Volksbank Romania Selects IBM for Business Resiliency and Data Recovery

Bucharest, Romania, 19 March 2013 Volksbank Romania, one of the leading banks in
Romania, today announced that it will move its IT infrastructure to the IBM Managed
Data Center in Bucharest,. With this move, Volksbank will be able to adapt to
continuously changing demands of the business environment and more fully protect the
banks data and operations from disrupting events.
As Volksbank seeks to transform its customer experience and expand the banking
solutions, they must ensure the IT infrastructure is continuously operational and protected
from interruptive events and disasters.
Volksbank turned to the IBM Managed Data Center for a proven disaster recovery
solution with minimum downtime, predictive cost benefits over time, and minimum
expense for expanding their infrastructure. The major benefits are highly availability for
banking applications and the capability to adopt new technologies.
Banks need smart solutions to accelerate innovation and increase operational

Throughout the three-year contract, Volksbank will use IBMs managed hosting services
