The Role of India Inc.

in Reviving the Nations Growth Story

DAY - 1

SYNERGY 2014
6th November 2014
Not a single day goes by without predictions and apprehensions made about Indias growth. With
stories of recovery of global and Indian economy becoming more and more convincing, it is high time
for an introspection to understand what went wrong in past and what could have been done to sustain
the much talked about Indias growth. Recovering from a period of sluggish growth, the Indian
economy is still in a formative stage and hence, the kind of actions each stakeholder in Indias growth
takes in the foreseeable future become extremely important in shaping Indian economy. Having
elected a majority government, the country expects progress and this can be made achievable not
only by the policies and their implementation by the Centre but also active participation by the private
sector. Changes in business models, renewed focus on innovation, consolidation of the market to
extract maximum synergy and transform human talent, a strong financial market built on sound
financial intermediaries, elimination of infrastructural constraints and building on the existing supply
chain and logistics network are identified as some of the areas which could be explored in the context
of accelerating and sustaining Indias growth. At SYNERGY 2014, we expect a healthy discussion on
point of views of our eminent panelists on a range of topics with the objective of understanding the
present better, building a vision for future and, formulating strategies and action plans to achieve that
vision.

& innovations
With constantly changing customer needs, companies need to re-look at the way they
engage with customers. Today, this has become vital to ensure sustained growth as
customers are more informed than ever before. Simultaneously, businesses across the globe
are seeking to optimize costs and improve competitiveness.
Here, consultants step in to develop innovative value propositions and business models that
help deliver value from each and every process. Examples of successful implementations of
these can be seen across industries such as E-commerce, Telecommunications, Logistics,
Infrastructure, Banking etc. Through these transformed models that realign resources and
processes with new goals, consultants can help firms leverage novel opportunities in today's
dynamic business environment.

upbeat, poised for growth and development. But it is only possible with a robust supply
chain network. There are many technologies and practices which developed countries have
adopted and put them to best use. But where does India stand in this regard and what are
