Using the GOP state party template, the Adams County Republican's launched a redesigned
website. Special thanks to Tony Hake, Dana West, and Bill Loaiza for their hours of hard work.
The site includes a new blog, a calendar of events, information about voter registration, and a list
of candidates. Be sure to check it out at www.adamscountygop.com.
Last summer Clark Bolser, Adams County Republican Chairman, asked Phil Saner to chair the
Voter Registration Committee, with Bob McCoy as the Voter Data Chief and Joe Hein as Project
Management Consultant.
The Democrats have been very effective at registering voters. During the 2008 campaign,
the Democratic Party in Adams County increased their registered voter
advantage over Republicans to 26,000 voters. In 2004 the Democrats only had 11,700
more registered voters than Republicans. The Democrats achieved this imbalance primarily
through the heavy recruitment of unregistered voters.
This imbalance is a real concern because once someone is affiliated with a political party, they
tend to vote for that party's candidates. Correcting this imbalance is critical to the 2010 elections,
after which re-districting will occur. Therefore, the Republican Party needs to register as many
Republicans as possible prior to the 2010 elections to avoid unfavorable district boundaries.
Phil and his team put together a multiple step registration plan that includes re-registering
Republicans that have moved into the area, and registering new voters.
This will be done using volunteers from local political groups like the Trumpeters, the R Block
Party, and other volunteers within the Republican Party. The goal is to register and re-register
over 10,000 Republicans.
If you are interested in volunteering to become an official Circulator, which will officially
authorize you to register voters, you will need to complete a one hour training course. Contact
Phil Saner at (303) 284-8435 or by email at psaner@msn.com and he will let you know the
details.
