Locker Hire Agreement 2015


Terms and Conditions
1. Envi. Locker hire is available on levels 1, 2, and 3 the MSD Building at the University of Melbourne.

2. Locker hire is only available to current Environments Student Society (Envi) members who are currently enrolled in
the Bachelor of Environments (B-ENVS) or a postgraduate course offered through the Melbourne School of Design.
Any students who are not currently enrolled in these courses are not eligible to hire a locker.


3. Three locker sizes are available for hire: small, medium and large. Large lockers are available exclusively to BENVS and MSD student enrolled in subjects that require model making.
4. The Locker lease period in 2015 pertains to the academic year of the University of Melbourne beginning Week 1,
Semester One, and extending to the conclusion of the Semester Two examination period. (2/3/2015 to 06/12/2015).
All contents must be removed by the lessee by 5pm on 05/12/2015.


5. After the lease period, any locker that remains locked will be forcibly opened and any contents will be disposed of.
No compensation for loss of contents or damage to lock by the forcible removal of the lock or the contents of the
locker will be provided after the lease period ceases

6. Neither Envi. nor the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning (ABP) hold any responsibility for loss or
damage of property held within lockers during rental period.

7. It is the locker lessees responsibility for the safety and protection of all property held in lockers. It is the lessees
decision to use a lock to safe guard properties within the locker. If the lessee uses a lock on the locker it must feature
a shackle with a diameter of 6mm - 7mm. Locks with shackles of a larger or smaller diameter may be ineffective.

8. Contents stored in the locker are for educational purposes only. Students must never store any dangerous
goods, hazardous chemicals, (including paints and aerosols) and/or any illegal items (weapons, illicit drugs
etc) in lockers.
9. If the Faculty of ABP has reasonable concerns regarding the locker contents or misuse of locker it reserves the
right to forcibly enter the locker through whatever means, and will not refund costs regarding damages for
implementing this action.

10. Lockers found to be used that have not been hired through the Envi will be forcibly opened and have their
contents removed, with no refund regarding damages to any lock or the contents of the locker. Contents will be held
for two weeks, after which the contents may be discarded.

11. Lessees of large lockers who wish to terminate this agreement at the end of Semester One must contact Envi in
writing by 26/06/15. A refund of 50% of the hiring cost will be offered upon mid-year termination of the agreement.
12. The Lessee is liable for the repair costs of all internal and external damage to the locker. The Lessee agrees not
to put stickers on the outside of the locker or fix anything on the outside or inside of the locker. Lockers are all
individually numbered for identification and allocation purposes.
By purchasing a lease for a locker, the lessee understands, agrees and is bound by the terms & conditions as
stated above.
