Should all tertiary level student require to take part in sport?

1. Nowadays, sports are very important as education itself. Deputy Prime of

Malaysia, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin suggested that the education policy
need to be revised in order to give the importance to sports. This is to ensure
that the students are able to excel in academics as well as in sports.
Therefore, it is a Yes for all the tertiary level students to take part in sport.
2. But due to the more of the advance technology, most students care less
toward sports which in turn will lead to the cause of indiscipline in school.
Nonetheless, sports should be made compulsory in school at all cost. Firstly,
sport can help to develop not just physically but mentally as well. Sports
consist of various types of vigorous activities ranging from the traditional
like jogging to new modern favorites such as skateboarding. All of these
activities are able to remove unwanted toxins from the body through
increasing the circulation of blood, boosting up your metabolism and more.

3. Moreover, to have a healthy body, come with a healthy mind as well. When
student engage in sport actively, they will be able to develop a sense of
increased alertness. Other than that, this in return can stimulate the brain and

help students in their studies. Besides that, sports can cultivate the
importance of cooperativeness among students. It means children will be
more ready when they learn the importance of cooperating with their friends.
This also helps students to overcome their shyness and be extravert to their
surroundings, which can enhances their future.
4. Hence, in order to emphasize the important of cooperativeness and yes for
all the tertiary students to take part, students should be motivated to
participate in team sports for school. Furthermore, having sports compulsory
can increase the possibility of students to success in their future not only
from health but also from wealth.
5. More than 34 percent of adolescents and teens ages 12-19 are overweight
and more than 17 percent are obese. These rates have roughly doubled since
1980, according to the 2012 Shape of the Nation Report. research shows that
exercise not only improves human health, but it also improves cognitive
performance.
6. Brain scans have shown that physical activity improves the area of the brain
involved with high-level decision making. In addition, we know employers
often are concerned about employee health, in part because physically active
employees attend work more and tend to perform better.

7. While no research has conclusively shown why this downward trend is

happening at universities, it is likely a result of shrinking budgets and an
increased focus on purely academic courses, similar to what has happened at
public elementary, middle, and high schools. However, its noted that the
median physical education budget for schools in the United States is only
$764 per school year in K-12 and 61 percent of physical education teachers
report an annual budget of less than $1,000. Yet, obesity will cost the United
States $344 billion in medical-related expenses by 2018, about 21 percent of
the nations health-care spending.

8. While many universities offer recreation classes and fitness centers, those
facilities are often intimidating for first-year, international, and low-fitness
or skill-level students. It is said that studies have shown that campus
exercise facilities are often utilized by the healthiest population of the
student body. The very people who want to work out, and likely would find
a way to do so no matter what, are often the most frequent visitors to gyms
and fitness centers.
9. A public university should provide a way for people who may be intimidated
by state-of-the-art facilities, or may be unfamiliar with even the basic

concept of working out, a way to learn about basic health and physical
activity. It may be up to researchers and experts in his own discipline of
exercise science to turn the tide at universities, and bring the research into a
policy arena.

10.In the unity and holistic education process of students, participation in sport
and other recreational activities are important. Promoting sporting values,
means encouraging friendship, fair-play and co-operation among students
who will one day occupy responsible key positions in education, economy,
culture and politics.. It also means giving a new dimension to the student
spirit of study and research in that individual are given the opportunity to
develop not just intellectually, but also morally and physically.

11.The opportunity for youth leaders of the future is provided by university

sport activities to meet and to foster lasting friendships which contributes to

the development of a unified nation. Sport is considered an ideal vehicle for

promoting mutual understanding amongst people with different cultures and
histories. Students learn to respect each other through the common
international language of sport.

12.In conclusion, we can conclude here that sports in tertiary education are
absolutely beneficial for society on the whole. It is a long process to
everyone that needs to be reinforced throughout life. However, we need
system that may eradicate illiteracy and may provide the common man an
access. The governments of every nation have to help their people to educate
by supporting their studies and as well in sports for students for a better
future in later years. Every angle has to look on for our younger
generations on the education for them in the future so that even a nation can
be establish more in later years.
