Beach Elite
Warm ups:
-Running to the water
-Stretches (in circle and side lines)
-Blocking on the net then 10,10 and 10 (push ups, sit ups, squats)
-Approaches
Passing (Intermediate):
Normal passing warmups. 10 reps. One target one passer
-Kneeling
-Standing
-Drop off (set to partner. run up, get low, hand on the waist, when they set/catch and toss back, drop off
and set/pass)
-Side to side
-Short to Deep
-Deep to Short
-Drop Knee - running up to pass a short ball. Drop right knee into sand with left leg foot into sand and
with platform.
Butterfly drill
Serve receive
Receiving high ball at head
SETTING:
#1 Toss to setter. Setter sets to target. #2 Target throws to passer. Passer passed to setter.
Setter sets to target. #3 Same thing but coach hits down ball from other side.
DIGGING:
Trees - #1 two kneels kneeling in sand. dig ball left and right hands. #2- reach out for ball.
HITTING:
Approaches
"Pass then KICK out wide to hit"- footwork drill
Jump the Towel - players must jump over towel to work on approach then hit ball.
Short hit/roll shot
Adjusting for pushed out set ( footwork). Hitting from left. Left - right kicks out plant then
left next to it then jump
PASSING/DIGGING TO HIT DRILLS:
V Drill - down ball-in the net- set
Hook Drill - down ball-free ball-set
DEFENSIVE DRILLS
"Get back on D!" - partners bump set hit then get back on D while Coaches hit ball back on 2
hits
"Drop off then pass with knuckle"
TRICK PLAY DRILLS
-Hit a sky ball if the set is way off the net.
-set over on two cross court
"Hit over on two"- if defense doesn't Get back on D!" - coaches bump set hit then slow to get
back on D while partners hit ball back on 2 hits
High Line Defense - Coach on platform one side of net. Blocker and defender on other side of net.
Coach slaps ball and hits high line over blocker. Defender runs to dig/pass ball to his blocker then hit
over.
FREE BALLERS - players against coaches. opposing team serves to coaches. coaches can free ball
it over on one or two. Players have to bump set hit.
*CONDITIONING
Star Drill
Bumpeez - pass the ball to target then do a burpee. Target passes the ball when passer is
coming up from burpee
Suicides
Theraband jumps then run
