy the fruits of his labor.

40

I learned a ton of skills to last a lifetime;

however, I had no lifestyle and no time for
family or friends. I ultimately lost my passion
for the company. When another branch manager
found out I was leaving the company, he sent
me the link to the WorldVentures video. My only
question was, Is this legit? When I found out this
company allows me to work with a team, travel,
inspire others and, most importantly, change my
entire financial future, I was all in.
That was three months ago. Today Anthony is on
the fast track to advancement with more than 80
people in his organization. Thats no small feat for
a 21-year-old balancing business with academic
obligations as a full-time student at William
Paterson University in Wayne, N.J.
Its been very exciting and its only the
beginning, he says, adding that he devotes 25
to 30 hours per week to the business. I can only
imagine where my team and I will be in the next
year. My goal is to become a top Representative
with the company. I would love to be financially
free and able to influence, inspire and live a life
that many people only dream of.

Anthonys strategy for building his business and

fulfilling his vision is predicated on simplicity. In
short: 1) make the list, 2) place the calls and
3) show the product.
I dont try to over-complicate the business or
confuse my people, he asserts. Since were a
new team and still learning how to build this
business the best way, we focus on two-on-ones
and exposing three to five new people per day.
My team and I understand the more exposures
we complete will only help the growth of our
team. We focus on two-on-ones and build until
our team develops enough for travel parties.

Beyond His Years

Anthonys youth belies his ability to think

critically and, most importantly, to inspire
excellence in others. His advice to those seeking
to get ahead in the business is clear
and concise:
Get ready to be beat up. Whenever youre
going after a big goal or something that can
change your life, its not going to be easy. Youre
going to need to have a why, a reason that will

It is impossible to become successful with

a company like this by yourself. You need
a strong support system and a mentor. If
you have a why, a mentor and a strong
support system, there is nothing that can
keep you from your goals.

motivate and push you even when things are

not going well. Be coachable and surround
yourself with success. It is impossible to
become successful with a company like this
by yourself. You need a strong support system
and a mentor. If you have a why, a mentor and
a strong support system, there is nothing that
can keep you from your goals.
Anthonys professional mentors are directsales thought leaders like Wayne Nugent and
Mike Azcue, whove gone before him. But his
support system and his why are a little closer
to home. His key inspiration for staying the
course is his familydevoted parents who
raised him well with modest means and
big dreams.
I always tell them that one day their hard
work will pay off and I will be able to give
them everything they need, he shares. For
that reason I work to prove to them that they
have done an amazing job with me, and that
they wont always have to live paycheck to
paycheck. I can do nothing but stay motivated.
I wont fail them and I wont fail myself.
