The world of Formula one

They go round and round in circles many say, it is only about

the technology they say, theres no human skill involved
they say. What they are talking about is Formula 1. But they
are certainly mistaken.
Formula one (or F1) is the pinnacle of motorsports. It involves
technology, human skill, infrastructure and management of the
finest kind. Held under the title FIA Formula One World
Championship this sport is the highest class of single seat auto
racing that is sanctioned by the Fdration Internationale de
l'Automobile (FIA).
The First race was held in France in 1906, on a 65 mile course
and took 2 days to complete and the average speed of the
winning car, a Renault driven by Hungarian Ferenc Szisz was 62
mph. From those humble origins Formula one racing was born,
and since has come a long way to appeal to millions of fans,
attract huge sponsorships and deliver champions who are as
revered as Olympic medallists.
The formula 1 races called Grands Prix are held all across the
world at purpose built tracks and sometimes even on public
roads. A F1 season consists of about 20 Grands Prix, the results
of which are assessed using a points system, which determines
two annual world championships, a drivers championship and
another for the constructors.
To be a Formula One champion is to be the absolute best of the
best, the Number 1 driver in the world. But no one jumps into a
Formula One car on a whim and races to victory. Today's drivers
compete for many years and across thousands of miles before
they're ready for the ultimate test in the ultimate driving
machine. Drivers have to cut their teeth in lower formulas and
often have to start off with the humble Go Kart.
The formula designated in the name stands for the set of
rules and regulations to which every participant has to comply.
Formula One rules come in two distinct categories. Sporting

regulations cover all aspects of the race itself, from how a race
is started to how it's concluded and everything in
between. Technical regulations provide specific details about
the
car's
major
systems,
including
the engine, transmission and suspension. You might think the
rules and regulations take away the drama and excitement
from F1, but in reality it elevates the creativity of the team and
ultimately the skill of the driver to centre stage.
Formula one cars are the best in automobile technology, at the
same time is no different from the average road car. They use
internal
combustion
engines
and
use
transmissions,
suspensions, wheels and brakes but thats where the similarity
ends. Each
