AS I WRITE THIS, we are on Day 2 of our fasting.
Let me remind you IN CASE I HAVEN’T TOLD YOU LATELY, please know how much my
of what I talked about Sunday night. In order to get to the “afterward,”
we’ve got to press through the “during.” While you are fasting and
praying, you have to understand that you are walking into the enemy’s
camp. I used the Scripture from Mark 3:27 where Jesus talked about the
“strong man.” The only was to go into the strong man’s house and spoil
the goods is if you have someone else stronger that can bind the strong
man. We’re entering the strong man’s house and he will not just allow us
to come in and take our stuff back. He is going to put up a fight. My
purpose for telling you is not to frighten you. My purpose is to let you
know so that you’ll be PREPARED! Recognize it for what it is when it
comes. When people you work with get mean, your lost spouse gets
mean, your physical health is attacked, don’t have a pity party. Recognize
that the strong man is fighting back. But we are not ignorant concerning
his devices. We know how he works, but we also know that he is
DEFEATED…..in Jesus’ name!
I AM MAKING A CONSCIENCE ATTEMPT to post something on my
blog each day to try and encourage you during this 40 days of fasting. Go
to our website and you can access it two ways. It actually shows upon the
homepage right under the changing banner. You can also click on the tab
at the top “Pastor’s blog” and it will take you to
http://woodruffcog.org/category/pastor_blog. I will also try to link it to
Facebook and Twitter so that those of you who are my friend or follow me
can access it there as well. My whole point for doing this is to encourage
you to PRESS ON. Don’t change your mind, don’t back down, don’t
deviate from the plan. Stick with what the Lord laid on your heart and
watch God move.
PLEASE DON’T FORGET the special offering that we are receiving
Sunday morning for the people of Haiti. The monies we receive will be
given through our Missions Dept. in Cleveland via a special project
number just for this need. 100% of what is given goes directly to this
cause. Thank you in advance for what you will do for this missions cause
REMINDER: Pastor Emeritus James H. Shealy will be with us
during the Sunday nights of February. PLEASE, Please,
please….do all that you can to be here. Many of you don’t come
on Sunday nights, but I’m asking you to do all you can to be
present. We want to support him as he preaches, but more than
that, WE NEED THE WORD HE WILL BRING! Can I count on
you to be here?
YOUTH DRAMA PRACTICE is Sunday at 4:30 P.M. All members of
family and I love you. It is our greatest joy to be called to serve along
side of you. We truly believe that the Lord is leading His people for
something great in the days to come. Someone received a word from the
Lord and gave it to me in writing. Here is a portion of what was said:
“…don’t expect me to come the same as before. Expect even greater.
Don’t live in the revival of the past. Don’t limit me, for I am God
Almighty, and nothing is too hard or impossible for me.” I don’t know
how He will do it and what the Lord said blows my mind, but I’M
READY ! ! ! Don’t limit God and don’t live your life looking back.
Keep your eyes focused on what is ahead. It’s gonna be GOOD !

F.R.E.E.D. 12-STEP ADDICTION GROUP OPEN MEETING will be
February 2nd , at 6:00 P.M. in the Youth Building. Guest Speaker will be
Pastor Rodney Ballenger, Founder of Living Alert Ministries, with a
message entitled “Everyone Is Expecting Me To Fail.” Musical guests
will be Tyshawn Staggs and Desiree Ballenger. Please plan to join us for
an evening of inspiration and encouragement.

J.O.Y. CLUB WILL MEET on Thursday, January 28 , at 6:00 P.M. All
over 50 years of age or grandparents are invited to attend. Lots of great

 ONE STEP FROM TEMPTATION

Sometimes there’s just one step to go
Before we yield to sin
But God will help us to say no
If we trust His power from within
Life is full of choices
That everyone must make
But those who draw from inner strength
Shall overcome through faith
Temptation has no boundaries
It’s something we all face
There will be times we slip and fall
But we’re forgiven through God’s grace
The blood of Christ will wash away
The stain of all our sin
Renew a heart and make us whole
And bring a change within
There are many moral boundaries
That people cross each day
But those who stand upon God’s Word
Will never lose their way
There will always be temptation
And repercussions from its sin
But finding strength to just say no
Is where true peace begins
So remember sin is still a choice
In our daily walk of life
But walk the road that God’s laid out
And you’ll walk each step with Christ
