Call for host of the 5th Eastern Mediterranean Pharmaceutical

Symposium (EMPS) 2016

After the remarkable success of the previous Symposia, it is important to our region to
continue gathering all the students during an annual event. However, this will not be possible
for this year. This is why, the call for the 5th EMPS is to be launched now so we can
guarantee a host for 2016.
IPSF-EMRO RWG is calling for interested member organisations of the region to host the 5th
Eastern Mediterranean Pharmaceutical Symposium (EMPS) in 2016, which will be a 5 to 7day event with a 4-day Post Symposium Tour.
The EMPS is an annual regional event for the students and fresh graduates of the region and it
is the annual meeting of all national organisations in the region.

The program of the Symposium includes, but is not limited to:

An official opening ceremony.

The IPSF-EMRO Regional Assembly (12 hours).
IPSF meetings and workshops.
Symposia on topics of pharmaceutical interest and educational and scientific nature.
(The topics should be decided with the help of EMRO Regional Projects Officer)
Poster exhibition.
Social Program.

Only organisations in the Eastern Mediterranean region and who have been IPSF members
for at least one year and are of good standing can bid to host the event.
Things you must know if you wish to host a future IPSF EMPS:

Please notify the IPSF EMRO Secretary (secretary@emro.ipsf.com) of your intention

no later than the 31st of May 2015.
The bid for hosting the 5th EMPS 2016 should include a presentation with
information such as the motives, advantages, and a provisional budget, expected
maximum number of participants, possible venues, and tentative dates.
The finances of the EMPS are totally independent from IPSF and shall be handled by
the member association organising it.
No profit shall be generated from this event. Any excess funds from the event will be
treated according to the IPSF regional office documents (Articles 8, 6. Finances) The
budget shall also cover the IPSF Executive Committee registration fees, speaker
accommodation and transportation during the event, tokens of appreciation for
speakers and judges, as well as, prizes for the Patient Counselling Event, the preEMPS leaders in Training and Poster Exhibition.

The event registration fee shall include all accommodation, meals, and transportation
during the event. The total of registration fee should not be above $250 USD for the
first registration period. It is strongly recommended that the accommodation should be
cheap and basic but also clean, safe and comfortable for all delegates.
Technical aids such as computer equipment and internet as required for the smooth
running of the EMPS should be made available.
If your bid is selected, you are required to sign an event agreement contract with IPSF.
Please read Article 8 of the IPSF Domestic Rules and article 8 if the IPSF regional
office document very carefully. These documents can be obtained from the IPSF
Secretary General (secgen@ipsf.org ).
The host is required to work closely with the IPSF-EMRO Regional Working Group
who shall supervise the planning and organizing of the EMPS. The host will be
required to submit updates and reports whenever required and requested by the IPSFEMRO Regional Working Group.

The decision on hosting shall be voted on by the Regional Working Group.
