SAFETY
For a positive and safety culture to be developed,
everyone within the organization needs to understand the standards of health and safety expected by the organization and the role of the individual in achieving and maintaining those standards. Such standards are required to control and minimize health and safety risks. HEALTH & SAFETY TRAINING : Training is a very important part of the health and safety culture and it is also a very legal requirement, under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations and other regulations, for an employer will provide such training to the employees. Basic HSE-Training is required on recruitment.
WHAT COULD BE A HAZARD
Hazard can be in any form and any thing which is dangerous for us causing an injury or illness. HAZARD ANALYSIS AND WORK PROCEDURE : Based on the hazard analysis carried out earlier and with our previous experience in implementing safety procedure a various sites, following safety procedure have been developed. i.
Although most care has been exercised while
conducting the hazards analysis this is based on the data currently available. Certain environmental hazards may be encountered depending upon the actual field conditions while executing the work.
ii.
Depending on the project progress planning
schedules such as monthly/weekly and day to day planning all critical jobs will be analyzed to identify the hazards likely to be encountered during the execution and to decide the precautions to take.
iii.
Activity specific safety plans for new activities will
be prepared by the safety officer based on the method of statement and the precautions suggested by him will be implemented by Site Manager/Project Engineer.
The TTT method is more effective in the process of
extracting the work . Along with the toolbox training, it will be more effective discussing with the work-man about your work plan. 1. T Tell them about your work plan. 2. T Tell them what they should do. 3. T Tell them how to do it in a safe way JOB SPECIFIC TRAINING : Job specific training ensures that employees undertake jobs in a safe manner. Such training is sometimes known as tool box training. TOOL BOX TALK : Discuss details of the safe system of work activities. i. Using proper required safety PPE for the work. ii. Work permits/Work clearance permission. iii. Using proper tools for the work. iv. Checking tools and equipments conditions before starting the work. v. Ensuring no hazards in the work area and surroundings. vi. Assessing the risk involved in the work activities. vii. Safe work methods and procedures. viii. Emergency procedures.
