Global Underground (GU) produces the world's best mixes of the world's best DJs.
In 1996, the label was founded by two merry fellows from the North of England. A
ndy Horsfield James Todd and literally flew off the dance floor in the club busi
ness. James Todd was a musician and romantic, Andy Horsfield - a professional ph
otographer who specializes in rock bands. Their slogans on the albums Do not Tak
e Life Too Seriously and Traveling The World At The Speed ??Of Sound quickly spr
ead all over the world.
The independent and bold label quickly gained a reputation as the most current e
dition of the music of the highest quality that lasts to this day.
The first release Global Underground was the album Tony de Vit - Tel Aviv. The i
dea was simple. Label partying in the most unusual and exotic parts of the world
, such as Moscow (Deep Dish), Romania (James Lavelle) and Buenos Aires (Dave Sea
man). As a result, a double edition include music, photos and notes. Sasha, Paul
Oakenfold, John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia, Nick Warren and Danny Howells - only a
few, who were noted on the label with a truly fantastic job. It is worth rememb
ering and about those talents that opened the label: Sander Kleinenberg, Anthony
Pappa, Steve Lawler. The latter does not stop with admiration about GU: They wer
e the first DJs who provided complete freedom of action in the work on the album
, and it was phenomenal."
