books.
Mountain
Folds
is
a
nonprofit
literary
center
located
in
downtown
Colorado
springs
that
supports
contemporary
publications
of
poetry
and
visual
arts.
The
presentation
is
free
and
open
to
the
public.

Ami
Silverberg
is
an
artist
and
founding
director
of
Dobbin
Mill,
a
hand-papermaking
studio,
and
Dobbin
Books,
a
collaborative
artist
book
studio.
Her
artwork
is
divided
between
artist
books
and
installations.
The
work
conceptually
focuses
on
word
cognition
and
interlinearity,
with
an
emphasis
on
process
and
paper
as
activated
substrate.

collection
of
professional
artists,
craftsman,
metalsmiths,
woodworkers
and
weavers
selling
their
handcrafted
items
in
the

Furniture,

Home
Restoration,

be
demonstrations,

You
will
bind
two
books
in
our
three-day
class.
The
first
full
leather
binding
you
will
complete
is
a
multi-section
binding,
with
visible
sewing.
The
second
full
leather
binding
you
will
complete
is
a
variation
of
this
exposed
sewing
structure
with
a
full
leather
spine
which
can
be
decorated
or
titled
as
you
would
a
traditional
binding.
In
this
class
you
will
have
the
opportunity
to
decorate
both
bindings
with
leather
and
paper
inlays.
Based
on
the
Multi-Section
Pamphlet
in
The
Essential
Guide
to
Making
Handmade
Books
by
Gabrielle
Fox,
the
text
is
sewn
into
both
structures
at
the
very
end
and
is
removable
for
future
conservation
and
replaceable
for
any
changes
made
in
an
artists
book.

is
a
bookbinder
based
in
Cincinnati,
Ohio.
Her
work

Carve
a

linoleum
block
to
combine
with
metal
type
for
a
unique
edition
of
cards.
Students
will
learn
the
basics
of
linoleum
block
carving
and
be
introduced
to
basic
letterpress
techniques
of
setting
type,
presswork
and
cleanup.
Well
make
use
of
a
tabletop
proof
press
as
we
work
on
our
designs,
then
we
will
print
our
editions
on
the
Vandercook
SP15
proof
press.
Well
embellish
our
cards
with
handset
type
printed
on
a
platen
press.
Students
will
take
home
an
edition
of
12
20
cards
of
their
own
design.
No
previous
experience
required;
this
class
is
best
for
teens
and
adults.
