Course Description:

This course serves as an introduction to the


historical, legislative, environmental, and societal
issues in the field of special education.
Students will learn about the characteristics of
persons with diverse abilities.
The focus of this course will be on individual
differences and the inclusion of persons with
disabilities in society (e.g., families, education,
employment, recreation, politics).

marks if you are using a passage from another source.
Use citation for paraphrased passages. (authors last

Weekly Assignments

There will be a weekly assignment OR quiz due


every week.

Weekly assignments are ALWAYS posted on


Wednesdays at 9:00 am and due by 12:00 Noon
on Tuesday.

Weekly assignments will not be accepted LATE.

Once submitted, graders will begin to grade your


assignment. Plan ahead and only submit when you
are completely finished.

Use quotation marks when using passages from any video or readings. Use
citations (authors last name, year) or (website address).
Please provide your full name (first and last) and the complete questions and

Number each question and place a space after each paragraph and answer.
(Make sure you have space between answers within the text box. Using the
format box assists in making it easier to grade.)
Remember to use People-First Language.
Copy and paste all information in the Textbox of the submission AND attach
a nicely formatted "Word" document. (Information in the text box will
be graded) (Information from the word document will only be graded if there is
a problem with the information in the text box.)
Be thorough, use good sentences, and do not make us guess.
