Pseudoalteromonas ferment extract is an extract of the fermentation product of

Pseudoalteromonas and is classed as a biological product which is used as a humectant as well
as a humectant skin-conditioning agent.

Antarcticine is a trade marked name of this ingredient. It is a glycoprotein e tripeptide-1 molecule

which is a peptide containing the following three amino acid residues: glycine, histidine and
lysine. It is classed as a protein derivative and is used as a skin-conditioning agent.

It is obtained as an exopolymer, which is formed during cell growth on a gelatin base, of the
Pseudoalteromonas Antarctica NF3 bacteria. Although Antarcticine is not a bacterium, it is
derived from a new type of bacteria found at the bottom of a glazier at Inset Admiralty bay (King
George Island, South Shetland Island, and Antarctica) which was patented by the Spanish
biotech firm Lipotec.

The resultant exopolymer showed the most amazing benefits when used in skin care
preparations. Extensive tests also showed that Antarcticine has no negative side effect or any

Centella asiatica extract is reported to have been used effectively in the management of keloids,
leg ulcers, phlebitis, slow-healing wounds, leprous lesions, surgical lesions and cellulitis.

The effects of the extract from Centella asiatica and its individual components were studied on
human foreskin fibroblast monolayer cultures. The extract increased collagen synthesis in a dosedependent manner and the new collagen formed showed reduced specific activity. Asiatic acid
was found to be the only component responsible for collagen synthesis stimulation.

Centella asiatica extract was shown to enhance the levels of enzymatic and non-enzymatic
antioxidants such as superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione peroxidase, vitamin E and
ascorbic acid in newly formed tissues further validating its role in skin health maintenance

It also prevents or limits the shrinkage and swelling of the skin caused by infection and inhibits

The primary active constituents of Centella are saponins (also called triterpenoids), which include
asiaticoside, madecassoside and madasiatic acid.

The asiaticosides and triterpenes extracted from the plant have modulating properties on the
development and metabolism of connective tissue, improve the synthesis of collagen and other
tissue proteins by modulating the action of fibroblasts in the vein wall, and stimulate collagen
remodelling in and around the venous wall.

They therefore improve wound repair, with a better re-epithialisation and a normalisation of

interaction form a protective moisturizing complex, while the fucose polymers are hygroscopic
and act as hydrating agents and the ursolic acid can help form a protective barrier on the

They contain abundant non-essential and essential amino acids such as proline, glycine and

REGESTRIL a new anti-stretch mark active that prevents and reduces the appearance of
stretch marks.

Regestril which was composed of the dry green bean extract of Phaseolus lunatus that contained
a small protein with a molecular weight of 8,000 Daltons which inhibited tryptase and chymase.
Rutin, a well known flavonoid, possessed antioxidant properties of value in inflammatory stress: in
the presence of rutin, activated mast cells no longer released histamine. Moreover, they identified
a new property of rutin: inhibition of leukocytic elastase.

This strengthened the protective properties with respect to the extracellular matrix. They showed
