This source talks about a real life situation that was resolved with the help of the Mujeres
Latinas en Accion organization and how people enrolled in the program can benefit from this
organization. This source will help me in my research because I can see how effective this program

to help others. This will be useful in my research because it will help me know who and what they

organization held to raise awareness about domestic violence. A group marched together to bring
domestic violence out of the shadows and say its not ok and arent willing to accept it. They
showed that the issue affects people of all backgrounds, ages, income levels and sexual orientation.
Domestic violence survivors and children held purple crosses that represented person who lost his/
her life because of domestic violence in the city.

a survivor from MLEA had to go through. The survivor felt more secure after being part of the
organization. It comes to show us that MLEA is actually an organization that is dedicated to help
out needs of fellow Latinas. Also in the text it talks about how famous singers like Jenni Rivera
raised more than $15,000 for MLEA.

want to make a difference in Latinas lives. This organization serves as a voice for Chicagos Latinas
on issues.

empowerments as well.

values and cultures.
