Life refers to living in this world from birth to death.

Between these

two nodes of birth and death, man experiences pain, pleasure, peace and
ecstasy in his life. For every human being, life is interlinked with three
factors, viz individual, society and nature like three corners of a triangle.
Yoga will enable and equip men to enjoy a peaceful and blissful life.It
is essentially the art of understanding all about the Self, Society and
Nature.
Yoga means maintaining harmony or merging. Yoga is common to
whole humanity irrespective of religion, caste and creed, because yoga
practice deals with the individual, society and nature.

Yoga is a science of life designed to develop the sixth sense to its fullest.
Many seers

(Rishis)

of

this

ancient land

have

spent

their

lives

in

developing this science and making their own contributions to it from time
to

time.

Their

experiences

have

been

varied

and

so

too

their

contributions. As a result, we fi nd today that there are several systems of


Yoga, each one with its own method of approach. But the aim of all these
diff erent systems is the same, i.e., man should realize his real self and
live in harmony and peace with himself and the society in which he is
born.

Our ancestors have categorized the life, from birth to death, in four stages.
They are:

In olden days,Our ancestors framed the specific displinary systems to be

followed in each stage of life.That is become as four types of yoga. There are,

Bakthi Yoga
Karma Yoga
Raja Yoga
Gnana Yoga

Bakthi Yoga:
In this stage one should learn from the elders and live with faith on them.
Karma Yoga:
In this stage one should working to earn livelihood. What has been learn
during the Bakthi Yoga stage, now becomes helpeful to do the duty well.
Raja Yoga:
After attaining fulfilment in family life, in this stage, a person spend his life in
the way of searching Divinity.
Gnana Yoga:
In this stage One may get the Divine Consciousness and attain the Perfection
by finding the Oneness. By dedicating his life totally, he may guide / service to
the society selflessly.

Bakthi Yoga, Karma Yoga, Raja Yoga and Gnana Yoga helped man to improve
his way of virtual life and guided him to live harmony with society and Nature.
YOGA FOR MODERN AGE:

Now , in modern times, Man begins his life in Bakthi yoga and reaches
Karama yoga. They can continue to be in family, Spritual(Meditations), enrish
their mind and get the Divine Consciousness.
Even the Youth can learn meditaion

and attain the Divine Consciousness

without waiting to end their family duties or become old enough to know about
the Oneness.
